My mother was born on Flag Day June 14, 1901 in New York City and passed away when she was 88 years old. She was 45 exactly one week after I was born. I wish she had been more open about all of the history she saw in her life living through the two world wars and so many other new inventions and things but her generation just did not share that much. Today I will move hydrate and track what I eat. It is easy to track my meals on Lose It! and I have been trying to stay under 1350 cal a day. That is what the nutritionist also said today if I want to lose a least a pound a week. I heard excellent lectures on motivation is well itโs on healthy foods affect us foods to avoid and foods to eat more. I also heard a lecture on keeping and maintaining motivation one of the hardest things for me. Today is the last day for lectures for our group and I will also try to go to the Thai Chi class because Iโve always wanted to know what it was like. Saturday night we are going to have a group dinner. There are only about 10 of us so we really have gotten to know one another. The nutritionist showed me individually wrapped chocolates that have only 4 g of sugar. I took a little bite and it was really quite good. The brand is Nib Mor extreme daily dose of dark chocolate. I have to check out the cost. Are you said you could see yesterday and plan to do so today because I think it reached 109 which is too hot to use any pool that is in the sun. I hope we all have a great day and a relaxing weekend.

Hope you get your walks in Ann. Hope you get everything organized to your satisfaction June. I know you are pretty much off the grid up there. Also hope the social worker comes through sooner rather than later. Becky - I hope your knees finally start to feel better. Audrey - Thanks for the pictures. It sounds pretty darn awesome for the calorie count! Hope the heat eases. Cathy - Enjoy your visit. The nap, while necessary yesterday, kind of disrupted my sleep last night. Jack was feisty last night and up and down on the roof which scares the daylights out of me. But it was a beautiful, cool night to be on the deck for dinner and TV. Dinner was steamed lobster (om sale this week!), corn on the cob, salad and light garlic roll. I saved the tails for a lobster roll tonight. Should be a beautiful, coolish June day. I will walk at lunch and do some mowing after work. Housework wise I will just need to wipe down the kitchen after meal prep and damp mop the floors. Dusting and vacuuming was done yesterday, along with weeding the garden. Other weeding will be done tomorrow a.m.

Good morning all. June good luck at your meeting and weigh in for the month. I go the first Thursday to keep lifetime status Have fun with your menu and picking up what you need. Keeping DM in my prayers. Audrey hope the weather and your knee cooperate for that walk. Hope you score a deal on the produce and meat. Audrey thank you for sharing about your DM. I agree, back then they didn't share their life story that well. Lots of things I know just bits and pieces of my dad's life in Italy before coming to America. I know you will apply all that you learned to your daily life. That chocolate sounds delish. I'll check out the website. Cathy enjoy your daughter's visit. Don't worry about posting while she is with you. We will want a 'full report' when she leaves Susi sorry your nap disturbed your sleep! Your dinner sounded great and glad you were able to enjoy it outside in your 'happy place' It was too cool and damp to sit in the screen room last night. Today will be better. No rain in sight unless Mother Nature decides at the last minute to bless us! Bee I shall also do what I need to do I have a trip to the library and a quick look-see through Ocean State Job Lot. Also need to add a few more items to the box that lives in our trunk to donate. Waving and wishing all a wonderful OP day!

Goooood morning
Becky LOL. . . Sometimes you have to go to the grocery store before you can decide what meat to buy. Hope that you can walk later.
Thx! I expect to see a gain when I WI, but I know why.
Audrey Your spa week sounded like a great way to continue your personal journey.
Bee j Good luck w/ your WI. Great attitude!
Audrey Sending warm thoughts to you on your mother's birthday. I understand. While my gramma & I were so very close, I never thought to ask her about male relatives who likely served in the Civil War or how it felt to be part of the first generation of female voters. Am excited for you to go home feeling recharged & in possession of new insights & knowledge.
Cathy So happpppppy that you have two weeks to spend w/ your DD.
Susi Love that you can prepare such delicious fresh, seafood dishes that are perfect for summer patio dining. Sounds like you accomplished a lot even w/ the disruption of the prep work & colonoscopy.

A mom note. . .
I popped in the facility yesterday afternoon. She was at the monthly "Happy Hour," seated by two new "faces." The dining staff had prepared a pretty sea foam green cocktail w/ a pineapple wedge. Am using the word cocktail liberally since any alcohol involved would have been very little. I stayed only forthree hands of blackjack, because it's important for her make connections & be involved. We had fun. I took a picture of her to send to my DH, sister, K, & her sons.
Am proud of her willingness to embrace change. She misses dad, but feels that his is with her.
Letting my oldest sister be the family spokesperson w/ the nursing home situation. Am letting my out of state brother be her support person. He or my SIL can make calls as well asI can.

WTG Bee. That is great with the weight loss June I am SO very happy to hear that you are letting your siblings step up to the plate with the DM's care. You are right, they too can and should make the calls. That is wonderful that your mom is adapting to the facility. Seems like this new floor is a better fit. You are a good daughter. Well the sun is out nice and bright. Carl is out with miss LuLa on her first 'business walk' of the day I'm going to empty out the dishwasher now while he's out so when he returns we can sit and enjoy coffee. Will CBL
