This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning ROs. I went to bed really early last night so was up before 5 this morning. Having my coffee and enjoying a relaxed start to the day. I have a personal training session at 8:30 and then have to be home because the cable people are coming to replace FIOS between 11-2. After that I want to get to Target for a couple of things, and also JJill which has a 30% sale going on and I need some tops and sweater-jacket type things to deal with the a/c in the office. Out to dinner early evening with DN, probably to a local place we both like. We can get in on a Saturday evening if we eat early, which is not a problem for me . Looks like a beautiful day here weather-wise and I'm pleased to say I've had my first day back on track and reining in the overeating I've been doing. Feel so much better already. I had cut back my personal training to twice a week but I think I'll go back up to 3 times a week until I go away June 29th for my hiking trip. I think I need all the sessions I can get to be/stay in shape for this. Now if I can just keep a lid on the food, I'll be fine. Have a great day all. Will bbl.

Good morning friends,
Pretty much another "stay at home and listen to them bang on the roof" kind of day. We went grocery shopping last night, but of course I forgot 2 of the main things that were actually written on the list. Haha! So I might have to get back out sometime today in search of fizzy water and butter! I'll have to go outside of my little town, because as basic as it sounds, we have no mineral water sold here. Now, butter is another story...we have plenty of that! Including Amish Roll Butter in a ginormous roll that I've never purchased, because I don't have anything big enough to store it in. Lol
Anyway, roofers should be here any moment and start their bang, bang, banging on the roof. They did get the first of the metal on yesterday and completed the overhang over the front porch and OMG it looks terrific! Better than I even imagined. The color is perfectly perfect and offers a beautiful contrast to the stone work and siding colors. And just the look of the sheet metal works so well with the craftsman/modern farmhouse/mountain house style of the house. I'm so happy we decided to go this direction. The look alone is worth the extra cost. I can't wait until it's finished and I can post some before & after pics.
Other than the hunt for water & butter and the roof banging, not much else on the agenda for today. I seriously need to mow, but I'm trying to wait until they finish the roof and do their sweep with the giant magnet. That will greatly lessen the chance of the mower catching a nail and sending it rocketing through the air, the thought of which scares me intensely.
Oh well...I'm rambling.
Andi - It sounds like you have a Go-go-go day planned. When is your next coaching session scheduled and how is that going? I have a live session Sunday evening and need to try to catch up on some reading before then. It's been hard to concentrate with the noise we've been living with all week. Since Mark is here today maybe I can put in some earbuds and get it knocked out.
Okay, I need to scoot and tend to the pup. I'm sure I'll be checking back later. Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

Happy Saturday, ROs,
I am off today, and working 8 to 5 at the station tomorrow. I have been able to get on here at work, but I could only read your posts and keep up with what has been going on, but I couldn't reply and post something.
Andi, glad you are feeling so in control again, and getting back on track for your next hiking trip! It sounds like a busy, but fun day you have planned.
Lora, I'm excited for you to be getting the roof finished soon. I have done a few improvements here, and it is so great to enjoy the finished "product". I want to do a few more things, including painting all throughout the house.
Thanks to everyone for the great keto advice. I think I could be happy with berries once in a while. I am going to investigate it, and see what kind of plan I can come up with. With the stomach issues, I feel like my eating has been somewhat scattered and more related to what won't bother me... I am getting some improvements now, and hoping I can make more of a plan that will be consistent.
Not much planned right now. Maybe a once-over with the vacuum, and a little bit of push mowing out in the areas that I didn't get to the other day. I will bbl, but wanted to say hi, and waving to all to follow. Have a great day,
RobinMD

Hi Lora and RobinMD. I'm back from my workout and I'm going to be pretty sore, I think. I want her to work me hard before the hiking trip, will continue 3 days a week until I go away (so the next 2 weeks), and I especially want to work on leg strength. Did Sumo lifts with a kettlebell today, among other things. Just finished the second half of my breakfast and am contemplating making more coffee...
Lora, I lol about forgetting two things that were actually on the list. That is so ME! Last time I forgot toilet paper... I wonder what's in Amish Roll Butter. I can't wait to see the pix of the new roof! My next coaching session is Tuesday evening and then my last one is in the second week in July. I think I will talk this time about my feelings of deprivation when I'm following any food plan and the sadness I experience when I think about all the things I shouldn't be eating. Looking forward to it. I'll be interested to hear about your coaching session as well - will it focus specifically on the science of keto or is it a more experiential thing?
RobinMD, glad you have a day off today. Hope you get some down time and that you have the same beautiful weather there that we have here. If you're thinking of doing keto, Lora is truly our resident expert and is super supportive (she's super supportive even if you're not doing keto), so definitely worth talking to her before you jump in.
I'll check back in later. Hope Jana is having a wonderful time. And Robin S in Alaska.

Good Morning ROs...we had a "coffee"' this morning at the clubhouse. One of the gals on the social committee baked cinnamon-type rolls, blueberry muffins, etc. They looked fabulous - I was salivating, but one thing about trying to be GF is that I am used to just not having any... I did have plain black coffee and fruit...loved the kiwi. Home now and had an egg, half a piece of bacon, and half a small piece of GF bread. I think I am going to fix my special coffee (you know...almond milk, coconut oil, stevia, cinnamon, etc) and read for a bit.
I agree in hoping that Jana and RobinS are having a wonderful time.
Andi - sounds like you are really getting "whipped" in shape! We used kettlebells the other day and they can be a pretty tough workout.
RobinMD - at least you can keep up with our posts when you are at work.
Lora - I too cannot wait to see the before and after... I am really eager to see the finished product...just hearing you describe it sounds awesome.
Waving to Janet, Amanda, and everyone else out there.

Andi - Amish Roll Butter is just butter. Supposedly made by the Amish or in a Amish fashion. It comes in a giant 2 lb. roll or tube shape. My coaching is part keto specific/part specific for people with lipedema and/or lymphedema, and partly addresses the mental and emotional aspects of weight loss in general, living with the such a condition, how to feel better about yourself and live you best life...kind of stuff. RobinMD - I hope your shift tomorrow is an easy one. But in the mean time, enjoy your day off today...if you can call it a day off. There is always so much to do when you have a house with property, isn't there? They seem to be making really good progress on the roof today so might finish up, but I'm not holding my breath. Susie - your fruit and coffee sounds lovely. Enjoy your book and your Susie Latte! Today doesn't seem to be quite as loud as yesterday was. Less banging anyway...at least for the moment.

Hi Everyone, I mailed the power of attorney and title out this morning, walked over to the library to drop my books off and then caught the bus to go with my friend to have lunch with the scout friends. I didnt realize that we'd end up being out pretty much all afternoon. I wasnt going to go out for dinner if I had gotten home earlier but since it was almost time to meet the people from my club I decided to come. I am not going to the miniature golfing afterwards tho. Tommorow I will do a little food shopping and pick up another prescription. If I had realized that I had that one to refill earlier I would have had that one refilled as well. Oh well! Lora, glad that your roof is looking so great. Robin, have a relaxing day. have a great evening!
