Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Just getting the thread started. Bbl
Back ... work was slow today. I learned how to post invoices, that kept me busy for over an hour. Since I already post the invoice for gas we use, it was pretty similar so I caught on quickly. The gal who taught me is the one that also prepares our deposits daily. I had to check yesterdayās cash deposit because the girl was off, I found it easily. I asked how often I make errors, she said that I donāt and that I always send over a well organized drop. I was happy to hear that.
I came home, it was drizzling so I decided just to walk the 1 mile route. Glad I did, when I turned the last corner it started to rain heavier and now itās pouring. Iāll be short of my new target, but got enough steps to make me happy.
Getting my grocery list ready for tomorrow. Not sure what type of muffins Iāll make yet, maybe just plain ones and I can put jelly on them.
See ya tomorrow.

Good evening all. Joy, sounds like you are detail oriented and do a great job! I hope they reward you nicely for that dedication. They are going to miss you when you go to part time and then retire! (Sounds better than quit!!!)
WTG on getting in your walk! I should have taken Maggie out today and didnāt!!! Any walk is better than no walk! And just missing getting drenched is good too!!!
We got the charity pickup out yesterday morning about 8:00 am. They say 7:00 am but we werenāt up. As soon as Stan was dressed, he took it out. Wasnāt out there 10 min and we heard the truck picking it up! Thank goodness we got it out when we did!
Gal came this morning and picked up the curio cabinet. She said it was exactly what she was looking for. She had inherited some special dishes from her DM and wanted to display them in it. She was thrilled with it (didnāt mind that it still had a few cobwebs from sitting so long) and said sheād polish it up and it would be good to go!!!
Little later the gal came for the bears. She had to take one out to look at it, and was like a kid at Christmas. Said she couldnāt wait to get home and look at all of them. She was thrilled too. So then we took DD her $200 and she was thrilled!
Stanās eye looks awful (red and bloody looking) and it bled all over the sheets & pillowcase last night. I thought it was just his pillow case and bottom sheet so took those and treated with peroxide and then washed. Tonight when I re-made his bed, I found the top sheet had a bunch of blood and thereās a little on the blanket, which canāt go in my washer. I can use the peroxide and just soak out the little on the blanket. They told him it would bleed some, think itās a little more because of the Xarelto (blood thinner) he takes. It hasnāt been bleeding as much today at all, and we are going to put gauze over it tonight in bed. Try to avoid a repeat.
I gave the other group a weekend challenge. To clean out a closet. Can be coat closet, bedroom closet, linen closet, pantry, any space like that you choose! Iām working on our master closet. Getting Stanās long sleeve heavy shirts out and upstairs to storage for the summer. And I had him sort out what ones he hadnāt worn / didnāt think heād wear and thatās going into the next charity pick up. Itās always nice to have a starter (kind of like bread š)!
I got Carolās light pink scarf done last night. Going to weave in ends tonight on a few dishcloths. I have 3-4 people who want some. Younger DD will be here tomorrow, so I want to get hers ready. And the cleaning gal wants some. And then I want to give some to my niece who made a cute plaque for Stan for Fatherās Day (Iāll send you both a picture), and to my massage gal / friend, and DF Rita loves them too. And I always like to have a few on hand in case someone asks about them. So Iāll be busy, plus I have a darker pink scarf started for Carol in a different pattern.
Working to get older DD to help me do more cleaning downstairs again. Sheās good at it and stays focused and is a good sounding board for what can be donated and what should just be tossed. One of my biggest issues.
ok, going to do some dishcloth work and then bed. I had trouble getting to sleep last night, then woke up about 1:30 and then just dozed lightly until 3:00 when I woke up and had really weird things going thru my head (all the friends & family weāve lost) and then I was fixating because I couldnāt think of one of my cousinās DHās names or their last name! šš. Then I just dozed lightly again from 5:00 until the alarm went off at 7:30. So Iām dragging tonight. Will be back tomorrow!!!

Good afternoon,
Ruth - that scarf is a beautiful shade of pink. Is that a knit every row pattern? One of these days Iām going to knit some dishcloths, I used to have a bunch of them.
Another rainy day. I did do a short walk this morning before church and hope to get another one in later today. I love the coolness, but not the rain.
Just going to putter around in the basement today. Iām making a lot of headway there and need to start combining containers. Eventually Iāll go through them but for now just having fewer bins will help. Laundry on the agenda too, thatās more for charity bins.

Joyce, sorry to hear that the weather didnāt let you get all the steps in you wanted to. I hope management appreciates your work ethic. Sounds like today is a good day to continue tackling your basement.
Ruth, hope Stan is doing OK. Iām sure the bleeding is due to him being on a blood thinner. Hope the bleeding has stopped or at least lessened. Nice that you can make dish cloths for your friends. I have several and find that they do a really nice job. My younger sister is a real good organizer and doesnāt keep much stuff. She has helped my DB go thru some of his boxes/bins and they both felt it was a good job. Hope older DD can find a few days to help you. Great getting so much out of your house and also the extra $$$. How was your weekend challenge? I mentioned to Bill on Friday that he needs to weed out some of his long sleeve shirts ā hope he does it this week. I hate it when I donāt get a good nights sleep, seems to ruin my whole day.
We had a nice weekend with both DSs at the lake. The weather wasnāt very nice either day, but we were able to be outside for a camp fire last night. Rain and clouds all day today. In fact it is not going to be a nice week with weather. The PGA golf tournament is being held in the area this week. It is a few miles from DS#2 house and traffic can be bad. He knows which roads to avoid so he says it doesnāt bother him. As of now rain is predicted Tuesday thru Friday. I hope they get some nice weather for the weekend days. That is when the big crowds are there.

Good night all. Joy, that scarf is a seed stitch pattern. I used seed stitch and made up my own pattern. Itās about 6ā wide and 55ā long. She loves pink in any shade.
Stanās eye is much better today. Got blood out of most everything he got it on in bed. Heās feeling much better too. We got in a 2+ mile walk tonight. I was exhausted and didnāt feel in a good mood, but decided I wouldnāt feel any worse actually walking, so we went out. And just kept walking.
I got some work done in our master closet, but not finished. I need to get a step stool and take down stuff off the top shelf and get rid of a lot of that. And older DD and Kira are coming the 5th of July for the weekend and she will help me some with cleaning. Sheās working on her basement too. And she helps me decide what to donate or toss. She took home a few things last time we did it. We had recycling enough for 2 different pick ups; garbage to overflow the can; a HUGE donation for pick up; and each of the kids got a few things. And we cleared off the floor. I may get her to help with some pictures too. Bins of those are sitting on the floor in the storage room where we had them out going thru them before our anniversary. So I need to combine them and start going thru a bin at a time and sorting and tossing. Dottie, you have inspired me to get working on pictures too.
And today I sent home a half dozen skeins of sugar and cream yarn with DD and Harper. DD said something about the yarn for hats to donate or something, I think Harper has a loom she got for Christmas. And Harper likes to finger knit so I gave her a bunch of odds and ends leftovers from dishcloths Iāve made. Next Iāll give her some other yarn if sheās serious about making hats and things. But it was something gone!!!
Joy, you are doing great in your basement. Dottie, hope Bill goes thru some of his shirts. I got Stan to get rid of 1, but he really wears his long sleeve and heās only got 10 or so now. Iāve weeded out a lot over time.
Ok, going to bed shortly. I got the beds made and clean sheets await. More tomorrow!
