diva49, happy anniversary! How wonderful! Nothing too much out of the usual for today. I need to work on my French homework. I must! I have been following my eating plan well since my overindulgence on Saturday (when we celebrated Father's day). My husband and I have had an issue in our house with pantry moths (not closet moths). We bought traps, but they did nothing. We go around vacuuming them up and swatting them with our electric racket, but that doesn't solve the root problem. So yesterday I did a very thorough cleaning of my parrot's cage, stand, and floor area, as well as every other place in the house where food debris may be accessible. I hope that helps. I need to do all of that again soon to ensure they don't come back. So far, I haven't seen the buggers since the thorough cleaning.

Everything has to be cleaned out, of course, and the bay leaves should be spread all around the pantry. They really are hard to control but in Hawaii this is what we did and it worked. I used fresh bay leaves from my bay leaf tree but dried ones work too. You have to pretty much empty out all your stuff in the pantry, unfortunately. They lay eggs in nooks and crannies everywhere, even in the corners of cardboard boxes. But the do hate bay leaves! www.thekitchn.com/tips-bay-leaves-in-the-pantry-69557Good morning. Playing it by ear today---waiting for the landscape/paver guy to call and set up an appointment for estimates for paver walkways and a retaining wall. Have a good day, everyone!

I'm in. Morning all! diva49, Happy Anniversary! I got back late yesterday from a great weekend on the boat with family and friends. I can't keep up with the rest of them but, it's fun to be around all the positive energy. I laughed so hard, I'm hoarse. Lots of laundry on tap today as well as a run to for fresh produce. Enjoy the day!

Good morning. I’m in.
I can’t believe it’s Monday again. Where did last week go?
I think I will head out to my WW friends meet-up later this morning and step on the scale. I need to work on attaining that charm!
I wish everyone a great day.

Playing it by ear today---waiting for the landscape/paver guy to call and set up an appointment for estimates for paver walkways and a retaining wall. Have a good day, everyone! Believe it not, we do have lots of bay leaves strewn around our pantry. My husband had read that a while ago and so he put them all around there. I do think it is helpful, because I don't think the pantry itself is the problem. I think other areas of the house that have food debris are the problem. That reminds me that I should put bay leaves in my parrot's food hamper. We hadn't thought to do that. I really think our pantry is pretty safe. It was only about a month ago that we did a very thorough spring cleaning of the pantry. We wiped down the walls and floor in there, and thoroughly cleaned the shelves, various products, and put new contact paper on them. I threw out some old stuff. I even put some pantry items in the freezer for a couple of days (like flours). Most everything should be air tight. The only things that aren't completely are maybe unopened boxes of rice mixes (where rice is directly in the box and not plastic) and maybe corn starch and confectioner's sugar. I'll check them out. I cleaned out and put new contact paper on a couple other shelves/drawers, too. Do you think they'd be attracted to teas? There are some boxes with unsealed bags. Really, I think the moths downstairs are from the upstairs. I'm glad I did the thorough cleaning upstairs, including washing the garbage cans all around the house. I need to be more diligent about cleaning my parrot's cage bottom, the floor beneath, and his stand every day. I confess that sometimes I only clean his dishes thoroughly daily and leave some of the rest longer than I should. Maybe I'll even put some bay leaves on the bottom of his cage. He can't access the bottom because there is a grate above it. I'm sure he wouldn't eat bay leaves, anyway, and he rarely goes to the cage floor. I've been careful to make sure his food canisters and bags are completely sealed. I did see one parrot food bag had some spider web like stuff in it a while ago. I threw it away. I think that's evidence of the moths. Thanks for bringing up the bay leaves! We really have had a problem with them.

Hi all, diva49,- Happy Anniversary. What a beautiful picture! I had a great week with my brother and niece. Cool Springs PA has the "Cool Springs Power Museum", it's multiple buildings and acres devoted to gas powered engines. They has a show twice a year that other engine collectors bring their engines and my brother sets up his stand. I grew up in Oil City and worked at Drake Well, so these engines are nostalgia for me and my DB, Helps me to remember some of the good times. Plus running around with my niece is always good. Now it's laundry and taking some on line classes. I hope everyone is doing well

Good morning! Happy Anniversary, diva49,. 1972 was a big year for me too as DH and I got married in February, 1972. doordie50, I'm glad you had fun on the boat this weekend. cyndee, I am sorry about the moths you're having problems with in your house. We had tiny gnats last year and never could find the source. They disappeared this past winter and I hope they don't return. DebDoesWW, YES, we did get rain last night and lots of wind. We got about 1.5" from 11 pm to 5 a.m. and lost 1 branch of our Vitex tree. Cloudy and cool here this morning=heaven! I'm sipping coffee and watching the grass grow! Rain does magical things to our yard.

I'm glad your gnats are gone and hope they don't return. We used to have problems with ants, but figured out how to fix that problem. We just planted some grass seed in our backyard. Yes, the rain is definitely welcome! I've also been glad that we've had enough not to have to water.
