WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

walked to pool, nice walk alone afterwards, walked back to pool with another friend and walked with her afterwards. Could have made my 10,000 if I walked back later for shuffleboard but it started to rain.

Busy, productive day yesterday. It was nice to get so much done at home on a weekday.
Dave got a call from the insurance adjuster last yesterday afternoon. He has scheduled us for July 13. What?! Dave called our State Farm agent, but he was on his way out the door. Hopefully we’ll get the appointment moved up. Roofers are scheduling months ahead, much like other outdoor companies, because of all the rain. We’d like to get the roof scheduled soon. Alex’s landscaping company was three weeks behind, and that was last week. I’m sure it’s worse now. Nick is still out of work because it’s too wet to put new home lawns in.
Nancy, how cool! How did DS land on that show?
Louise, what happened Sunday is the classic relief trigger. I still have to be very mindful of it.
Kathy, the all or nothing mentality is tough to overcome. I’m working on it. I love asparagus and rhubarb!

Nancy, Wow, regarding DS - so cool you got to watch him on your Sunday news show! Proud Momma for sure!! Great to read the news about Beth!! So glad to hear how well she is doing!! Jan, crazy about the tornado...so glad everyone is safe! Hope you can get the date moved up for the repair. Louise, relief trigger for such....it’s what we learn from it and how we handle next time that makes a Hugh difference!! Kathy, all or nothing is a tough one....still working on that but realizing the quicker we get back on track the less we have to repair helps tremendously.... Hi to Cindy.....
Today is our travel day back....not looking forward to it. Took DH to a medical clinic yesterday to get pain med and anti-inflammatory meds. He’s okay sitting but can’t walk or stand without pain. Wish us luck....it’s going to be a long day....

Hi Girlfriends: C1D1 Nancy, Wow Wee!!!!!!! I put that youtube in my notes and am going to send it to Jaxon. Know you are so very proud of DS. Can't believe what all they can do now with it and having a class in school! Jaxon will get a big kick out of it too. That guy doing the cows was so funny! I always enjoyed watching Jaxon add animals and they are so cute. I have such good memories of sitting on Jaxon's bed and him watching him build so many different things. Amazed at how educational it is and the guy making money off of his minecraft youtubes!!!
Oh Lori, so sorry to hear about DH. Hope the meds help. My DH has been taking anti-inflammatory meds for quite some time now, due to shoulder and neck pain. It is working, thank goodness.
I am having so much trouble getting the click. Stayed up til 1am and ate last night. Got to get out of the habit staying up late. Also was thinking this morning my biggest meal is at dinner and seems it just makes me more hungry. That's so weird.
Oh Jan thanks for the recipe, forgot to tell you yesterday after reading about the tornado ya'll had. Gotta run, we are mowing today since it's sunshine! Love ya'll, Cindy

Jan - About a year ago the Sunday Morning show spent a full day in his classroom. It was supposed to air once before but someone died so they replaced it with a memorial segment. Steve is very active with Minefair, the company that puts on the Minecraft conventions. He has produced several of them and frequently travels the country attending, helping with and presenting at the conventions. I assume the show contacted the company and they must have suggested Steve as the best teacher to use for their example. His 16 year old, Leila, has a unique position with the company as well. She contacts what they call "rising stars" on utube with Minecraft and invites them to the conventions then helps them set up their presentations when they arrive. Steve's wife is also involved and when possible Gracie also plays a part at the conventions. A real family affair <g>. TMI?? It's a shame that the roofing appt will take so long. Do you have a leak? As I often say, never a dull moment...
Lori - Will you be getting wheel chair at the airport? Such an upsetting way to end would would have bee a perfect vacation. I'm hoping the trip won't be too difficult.
Cindy - I think that guy makes over a million a year on utube. He was one of Steve's students. I hope Jaxon enjoys the video. Just keep plugging GF and keep hanging out here. You'll figure it out. Celebrate the successful days as there have been many.

Nancy, how cool! It sounds like your family got in at the right time with Minecraft.
Cindy, did you reset? Have fun mowing. Hopefully the mosquitoes aren’t as bad there as they are here.
Lori, what a disappointing way to end your trip.

C40. D3. Pretty good day. All tracked and 60+ minutes of exercise. The graduation cake is now in the freezer. I've been nibbling it 😕.
Kathy Be back in the morning
