Thanks for the start Karen. Surprise, it's raining here! Trump's big rally here is causing all kinds of traffic issues, but I'm not close to it. People waiting in line are probably getting soaked.
After years of coming around 10am or later, the trash pickup started coming right after 6am, so I was up extra early to get my trash out. I contacted the county to see if I could buy one of their approved bear carts that works with their automated pickup trucks. Nope. They won't even sell them at full price. You can only buy one if you are in the "bear management" area which is in the northwest corner of the county and I'm on the northeast side. So, I asked them if they could at least come during daylight hours since we're having bear problems in my neighborhood. Again, nope, they'll come when they want and you need to have the cart out by 6am. Last week, they caught a lot of us off guard with the 6am pickup and I made a mad dash over to DM's to put my trash in her bin! I wasn't able to put it out the week before due to the pavement resealing, so I had two week's worth and didn't want that sitting around for another week. This shouldn't be so difficult!
Google has a cute doodle celebrating falafel. Waving to all. Hope everyone has a good Tuesday.

Municipalities are so free and easy with our tax money, you’d think you could get a little cooperation, Kathy. 6 am is very early. Our instructions are to have the bin out by 7am but sometimes they show up at 6:30. I saw the falafel doodle earlier today. Cute! We had some showers in the morning but have a watery sun out right now. There are a few roads near the rivers that are closed due to high water. I am not looking forward to campaigning. It feels like only yesterday we went through this.

Chele, it feels like the campaigning never ended. Only another year and a half to go. It wasn't quite light out when I put the cart out this morning and I don't feel comfortable walking out there knowing there could be critters wandering around. My neighbor across the street was putting his out at the same time. He also missed the pickup last week. Seems like a lot of places are getting extra rain this year. Hope there is no flooding in your area.
Linda, I find the rallies to be really bizarre and almost like a cult. They definitely shouldn't be done on tax payer dollars since they are political campaigning. I'm also ticked off at the July 4th intrusions. It should be about the country and not him. Sorry about the dental work and don't blame you for being grumpy.

Linda, will you be able to move the collar on the dog so maybe it will look more right? I think you're correct about histamines being produced by off-balance gut bacteria. I'm reading an interesting book right now called The Secret Life of Your Microbiome. I'll let you know what I find out. Great on the drywall being taken care of. The vent fix doesn't sound that difficult. How was the Mexican? We have a lot of those specials in February and March when there aren't many tourists. They also have special pricing for locals on a lot of the local attractions like Dollywood in the "off season". Nice to get a discount and not have to fight the crowds. I saw the Tejava at Amazon, but I can't have caffeine. I make my own herbal teas and have started doing 2 qts a week. This week I have an astragalus, schisandra berry, nettle, oatstraw, hibiscus, and rosehips variety. that's very good and no sugar. I agree about tax payer money and presidential re-elections. Do you remember Nixon's "Salute to America" fiasco on the 4th of July in 1970? We don't have a war going on now like we did then (or at least at the moment), but things definitely did not go well when Nixon tried to do what Trump is trying to do this year. Difference was Nixon wasn't anywhere near the "celebration", but Trump says he will be there. Good luck! And, yes, it's all about him and always has been. That's a long dental appointment. I would be grumpy too. Good for you to say no on something not in your best interest. You are your own unique ecosystem and you know you best. Good idea to carry "peace, love, and harmony in your heart", Liz, but I'll bet at St. Crazy that's not very easy. Was the unna change today? How did the wound look? Has the irritation settled down? How was the WF strawberry shortcake? Sounds wonderful! Kathy, more rain--seriously?? You just can't catch a break! I saw something on the a.m. news about Trump kicking things off in FL but they didn't say where. Glad you aren't affected by all that traffic. Maybe the rain will be a campaign omen. OMG! on the early trash pick up. Good to know that, according to your trash contractor, you don't have a bear problem . Lovely customer service. But when you're the only game in town, I guess you can do it your way. An east facing storm door wouldn't be a good idea and you probably would get the same effect as you get from the towels, if that. Good that you have tile by the door. We have wood and, while we have never had rain blowing in from any door or window, sometimes it's not the best idea from a pup perspective with wet or muddy paws. Throw rugs can only do so much. Google doodle must be broken. I just have the plain vanilla one. We had places around here with long road closures due to flooding, Chele. But it was just flooding and not the extreme weather some of your neighbors had. I only did 25 minutes on the AF because I need to readjust my shoe strings due to decreased circulation. How is winging the menu going? Becky, are you getting more rain like several of the rest of us? How are your fur babies doing? Did you bike and/or walk today? How are things going with the Garmin? I saw the new NP today and I think she is a keeper. She's a former EMT and ER nurse, so we were able to talk the same language. I told her how opposed I am to drugs and she seemed to have no problem with it. I left her some reading material and will meet with her next week regarding lab work. The funniest part of the visit was that my former NP was so anxious to get me on anti-hypertensives, which she thought I needed. So when the tech took my BP today and said, "is your blood pressure usually...." I was expecting her to end the sentence with "high". Nope my BP was low--103/63, in fact. So that will be a non-issue. I did take a chart with BP readings over the last year and a half, and she said most were in the acceptable range (a couple high and a couple low). We've had more rain today and some of it pretty heavy. I think my knees are reacting to the conditions. More rain over the next couple of days so it probably won't get any better for a few days. Last night's meeting was a 180 from last month's. The speaker went for 2 hours, but was interesting so nobody seemed to mind. Business meeting was short, so not many minutes to transcribe. The guy who caused the trouble last month wasn't there, so that was a good thing.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele I hope you are having a good day.
Kathy I'm glad you aren't near the Trump rally.I heard on the radio people were standing in line since last night already.I agree that putting out your trash or getting an approved bear container shouldn't be so difficult. We have an individual picking up our trash once a week and sometimes he isn't even here by noon. He's cheap so we don't say anything.
Linda Your dental work sounds painful.I am glad the Zyrtec seems to be helping somewhat.
Karen We had 1" Sunday night but until Sun or Mon it will be hot and humid. It only got up to 93 today but Wed we are expecting our first 100 degree day.I walked this morning then we went to the vet clinic to get heartgard and flea chewable for Scooter. We needed a few things at WM so I got another 3000 steps in the Bastrop WM plus riding the bike this afternoon. The Garmin is doing well. The fur babies are all fine.I went in the kitchen to start the coffee maker early this morning and Marcie had a mouse in her mouth. She tormented it for awhile and for the first time KK even darted after it.I think they both lost the mouse.I put Scooter out at the time b/c with her getting sick last month I didn't want her to get it.I think Marcie is trying to teach KK how cats act even though KK is older. They were having fun chasing each other this afternoon.I am glad you like the new NP.

Karen, so good to find a medical person you can relate to.
The rally was Orlando..20,000 to off off the campaign that never stopped since 2016. The main Orlando paper came out refusing to endorse him. They said they had had enough after 2.5 years. Must be awkward there today.
