Thanks for the start, Karen. I am happy you found an NP that appreciates your POV where it comes to drugs. I am glad my doctor is a DO. He does not prescribe as freely as my previous MD. Ha! to your previous NP on the BP med. What a relief that the contentious member skipped the meeting. Winging it is fine. I did a stir fry last night and heated some leftover grilled chicken for Iggy to throw in his. It is salad tonight.
Linda, I am sure the dentist office will get over you not letting them take your BP. Sorry it took so long for you to get done. How are you doing today?
Kathy, I saw some of the Trump rally on the news. It sounded just like last time even down to talking about Hillary. Sigh! It is going to be a long year and a half. My DB was watching MSNBC and they showed a graphic of the county where I live and how people voted by a slim margin for Obama twice and then by a slim margin for Trump. They called us a âdeciderâ county. I am sure this means we will see a lot of the candidates. I have been known to take the trash out at 4 in the morning but there are no bears around here.
Becky, I am glad one of your cats knows how to hunt. My two were more like Garfield. My GFâs family from HS had a cabin in the Catskills and I was invited one summer. They took their indoor city cat a d let him oit in the woods and he brought us a bunny, a bird and a snake. The bunny and snake were still alive.
Liz, I hope all went well yesterday at the doctorâs office. May the force be with you.
This afternoon I am going for a haircut. I just did some vacuuming and light exercise this morning. I think I pulled a side muscle yesterday changing a light bulb in a ceiling fixture. I had a real ladder but still had to stretch to reach the screws to remove the glass cover. I did not feel anything yesterday but woke up and when I tried to get out of bed I could feel it. It only hurts when I try to stand or reach for something, so you know what Iggy said. Yup. Donât do that. The air show is this weekend, so from tomorrow through Sunday, Iggy will be entertaining clients. I wonât see much of him.

Good Morning Chicks and thanks for the start Karen. Just stopping in quickly to say hello and see how all are doing. Chele - OUCH on the pulled muscle! They can be tricky and tough to heal. Enjoy your haircut and hope you find some interesting things to do for you while Iggy is doing the client entertaining. Karen - Hallelujah on the new NP and finding a medical person who speaks your language. We are 98-100% humidity and temps going up. I can't stand this weather! The hospital is continuing to be full and the ED rocking as well. The doc put me on an antibiotic as the irritation was still there from Friday and was warm. Had the dressing changed and she cleaned the little bit of ooze that was there. Will see her again on Friday for another dressing change. Had the ultrasound done on the right leg so she can ask for approval for the injection on that leg as well. The injection seems to have gone really well so far which is a good thing. The pain in the ankle and my knees not so good! So tired of hurting that it's not funny!! Can't even take anything to help because of the blood thinner; grrrrrrrrrr. Kathy - so sorry your state was invaded with those fans of our current president. Glad you're not near the rally. Hope the rain has subsided somewhat and that the temperatures will moderate at least slightly. Linda - another OUCH on the dental work for you! How are you feeling today? The gov''t uses tax payers money in so many ridiculous and inappropriate ways that I can't stand it. No more raises for anyone in Congress or the Senate and maybe they should actually remember that they are supposed to represent the people; not themselves or their or agendas! (rant over)! What's the latest with the AC? Becky - chuckling about Marcie and KK and the mouse. Many, many years ago when my dad was alive and was breeding black labs, he would tell a hunting story of the newest lab he took into the field that brought back not only his birds but everyone else's birds! There were some hot tempered hunters until Dad explained and returned them . How are the knees doing? The injection site? Okay gals, I have to run...alright maybe hobble badly to fight the forces of evil! Have a safe and good day! Ciao for now~

Kathy, Publix has Ben & Jerry's on BOGO this week. Be warned! I didn't hear any reports of violence at the rally but did see there was a group of white supremacist group marching there. Hope they all went home after the event.
Good to see you, Liz. Happy to hear that things are going well with the injection and hope the next one will be even better. Is there a minimum time frame between injections? Sorry St. Crazy is still crazy. When do the layoffs being?
Chele, OUCH on the muscle. Guess you needed a taller ladder. Is the pain in a place that you could put heat on it? Keep moving! Hope it didn't hurt to drive to your appointment. I'm about 2 weeks overdue for a hair cut but Dale was gone last week and my stylist is on vacation this week. So I'll have to wait until next Tuesday. Winging it for dinner seems to be working well. Enjoy your salads. Is it still raining there? We have had on and off showers for most of the day and I have to go to pick up the CSA order in about an hour, so I will probably get into some along the way. YIKES! on the vacationing cat. Hope the bunny was uninjured enough that it was able to hope away and happy the live snake was apparently not poisonous. A friend of mine lost her 18 year old kitty a few months ago and said "never again!" Yesterday they got the most adorable Persian from a local breeder. Never say never! I was rather relieved that the troublemaker didn't show up at the meeting the other night. Of course, that still leaves us short a treasurer. As you can imagine, when the president announced that we need a new treasurer, nobody raised their hand.
Is this a less grumpy day, Linda? Is the new vent getting installed tomorrow? Did you go to the museum today?
Becky, that's so funny on your kitties. Did they just play with the mouse? Scooter definitely did not need to be involved in that. Has KK been successful in teaching Marci the ways of catdom? I wish I could find Arya an older dog to teach her dog ways. She still has a lot of cat mannerisms, where Phoebe was all dog.
We have clean clothes and clean sheets, I'm cooking beans for Dale and, after I get home with the CSA stuff, I will cook him broccoli. My goal today was to do the minutes from the other night but haven't gotten that far. I also need to send out the committee stuff we're working on that I said I would get out today. Better get off here and do that while it's on my mind.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele Out of all the cats we have had over the years we have only had 2 hunters. The first one would lay outside the bathroom cabinet waiting for one to come out if he heard them.Since cats don't sleep much at night Marcie hears things while we are sleeping and she goes after them.It can be any kind of bug.It doesn't have to be a mouse.I don't think she killed this one b/c last night she and KK were both looking under my recliner.Who knows where it is now.I am sure you were really happy to see the snake the cat brought back.I hope your side muscle feels better soon and enjoy your haircut.
Liz LOL on the lab bringing back everyone's birds.I hope you feel better soon.I guess the knees are some better.I have learned to slow down my walking when they start to hurt.
Karen Cats like to torment mice before they go in for the kill. They let it go a little way and then pounce again or carry it around in their mouth. That was Marcie was doing when I first saw it.This isn't the first mouse she has gotten but she usually keeps better track of them when she lets them go.This was a larger one than the ones she usually gets. They have only been baby mice before. While he definitely wasn't a grown mouse he was a good size.Actually Marcie is the younger cat that is teaching the older cat KK how to do things.I think Marcie may have been in the cattery longer than KK before she was adopted. We have decided as expensive as it is when Scooter gets hurt or sick we will not be getting another dog for her.I would love to but it's hard enough when it's hot to have one dog and 2 cats in the house.
Waving to Kathy and Linda.

Chele, maybe Trump thinks Hillary is running this time too. He sure talks about her enough. Your county sounds like our whole state. It always seems to be a slim margin no matter who wins. Throw in some counties who can't seem to run their elections right and it's always fun. My county is blue, but it's surrounded by red. Ouch on the sciatica and great advice from Iggy. Hope it's not too sore tomorrow. Liz, another day, another downpour, lol. DM and I managed to get caught in it during our grocery run again. This time it was on the way out and we got "helped" by someone from Publix. The guy just had a raincoat and no umbrella, so he unloaded the groceries while we got into the car and everything was dripping wet. I think I'll pass on that kind of help next time! So sorry you're still dealing with so much pain and I know that has to be tough with your commute. I did wonder how many of the people at the rally were from out of town, but didn't hear any numbers. It looked like there were actually a good number of empty seats. Glad that's over with no violence. Karen, that's great that you liked the NP. I saw the white supremacist group marching in. They got stopped by some cops on bicycles which made for a pretty bizarre picture. Hope they've crawled back into their holes by now. Now that I know about the B&J BOGO, it will be hard to resist! I like that newer Ben & Jerry's ice milk which is a much lower fat/calorie version of some of their other flavors. Maybe DM and I will split the BOGO. I found the Teavana iced tea in Publix, but just got one of the unsweetened ones to try. I won't be buying it again unless they have a good sale since it was pretty expensive. Linda, I went to high school with the guy that's heading up the Orlando paper's editorial board. I wonder if Trump even saw yesterday's editorial. Glad your tests went well. We're cooler than normal due to all this rain, but for us that means we're in the 80s. 105 is still hot! Becky, nice picture. I'm sure it would be fun to have another dog, but sounds like you have a full house with Scooter and the cats. One of my neighbor's cats used to bring her catches to my mom for some reason. I still remember my mom's face when the cat laid a bird at her feet.

Becky, nice to see your smiling face. My GFâs DM and I were in Adirondack chairs when Pookie (the cat) brought us the snake. We both screamed and I jumped up into the chair until it slithered off. That was the first time I saw a snake in the âwild.â Pookie had also jumped off the fridge and onto my shoulder back in my GFâs apartment in the Bronx. I think he liked to tease me. I hope the kitties catch the mouse for you.
Liz, I am sorry to hear you are on antibiotics and I hope the infection clears quickly. The same is true for Iggy and pain relief. He is also on a blood thinner. Chronic pain would make me grumpy chronically. I admire your strength to get through it. Fingers crossed the approval for the injection comes soon. Too funny about the young Lab fetching ALL the birds.
Linda, good news on your heart being fine and your mouth feeling better. It sounds like the museum will be busy for the next few weeks. Wild Wednesday, huh? The back is starting to stiffen and bending was difficult this afternoon. I am hoping a good nightâs sleep will ease everything up.
Karen, I didnât think there would be a volunteer for the treasurerâs position. The rain just started about an hour ago and I heard some thunder. I made it to the stylist and home with no rain. Driving was not painful. Getting out of the car was more painful than getting in. Heat never works for me when it comes to muscle pain. I usually have to ice everything. Heat seems to increase my pain level. I used to say Teddy was more like a cat than a dog. Iggy has become enamored with the Dutch sheepdog. Unfortunately, the closest breeder is in Ontario.
Iggy finally found me a car phone mount that attaches to the air vent that works and does not pop off. It also moves so you can have the phone horizontally or vertically. This is great when using the phone for navigation as I can actually see the map. It also fits my phone with the case on. The brand is Square Jellyfish and he found it on Amazon in case you need one. The hair feels better all shaped up. For once, I was the therapist to my stylist rather than the other way around. She said âThanks for the hairapy.â Ha!

Thanks Linda,Chele and Kathy.
Linda I'm glad your mouth is much better today. That is always good news being told to go home and come back if you need us.My grandfather died of hardening of the arteries but back then they didn't have all the knowledge they have now.We are only at 95 today but heat index is at 112.Tomorrow expecting 99-100.
Chele I haven't even heard the mouse so hopefully it went outside.I am with you when I strain something or even with my knees.Heat never helps but ice does. This time of yr ice would probably feel better here.I am glad Iggy found you a phone mount.LOL on the hairapy.
Liz I hope the ABX helps.I know what you mean about chronic pain.It can be very draining.I don't know how you work with your constant pain.

Becky, I'm allergic to most cats, so I have never was around one when they were hunting. Interesting that Marcie is teaching KK how to be a cat. Do you know anything about Marcie's background, like if she might have been picked up as a stray, so more time in the wild that KK had? Do you think the mice are hatching under the house and that's why they typically bring in little ones? I like your new avatar.
Contrats on the cardiac test, Linda. I always like it when they say, "call us if ya need us." When is your thyroid scan? Enjoy your "cooler" weather. I'll bet the museum is busy all summer with kids. Good thing you work behind the scenes.
Kathy, I thought the same thing about Trump thinking he was going to face Hillary again. Maybe he doesn't know the new candidates, except Warren, Biden, and Sanders, well enough to trash them yet. Only a matter of time. I think Kamala Harris could clean his clock. 95% of TN is red, so I can relate. We were in a red county in NC as well, but there were more blue pockets there. I hope all the out of towners have left your town by now. I saw a few clips on MSNBC today but didn't watch any more of it. I'm looking forward to next week's debates. Hate that you got caught in the rain coming out of the store. I have a very large L.L. Bean boat tote that I use as my primary grocery bag and it stays relatively dry unless it gets over packed and stands wide open. Is your Publix encouraging people to bring their own bags? I get thanked now every time I bring my bags (which is every time I shop anywhere). Sorry (not sorry) on warning you about next week's ad. I think I will get a couple pints of the B&J non-dairy Cherry Garcia and save one for the master gardener ice cream social in August. Which Teavana did you get? I think the only one mine has is the Green Tea Peach, which I can't drink because of the caffeine in the green tea. I figured it was probably pretty pricey. I heard that it's cheaper at WM but I don't go there unless I absolutely need something and they are the only ones who carry it. Haven't checked at the Neighborhood Market yet, however.
Pookie sounds like a naughty kitty, Chele. I wasn't expecting someone to step up to become treasurer either, but it would have been nice. Congrats on getting to and from your appointment in dry weather. I did the same with my CSA order pick up, surprisingly. I am hearing thunder right now and we have an 80% chance of rain tomorrow, so I don't have much chance of staying out of it on my weekly Knoxville trip. I figured either getting in or out of the car would not be good. I was having the same problem getting in after I landed my butt on the rocks by the lake a couple of weeks ago. It's feeling better but still not back to normal yet. Enjoy your new phone mount. I have one similar and just have to remember to tighten it every now and then so it doesn't fall off, given the rough roads I have to drive on. I've never seen a Dutch Sheepdog. I'm surprised Iggy is interested in a dog so much larger than Teddy was. Is there a rescue group for that breed in the US? When I had my heart set on a Welsh Springer Spaniel, which is a fairly rare breed in the US, I was lucky enough to find a breeder about an hour west of Knoxville, so only about 4.5 hours from where we lived at the time. When does Iggy start entertaining clients?
My arm has been bothering me where I had my blood draw yesterday. After she made the puncture, she was having to hold down above the vein she chose, so I guess it's irritated. I've been putting heat on it but it's not helping much. I hope it doesn't give me problems at Osteo tomorrow. After my appointment, I need to go to a big greenhouse there to see if they have a better pot for my new plant. I talked to my GF Monday who is the succulent expert and she said I need a pot with drainage holes, which the one I have does not. Since I am going to hang it up, it will also need an attached saucer. They have a lot of pots so I hope I can find one that will work. Dale decided not to take the company up on their offer of a sabbatical or part time. He said he's just not that into the work he's doing so no reason to prolong the agony. At this point, he will be working through the end of July.
