Had to do a doubletake before realizing you meant personal training and not physical therapy. I actually treat my sessions as physical therapy . I would start to make excuses / bail out unless I had a really strong mental connection to an ongoing WHY. So I consider it PhysTher for rehabbing my right shoulder in particular and my overall strength after all those years of desk-sitting. I'm also finding it useful to burn off some of the anger / frustration over the school thing. BTW - there was a simple "thank you" note - blank - on the table for his teacher. He originally didn't want to write anything, unlike the past two years where he stretched himself to thank Mrs. Glagola and Mrs. Smythe. But I mentioned "hope you have a good summer" as an option and after a while he went, unprompted, and wrote "I hope you have a WONDERFUL summer. From Christopher" and he added a ball-point pen from his personal supply as a gift. On his way to school I took his picture - smiling! - and sent it to MissMouse, who did want an image to memorialize today. GMTA. He will survive all of this nonsense (and he will get assistance over the summer to develop coping skills). He's bid for McDonald's for lunch after we pick him up at 1:10 PM, and then I am going to let him do some painting here. Toots & I are going to build a list of stuff that he can help with - painting, gardening, cleaning - in addition to more typical summer fun-ish things. And of course, that means MousekeTWO, too. It's pouring rain here. Must go check the basement. We've taken MousekeTWO to ShopRite, and HE picked out flowers for a bouquet for MissMouse - so SHE can have an end-of-school pick-me-up, too.

cathygeha Yes, you are creating great memories with your daughter. My first canning experience here in Fresno was plum jam. One of Bob's partners, recently divorced, had a plum tree and no idea what to do with them. I can remember blasting rock and roll albums and making jam with my two daughters. My husband must have been gone or outside or he wouldn't like the loud music I'm too lazy to can now because others give me jam or I buy low sugar fruit spread from a great place when we go to the coast. @susi25679 smart idea to stay home when streets are flooded.

Ann - It was supposed to have cleared out here by now but it's still raining. No walking for me either. That's a great way to look at the PT. How sweet about the card and the flowers. Learning coping skills will help. When Sandy hit in 2012, my 1 month old car was in 4' of water. I replaced it with the exact same car because I liked it so much. July 17th (or so) 2013 I was on my way to the gym at 5 a.m. It was torrential rains and as I was going through a jughandle, the drain couldn't keep up and a wall of water came at the car. I turned it up into a higher parking lot but it was too little too late. I got the windows down before it died. Water was up to the driver seat but because of the angle only my ankles on the passenger side. Police got there quickly to block the intersection so no one else drove into it. It was about 45 minutes before I could get out of the car. By the next afternoon, I bought an SUV.

OMG Susi.....you are remarkable going through all of that. I am not a 'good passenger' let alone driver!!!!! MJ warmed my heart reading about the card pen and flowers
Yeah to your workout, Pam!
Audrey we had a grape vine in our back yard and I remember my mom and gramma making both jelly and jam. Me? Never picked up that knack. It was a LOT of work. I'm also a fan on the lower sugar varieties out there. Our weather has been all over the map today. Right now it's sunny but extremely humid. I won't even sit in the screen room in this type of weather. I'm sitting here listening to sunny radio via Alexa Those songs are making me smile as I remember days gone by.....

Cathy You and your DD are making wonderful memories.
Ann I am sorry you didn't sleep well.(((hugs))).
Susi Our local grocery store is a chain grocery only in TX and not as big as some of the others so I always just get in steps while I'm shopping.I walked at 8:00 and it was already 80 but with a light breeze even with the humidity it wasn't too bad.I have been in the AC since we came back from town and did the recumbent bike.I don't blame you for not driving in the rain to the gym.
Ann I'm sorry the weather didn't cooperate enough for you to get in a hood walk.
MJ That was nice of M including the pen in his note.I don't think I could have said thank you either. How nice on the flowers for Miss Mouse.
Susi OMG on your experiences with flash flooding.I don't blame you for not wanting to drive in it again.
Pam Good for you on the workout.
Ann I am glad you are enjoying the music.
I was down 1.6 this week.I don't know if it's a maintainable weight for me so if I gain next week I know what is going on.I haven't done anything different to lose but maybe walking with all the humidity we have had this week is making me sweat it off.LOL.

Becky, our body never stays exactly the same so the 1.6 loss is there from whatever and if it stays or disappears it happens from whatever too. As long as you don't go up +5 from where you want to be, all is well. Susi, I see flooding like that and it scares me. When I was in Tuscon the weather reporters kept referring to the start of monsoon weather. It has always been like this in the Southwest but it isn't like India where it rains for days and days. It is their way of dramatizing the weather that can cause serious flash flooding. It happens throughout parts of AZ, NM and Nevada. MJ, Christopher did well to thank his teacher and give her the pen. One thing about bullies is they do not change so hopefully they will be in different classes next year. A bully sees someone as a target and doesn't stop. Parents are often in denial about what they're child says and does. My sweet neighbor Aiden was been bullied by a boy a year older until Aiden's older sister when to the bully's house and said she would beat the crap out of him if he ever did anything to her brother again. It worked like a charm though when Aiden's mom approached the bully's mother, that woman went on and on about how her good boy was an A student blah, blah, blah and would never be mean. I've had too much experience dealing with bullies when I taught to think they could be easily reformed. I have my new phone a 10R and came home to find a lovely flower arrangement from the lady I had lunch with Wednesday thanking me for everything I've done for her. In the past 5 years she lost her husband who had a heart attack and a son who committed suicide. She herself has had many health issues. There as no name on the card but I called the florist and they told me who sent the arrangement. I intended to deadhead roses but it is already 86 so I will do it tomorrow morning while the AC is being repaired.

Audrey Nice of the friend to send you flowers.I'm not concerned about the loss.I was surprised after maintaining the same weight for 2 weeks. When I do lose now it's usually just tenths of a pound a week so a nice surprise.

Becky luckily I was able to take a nice nap earlier in the day which won't interfere with bedtime I'll take a Tylenol PM pill to help me along. My mind is just too 'busy' these days. Good job on the weight loss. You just never know what that tin goddess is going to say LOL. I do agree with Audrey....our bodies are forever changing. I'm shocked that I've maintained the same weight 3 days in a row. That normally NEVER happens! Audrey that must have made to feel good to be so appreciated I don't blame you for waiting till tomorrow to work in the garden. Glad your AC will be repaired. I'm with you on the bully situation. Some just can't be reformed! Well, I'm about ready to get jammified and read a bit. Enjoy the rest of your day, all!

jamescat1, No music for DD and I as we pickled and canned. I have made a LOT of preserves in the past but then dieting don't feel I can eat them. This year I will eat some daily (maybe) and enjoy them rather than deprive myself. In the past gave most of the preserves away.
