WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

16 points 1675 calories plus an isolated homemade cookie 16 APs
I’m taking dinner to a neighbor and his wife who was recently diagnosed with leukemia, so I made cookies. I haven’t made this kind in years, so I enjoyed one. I hade a few tastes of batter, too.
All damages will be covered by HOI. Of course there is a $1200 deductible. Truth be told, it was time for a new grill anyway. The adjuster can’t come until July 13, but we’re on standby if he has a cancellation.
Nancy, I think the last time I weighed was March of 2018. I was in the 150’s, don’t remember the exact number. I would guess I’m about 145 right now. I was a little bigger in my early 30’s and weighed 135. Doing weights makes a difference. I would guess I’d like to lose about five more pounds.
Lori, you will have that weight off in no time at all. It seems that weight that is gained quickly is also lost quickly. Great job keeping that number to a minimum! I hope DH finds relief with th chiropractor. I’m guessing he will.
Cindy, as mentioned to Nancy, I don’t weigh myself. I learned years ago that it becomes an obsession for me and can lead to bingeing and purging. That’s a road I don’t want to go down again. We have three acres. I don’t usually help mow, but I am allowed to clean up sticks :-) We are finally getting mulch this weekend. I can’t wait. I’m looking forward to having everything look nice for our party next weekend.

Jan - When we recently had a leak, the roof (because of the type of damage) wasn't covered, but the whole spackling and paint job resulting from it was. The adjuster was nice enough to cover part of the roof to make up the $500 deductible. The roof, though, was out of pocket for us. My highest weight ever was in 2000 at 162 (home WI). My lowest since then was 136, so a 25 lb loss. When I joined this forum in Dec of 2009, I was at 152.8. So you BFFs are responsible for 16 lbs. I hate to think where I would be if not for all of you. Heartfelt thanks!!

I can't seem to get enough roasted veggies. Last night made a hugh batch of spinach, broccoli, peppers/onions and tomatoes - I had them along with my leftover chicken kebab/rice - YUM!!...When eating out and traveling, I really do miss my veggies!
Cindy, thanks for asking...DH is getting impatient and tired of sitting around - he want's a quick fix and we know these things take time. Luckily, he did like the chiro and goes back today. From the x-ray he seems to have a lot of issues (I'm not surprised). He'll find out the treatment and schedule today. Glad to hear no snakes!!
Nancy, great job keeping your treats in control!! My highest weight was 190, Don't remember when I joined this group..2013 WI was 163. You BFFs are responsible for getting my to were I am today (my happy place!!) and controlling my binging!! Can't express enough what a life changer it has been and what you All mean to me!!!
Jan, Sorry to hear about your neighbor, nice of you to bring dinner. Great job keeping the cookie making under control! Glad insurance will be cover damage minus deductible - We have been getting prices for a new roof, wish I only had to pay the deductible....but I know when unexpected it can be hard to dish out the $ Praying for good weather for the Graduation party!! Enough of this rain... I think it's great that you don't weigh yourself. You know how you feel! I use to drive myself crazy with the number, now 2x a week WI is working out well. We all have to find what works best for us.

Dropping by to say "hi" - I got sucked in with the conversation about weighing yourself. I think this is the biggest mistake I made with "dieting/not dieting/trying to diet/giving up, etc" I always tried to follow someone's plan and finally had to find the plan that was good for me.
For some the scale is a wonderful tool - for people like me it was torture no matter what the number was. I have now found a reasonable path with the scale.
Also, going from bingeing and wanting sweets all the time to trying to go on a restrictive plan was always fatal. Just left me with a feeling of being punished for doing something "bad". When I read about someone restricting drastically and then falling over and over again, I so identify. When I stopped dieting things settled down into a lovely plan for living and being healthy. I like to read this thread and think it is wonderful how you have all supported one another and found your own "recovery plan" Marie

Lori - I hope you are extremely proud of yourself. 50 lbs. Wow!! Do you use the air fryer for roasting your veggies? And do you then refrigerate them and consume over a week or so? How much trouble do you have keeping the air fryer clean? I tend to use a broiling pan covered in tin foil with a rack. And lately I've been using tin foil pans from the dollar store. No matter what I do the broiling pan gets stained. That's why I'm afraid to use the air fryer. I'm open to suggestion.
Marie - Always to nice to see your posts. I weigh myself first thing each morning but luckily I've never been obsessive about it. If the weight is down, I'm motivated to keep it going. If it's up, I'm motivated to get back on track. What you say is so true. We each have to find our own way. I do find that WW has been stressing more and more that we ease up on ourselves, avoid the perfection mentality, never allowing ourselves to feel deprived. How we tailor the program to our own needs varies from person to person. There is no right or wrong. Our leader suggest that we stop "shoulding" all over ourselves <g>.
