This weekend I really need to do some morning catching up in the yard before it gets hotter. Not much got done while I was sick, he was sick, or we were constantly going to appointments.
Today we are off to Phoenix to the German bakery and butcher before they close for vacation.

Have fun at the bakery, Linda.
It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood so I have been out all day in the sun. This weekend brings rain again. I found a beautiful pair of skimmers that can be “dressed up” for a casual lunch or dinner. Of course on me they are more like capris since they aren’t petite. GF and I had lunch at Cheesecake Factory. They have a Skinnylicious ™ menu and I got the shrimp tacos with escabeche (pickled) vegetable salad. Boy was it surprisingly delicious for under 600 calories.
I need to do a few things. I hope to be back later. Have a great Friday. It is international Yoga Day.

The sun is out and the heat has returned. It's up to 95 now with a feels like of 101. Ugh. We're not expecting rain until Tuesday, so I guess I'll need to put the sprinklers on for my next watering day which is Sunday. The heat scorches the grass in a hurry even after all the rain we had.
I saw more on the killing of the ducks in the neighborhood. The HOA is investigating it since it sounds like the guys that did it came on someone else's property without permission. There's also the issue of who released the ducks in the first place since that's illegal. I don't know if they'll find a resolution to it. One duck survived and I saw him wandering around looking kind of lost yesterday.
Hope everyone has a great Friday. It's also the first day of summer, so I guess the heat is right on cue. 🌞

Thanks for the start Karen.
Linda Have fun at the German bakery.
Chele I'm glad you finally have sun today.I am glad you enjoyed lunch with your GF.
Kathy It's 93 here with a heat index of 105 or more. That was at noon.I'm glad your HOA is investigating the duck situation.
I was down 1.6 this week.I haven't tried to lose and I'm not doing anything different but I guess my morning walks in the heat and humidity are sweating it off of me.LOL.I don't think it's a maintainable weight for me so if I'm up next week I will know why.I think I'm going to try freestyle again just to see if I can maintain on it since I was never able to lose on it.
Waves to all.

Linda, good luck with the yard work this weekend. I hope you don't have a jungle. What did you get at the bakery? Did Bob get his CT scan results back and can they do something to correct the problem? Thanks for the info on the blackberry recall. I'm very happy that it's fresh blackberry season here, so I don't have to deal with frozen ones. Odd that it's another norovirus recall. Does Stone Henge also do Winter Solstice?
How are your temps, Chele? We are supposed to have rain tonight and maybe some into tomorrow as well. But I hope I can get out on Sunday and do some planting. I brought home a very leggy Tulsi Basil from the greenhouse yesterday and I bought a self-watering pot to put it in. I don't think we have a Cheesecake Factory near here, so I hope you enjoyed the tacos and veggie salad for both of us. 600 calories isn't bad. How do you think the sodium was? Happy International Yoga Day. I did my part this morning. I hope Iggy doesn't get home too awfully late tonight.
Kathy, I'll be interested on what you hear about the continuing duck saga. I'll bet nobody will step up to claim responsibility for releasing them. Poor lonely duck. One of the geese that was shot by the neighbor had a mate, so I know that look of a lonely, forlorn water fowl. So sad. Got anything going on this weekend other than setting up the sprinklers for Sunday? Sorry it's been either feast or famine for you rainwise.
Congrats on the loss, Becky. Your weight still seems to be fluctuating from time to time so, if your current weight isn't maintainable, it will probably tick up next week. How hot and humid has it been during your walks te last few days? Any rain in your forecast?
I went to the estate sale and it was more like a garage sale. The guy was a wood carver and I bought a couple of hand-carved egrets with rebar for legs. I also found a dolphin that we also think is wood that has a green patina-like stain. They had a wooden statue of 2 dolphins jumping on a wave that was the same green patina and I thought about getting it as well but didn't think it would fit in the car and wasn't sure where I would put it anyway. The beak on one of the egrets needs a little touch up, and there is a crack on the dolphin's snout, so Dale will repair them and put clear coat on them since they will be positioned outdoors. They also had 500 8 x 8 boxes--yes, boxes--of fan pulls. I don't want to think about how many thousands there were. I don't know if they sold them or collected them. I got into Dollywood traffic coming home. After the rain we've been having, all the tourists decided to go to Dollywood on the same day. It took me 1/2 hour longer to get home than it usually does. I met my friend and her DM and we had a nice lunch. I did manage to cut myself off at 6 chips by breaking them into much smaller pieces and talking more that stuffing my face. Interesting assortment of veggies in the fajitas. I expected summer squash, onions, and bell peppers, but the peppers were pretty tough to find and there really weren't that many onions. There were lots of undercooked carrot medallions and chopped celery, which I didn't expect. No mushrooms, which was a surprise. I will add them when I have the leftovers, as I probably have enough for 3 more meals. I ate a little of the beans, a spoonful of rice (wasn't that great), and had a little guacamole, lettuce, and tomato. As I was heading out the door, Dale requested that I bring him enchiladas and he is running in the a.m., so he'll save those for tomorrow's dinner. We are expecting more storms over night so I hope they don't wake us up. If Arya hears hard rain (doesn't mind thunder that much), she gets very anxious and we all are suddenly awake. Sometimes I try to cuddle her and it calms her down, but not always. I hope she sleeps well tonight because I'm really tired for some reason.

Linda, interesting that the blackberries were not distributed to Tennessee but the mixed berries were. I don't think I've seen the Tipton Grove brand at our WM.
