NO EXCUSES
* This is a daily thread for those who want to live by the philosophy that you CAN be ON PLAN EVERY DAY, whether you are doing SFT or counting points for ALL foods! * You aren't doing this to brag; you are doing it for YOU! Because YOU are WORTH IT and because WW has made this totally DOABLE! * WW gives you a lot of freedom and a LOT of options that make it quite possible to live this lifestyle EVERY DAY. * You know that this philosophy keeps you on the straight and narrow. If you give yourself an excuse to go off plan today, there will ALWAYS be another excuse tomorrow. * SO, there are NO EXCUSES!!! * This is your LIFESTYLE and it is a lifestyle you enjoy and you live it daily. * Hopefully your participation here will not only inspire YOU but will inspire OTHERS too! YES, you CAN be ON PROGRAM EVERY DAY.

Solutions, Not Excuses
“It’s snowing.”“The dog ate my shoes.”“My walking partner moved.” Dump the barriers to active living.Focus on solutions instead! • “No time.” Fit active living “in between”; even 10 minutes here and there make a difference.Try for 60 minutes daily. • “Sweating ruins my hair.”Enjoy rigorous activity after work or on weekends when you can “let your hair down.” • “Too tired.”Moving more just may boost your energy and release tension. • “Too old to start.” You’re never too old! Do whatever matches your skill and interest.Work up from slow walking to moderate walking to brisk walking. • “Not athletic.” That’s okay. Do what “moves” you: an active hobby, home repairs, dog walking. • “No place to exercise nearby.” You can walk nearly anywhere: around the parking lot, down the corridor, in a park. Or march in place, swinging your arms, while you watch your favorite TV show. • “Healthy and trim without it!” Remember: Being trim or having a BMI of 18.5 to 25 isn’t necessarily being fit. Regular physical activity lowers risk for many health problems.
Any of these excuses sound familiar? If not,jot down your excuses and commit to finding a solution for each!
Question: What excuses have you used in the past and what have you told yourself to get moving instead?

I admit that I am one who has never really enjoyed activity - well - not for many years. I enjoyed water skiing in summer and snow skiing in winter and playing when younger but as an adult - not so much. My excuses are usually: too hot, too cold, don't have the right thing to wear, don't have hot water for a shower if I sweat - I usually listen to my excuses and don't exercise.

I worry about ice this season, especially black ice. I walk the dogs and they pull. I can't afford to go down. I do go out in the rain. And the cold. Time is another excuse I use. I do get up very early so that I can get it all done but sometimes other stuff comes up. It's more important now so I seem to have fewer excuses and I've incorporated it into my routine. I did get to walk to my meeting Saturday morning in the snow. That's also part of my routine and I was uncomfortable changing it.

Sometimes I take the 'day off' too far. My other favorites are 'too busy' and 'too tired'.
But you know me. I love my classes! and love walking when the weather cooperates. (Unfortunately that rules out several months of the year.)

Travel can sometimes get me outta the loop if I can't get enough walking or something in my schedule. I have been doing a bit less lately with the snow/ice/slush issues but did get to gym yesterday. I am not really so much of an excuses guy. Injuries, fatigue and such can take their toll. I have done "OK" with the weather and anything will help my mood.

I didn't get a dedicated walk in today. I spent about two hours in Walmart then came home for lunch and followed that by the supermarket run. Most of the time when I don't exercise it's because I don't feel like it. No other excuse necessary. I do know how important it is and it seems like it's a needed component for me to lose weight. I am happy that I have three opportunities a week to skate, although I have skipped some of them also. The skating here is in a break for the holidays. The arena near DM's has two public sessions a day throughout Christmas week so I hope to get in two sessions while I'm there.
