Karen, thanks for the start. My bell peppers got clobbered by the hail on Memorial Day and I wasnât sure if they would flower since they have not grown much but a couple of them have flowers now. The potted tomatoes have flowered despite the chipmunks using the pots as lawn chairs. You can see their indentation in the dirt. You did get a lot of gardening done. How are the arms? While Iggy was working on the planter, I weeded but it is my back that hurts today. Kathy, too bad you didnât get the free offer. MFP is good, though, and free if you donât get the pro version. That is cool about JoAnn Morgan being an acquaintance and that she is getting the recognition she deserves. Becky, congrats on getting a free month. You are right about deserving it after all these years. How is freestyle going? Linda, I hope you make it to art class today and that this week is more typical. Liz, thinking of you and hope that the leg improves this week. Oh, HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEEK! I just got through prepping zucchini and butternut squash for roasting for tonightâs dinner. Before that I actually made some phone calls that I have put off for a couple of weeks to the HRA company, the doctor and Spectrum. I am waiting for the doctorâs office to return my call but the other two are resolved. Spectrum is going to credit is for the week we went without TV and internet service, if you can believe that. I spoke to the chattiest and nicest customer service rep I have ever gotten hold of. I am off to do my back stretches. TTFN.

Chele, that's great that your veggies appear to be recovering after the storm a few weeks ago. LOL about being able to see the little tush marks from the chipmunks. Nice that they are just sitting there, as opposed to the bunny that appears to have eaten my dill all the way to the soil. I don't think tomato plants are a favorite food of many wild critters other than insects. I did get a lot done in the garden yesterday. Sorry Iggy was one board short on the planter. Sounds like he was too tired anyway. How's the sore back? Enjoy the dinner squash. What will it be accompanying? Nice to get a customer service person who is actually pleasant. That's rare for a cable company. Was the HRA rep at least cordial? Did the doctor's office call back?
Did you go to class today, Linda? How is the puppy painting going? Are you managing to stay on course to make the digestive system happy?
Liz, do you have any special plans for your birthday? Any chance you're taking the day off like I always did when I worked?
Sorry WW didn't deem you worthy of a free month, Kathy. You know I like MFP best of all the apps I've tried. How was the CNN special last night? I didn't watch it because it was on at the same time as Fear the Walking Dead, which I'm so-so on but Dale likes it. I am the same way about expecting certain expectations for veggies at a Mexican place. The carrot medallions were unexpected. We are under a severe thunderstorm watch until this evening. No rain yet, but it's on its way. I had bright sunshine when I swam this morning, but that disappeared about lunch time. Some friends of mine had a really good Chinese (my friend's life partner is from China and is a chef) restaurant in Vegas that was similar to the sweet potato/black bean restaurant--great food but lousy location.
Becky, so Scooter isn't afraid of thunder but just uncomfortable with it? What happens when you and Kenneth are gone and a storm pops up? I hope your heat index has cooled a bit.
I swam a little over 3/4 mile this morning and the water felt really good. I'm getting to where I know the areas to stay away from, such as a couple of trees close to the surface and where things are a bit more shallow and I have to stay farther away from the shore. I made Arya her weekly eggs and steamed Dale potatoes from the CSA, both in the IP. I also did 3 loads of laundry and they are put away. Hope everyone is enjoying National Pralines Day. When they announced it on the news this morning, they said that the original pralines in France were made with almonds and when they came to NO, pecans were more prevalent, so they changed the type of nuts that were used. I can't imagine a praline with any nut but pecans.

Wow, Karen, you did a lot.
Chele, i put off phone calls too. Press one if you want to talk to us! Press two if you are somebody ease. Press three if you wish to make threats. Press four if you wish to pay a bill but we do not take credit cards on the phone only bank wires. Press five for operator...which takes you back to this.Press six to hear this again because somebody there started talking to you or hang up because you would rather suck on very hot peppers than hear it again.
Redid the feet on the dogs in my painting and added necessary shadows. art teacher likes it, so back to parrots and macaws for DH next week. Got to Costco for a paper run and a rotisserie chicken, the bank and a shirt dog walk since it was not too hot yet and will be 105 at five.
I put my hand down in the sidewalk and hold it there at least five seconds. too hot for me means too hot for dog. Most of the walk has grass next to the sidewalk he can stay on.
Still have some GI track issues but much less. I am at a zyrtek every three days now before the itching comes back, and the welts if i scratch are much less intense. Getting there.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele Freestyle just isn't for me.I have already gone back to smart points on ITB.FS doesn't give enough direction IMO although people who have more to lose seem to do very well on it.I'm glad your garden is coming back.I'm glad Spectrum is crediting you for the week after the tornado. So far our TV/internet companies have been good about doing that.
Karen Scooter senses when we are going to have different weather and of course dogs hear thunder from far away. She wants to be comforted when she hears thunder. This morning she was acting strange when we were about to leave for HEB and WM.I had already taken a shorter walk and the temp was comfortable and the sun was out.She wanted to go with us when we were going out the gate and she hasn't done that in a long time.I was able to slip out the gates without her getting out.By time we got to WM the bottom fell out of the sky and by time we came home it was raining in sheets with 30 MPH winds.I don't know how much rain we ended up getting b/c I'm sure the wind kept a lot of it out of the rain gauge but it was pouring. They were predicting a high of 91 today and it is only 68 at 4:45.It has been nice to just have the ceiling fan on and no AC.We were both soaked by time we got in the house and I even had an umbrella I found left in the car. With pralines being so sweet I can't imagine eating them anymore.
Linda I'm glad your itching is easing up and you feel a little better.
Waves to Kathy and Liz.

Karen, thanks for the start. I don't see pralines in the stores around here which is probably a good thing. I can't imagine them without pecans either. I've certainly given WW enough money over the years, but I just feel like it's too expensive for what you get. I'm fine using MFP or ITB, but will probably use WW from time to time if they give me a good deal. We now have dry Saharan air over us. I believe it. It feels like a desert out there and some places had a heat index of 109 today. The upside is they said hurricanes can't form in this dry air. The CNN special was excellent. It was all archival footage of the Apollo 11 mission, so didn't have the interviews I had seen earlier. Maybe they're showing those at another time. It was definitely a trip down memory lane to see inside some of the space center buildings and the areas where people watched the launches. There is supposed to be a SpaceX launch tonight at 11:30. It's the Falcon Heavy, so should be a spectacular launch if the skies are clear.
Linda, LOL on the phone call options.
Chele, it was surprising to see somebody I knew on CNN. I was only 10 when Apollo 11 launched, so didn't know JoAnn had made history by being the first woman in the control room. I don't think she got any attention for it at the time. The elementary school I went to was across the street from the Indian river and they used to take us outside to watch the launches. We had a great view. I hate making those phone calls too. That's great on getting a nice customer service rep and getting credit for the week you didn't have service. There was a bear sighting near where I used to work on the local news tonight. Poor guy was up in a tree and looking a bit confused at all the attention.
Liz, hope the leg improves some this week. Anything special planned for your birthday? Like Karen, I used to take the day off or sometimes the day closest to the weekend to give me a long weekend.
Becky, sounds like quite a storm. It was 97 when I was out earlier and they said it will only be down to 85 at 10pm tonight.

Linda, pretty good on the automated options. I hate those and usually just try to press "0" in hopes that it will get me to a live person. Sometimes it works and sometimes it hangs up on me. Please post the new picture so we can see it. When are you going to gift it? I do the 5 second thing for Arya as well. And, sometimes she's not happy when I tell her it's too hot for a walk. Glad the GI is getting better and you can at least keep the itching at bay for a few days without having to medicate every day.
Was Scooter OK when you got back home in the deluge, Becky? Where was she? Did she manage to keep dry?
Kathy, the only pralines I have seen here are in ice cream, which I think is Haagen-Dazs. I'm surprised the CNN special didn't have the interviews. I wonder how many of the control room folks are still alive, given that the launch was 50 years ago and that's something you tended not to do right out of college. Enjoy watching Falcon Heavy if you stay up to watch the launch. How cool that your school was so close that you could see the launches. That poor bear must have been terrified. Did they tranquilize him and relocate him?
Our storms rolled through about 6:15. I haven't gone out to check the rain gauge but we got slammed, so I'm guessing about an inch. Wind gusts to 31 mph. It knocked out the power about 4 times before it stayed off for good. Generator was on for about an hour and a half and just kicked off a couple of minutes ago. Arya was spooked by it again, just like in bed the other night. She stayed plastered to Dale the entire time because I was closer to the window, so she felt safer farther away.

Karen Normally when Scooter is outside and there is bad weather she stays under the porch.By time I saw her there was a loud clap of thunder and I told her she looked like a big drowned rat.Her tummy doesn't get wet but her head and back was wet.I think we were more soaked than she was.My socks were even soaked. She was fine. She didn't seem scared unless both of us weren't in the LR then she would whine. We got 2" and that's with all the wind we got so I doubt that was the true reading. They said on the news Elgin only got 1.6" and that's hard to believe b/c it was really coming down hard at times. We lost power but it wasn't but about 2 minutes. We are in an electric coop and they now text us when power is back on and we can text when our power is off.
