The Mind ☯ Body ☯ Spirit connection emphasis is creating balance, wholeness, and coherence in our lives. It acknowledges that how we think, what we feel, and what we believe create the life we live and the world around us.
Let's get started! We'll post:

Good morning to all and TGIF! Lisa must have been running out the door, LOL. The podcast I referenced yesterday is part of the Embodied Goddess Series on www.bellyfit.com. The set goes on sale often, I'll post if it does. For now, the woman who gave the lecture on pelvic floor health is Kim Vopne, "The Fitness Doula" and she has several videos on Youtube. Her website is www.pelviennewellness.com/Suzanne you sounded frazzled yesterday - is the therapy getting difficult? I hope Anetta is okay, and Michelle and Carol also. Affirmation - worrying and fretting are fruitless endeavors; I know how to plan a battle strategy instead. Fitness Report - second to last therapy session at M.O.G. and it was tough. Health Goal - get in a good vein pumping working and gratefully assimilate relief from my infusion this afternoon. Gratitude - my Mom who always demonstrated strength and resourcefulness.

Happy FRIDAY! And Good Morning, Faithful Friends! Sorry to go MIA yesterday; I was really tired. Part of it was that my eyes were burning, which just made me feel tired. My Wednesday evening Barbell Club and yesterday's morning Zumba added to wearing me out. I decided today would be a low-key day. I'll work on flexibility and my PT.
Pat: PT is going well. Its not difficult at all. When I see my PT, it mostly involves her 'handwork' to relieve muscle tightness and break up fascia tissue adhesions (I'm not sure I said that exactly right.) So, I just lay there - - my kind of PT! The at-home exercises are also not difficult. Some stretches (i.e. pigeons pose) and letting my sitz bones rest on a tennis ball (sort of). The pelvic cramping is getting much better (in fact, non-existent unless I get stressed) and I am off the meds I was on for the IBS (antispasmodic). My PT has me scheduled for 3 more visits and is hopeful all will be resolved by then. Yeah! Thank you for the podcast and website links. I'll check them out. Good news that your M.O.B therapy is coming to a close.
I'll post my As the Pelvis Turns as a separate post: my condition, links, and as much as I've gleaned to date.
Lisa: I hope you'll share some of your sustainability info. I love that you are properly-training contractors to prune. As long as they follow your instructions, they'll be fine. I took some cuttings from my coleus plants yesterday and got 4 more started. I am hopeful they'll grow quickly, so I can get more cuttings. Next? Seeds.
I heard back from Anetta thru the Insight Meditation App. I had reached out to her earlier this week. She is busy with sewing lab, Tai Chi classes, and her meditation practice. She said she is with us in spirit until she returns and that she misses us. Isn't it amazing and very powerful when we realize how much we miss and care about someone we've never met. And that is true for every one of us.
I hope Carol hasn't come down with a mid-season bug!
Pat: Your Affirmation jumped out at me. And I'll be borrowing it.
Affirmation - worrying and fretting are fruitless endeavors; I know how to plan a battle strategy instead.
Fitness Goal - foam rolling, stretching
Health Goal - continue to balance all things in my life: body (food, exercise, stretching), mind (plan a battle-strategy for those things I am worried and stressed about) and spirit (resume daily meditation)
Gratitude - each of you, who touch my life daily and have become dear friends
More to follow. Suzanne

As the Pelvis Turns (my adventure in unexplained pelvic pain)
As you may recall, I'd suffered from intermittent “ab cramps” since early September 2016. Eventually, the cramping bothered me most of the time (thus the anxiety of Fall and Winter I was experiencing, which only made things worse). Originally, I thought the cramps were due to exercise because they came on very suddenly - about 2 hours after a good workout. But, they never went away (as would normally be the case with an overworked ab-muscle).
After some testing, a lot of things were ruled out (thank goodness.) GP diagnosed IBS (altho the cramping was my only symptom). It was my GYN that referred me to the PT (PT’s specialty being pelvic pain). After the first exam, my PT was confident she could help. I’ve had 4 visits, one each week since early February, and am feeling much better.
So, what’s the problem? Well, there is this intricate weave of nerves, muscles, bones, and organs in the pelvis - some things I’d never even heard of. Specific to my own condition: my PT describes it as “high tone pelvic floor muscle tightness”. (Pudendal Neuralgia - nerve; Obturator Internus -muscle)
My PT recommended this website. She likes the blog; there is a lot of great info. www.pelvicpainrehab.com
After 5 months of stress and worry (nope, it didn't help), I am so relieved to have found the problem. I am healthy being, and I do NOT have IBS, which means I can go back to all those healthy things I was eating before!
So, spread the word: If you know any one with pelvic-area pain of any kind, incontinence, symptoms related to the pelvis (and there are a lot of them), let them know. All of this information is so new, relative to other medicine, that there are a lot of doctors that won’t send patients - females and males, too - to PT for these conditions unless they are aware that PT can help.
Best, Suzanne

Hi Michelle!
Wow Suzanne I'm happy for you that you happened upon a pelvic PT expert. So many have suffered in the past, and continue to suffer, now knowing they can be helped. I hope the word spreads and will happily pass that along if I learn of someone.

Suzanne, thank you for that info! I will pass it on to MIL. She has had pain in the pelvis and low back ever since her hip surgery, and it worsened after PT therapy. She went to several different physical therapists and it's never gone away completely. Hope this can help her.
My seminar was interesting today. I learned some good lawn care tips, and some good ideas for planting shady parkways. Ive got a good list of natives for shade, too. The last speaker was all about global warming and how we contribute to it. My notes from her presentation could keep me busy for a full week just googling all the stuff she talked about and visiting the websites she referred to. A little info overload, but it was good!
I am proud that I walked past the bagels and scones during coffee, and brought my own lunch instead of the box lunch they always serve. It's always a yummy sandwich on some heavenly bread, with some high end chips and a giant cookie. I usually feel sick after eating it. So, I enjoyed my salad with chicken, an orange and a yogurt. Victory!
