do they play that Cape Cod Potato Chip ad over and over and over again back to back.
Do they really not get how annoying that is? To the point where I would never even consider buying their potato chips even though I am a lover of fine chips?
Or is it more annoying to me because that is my actual name.
And how has this never been brought up before even on that long thread of things that are annoying that I couldn't find so I started this one?!? š¤£

DebDoesWW, I presume the ad has to be running on a local channel. I see that all the time here. They guarantee a certain number of airings of a commercial and when they havenāt made the number, they just keep running them over and over and over in order to meet their contract.
There are a number of very annoying ads that run on our ABC affiliate every morning during the news. And youāre right, itās so annoying that I would never do business with those companies. |

LOL We don't have that ad but here it happens to other commercials. I assumed they thought everyone has short attention spans these days but Mike's answer sounds more logical.  On a similar note, I also find it super annoying that certain shows highlight what just happened before the commercial break. I started to DVR everything I watch so I could fast forward. |

I watch old shows on one of the lesser known stations. They always have the commercial with Alex Trebek for life insurance at least 3x per show.

We have the Cape Cod Chip commercial. But we also have a sonic commercial that always plays twice back to back, the first one is barely done before the second one starts. So annoying!
There used to be a thread here about "little things that annoyed me today"- but I have no clue where it is.

OK, not sure if I'm just more aware now, or if just started.

DebDoesWW, Cape Cod chips may play back to back in the Houston area because the HEB kettle chips are delicious, cheaper and they are impacting their sales! LOL! The commercials I hate are the BLUE BEARS talking about toilet paper. Please stop talking about your clean bottoms! Gross!

Iāve done that for years. Iāve owned TiVO DVRs since they first came on market. A couple of years ago they added a āskipā feature, apparently having figured out a way around the issue of having computers automatically remove commercials. Apparently they have staff dedicated to going through mainstream, popular programs and creating a map of where commercials start and stop. If a program is āskip-0enabled,ā pushing a designated button on the remote skips over the commercials and gets you right back to the program. It works well. They originally introduced this during Superbowl in a previous year, and it can be used in reverse to skip the game and watch the commercials! |

I DVR everything too. Commercials are so annoying. However, I will stop when I see the Overstock.com commercial with the "table runner." I get a chuckle every time I see it. Not sure why. But I find it funny. It is the little things.

My niece and I will run around singing "It's clean, I'm charmin clean". The ones I really can't stand are for personal products: The razor, where three women are shaving small bushes strategically placed in front of their body. I had to watch it three times before I got it. Then I thought it was very gross. Then there's the male product. The men are holding various vegetables (carrots, zucchini, etc) that are either limp, leaning to one side, or have bumps or other issues. Again they are holding it strategically in front of their bodies. They may not actually mention inappropriate things, but it's there. |
