People over 60 have a different metabolism than those who are younger, and weight loss gets harder as one ages. This thread is for us.
Join us! Share your ideas, your successes, your frustrations. Offer support. Get advice from folks who are on a similar journey.
Our challenge is to stay on plan, exercise and keep trying to lose weight while improving our overall health -- and maintaining a positive attitude!
Think about where you were and how you felt when you made the initial decision to join The Senior WW Challenge. Close your eyes and remember when you said to yourself “Enough is enough and I’m getting in shape!” On a scale of 1 to 10, how serious are you? You really need to be an eight or higher! If not, you should probably reevaluate your thoughts and feelings about regaining great health in your life.

Good Morning!
Mike's daughter got up early to go for a run. She just got back and got in the shower. They brought their Yorkie, so she is in their bedroom yelping. Once Kim is out of the shower she will be fine. Oh, sounds like she stopped yelping. She must know the routine. LOL Kim and Ryan will work remotely from home today here. I will be at yoga and Fit 4 Life class in the morning, so I will be out of their way.
Sharon, That is great that you can leave tomorrow. It will be good to get out of this heat.
We dropped the car off at Costco and walked over to Chick Fil-A because it was the closest restaurant and it was still pretty far in that heat. Mike had purchased insurance when he bought the tires and it turned out to be a nail in the sidewall (isn't it always), so he saved $120 and it only cost him $46. Lets hope that the garbage disposal is an easy fix, too.

The freon did get replaced in the car but he also fixed the switch as it would only run on high and that noise was crazy! But it cost about $270 because of the labor charge but I have a/c and a quieter switch so very worth it to me!
Had a scare last night. Fred was outside and Bridgette and Bailey were in the backyard. Fred left the gate open since he felt it was fine with him being there. BUT he was working on the car door trying to get the panel back in place and Bailey came out of the yard and he put her in the house. Well when the car is that close Bailey comes around the left side which is how Fred saw her but Bridgette comes around the right side so he didn't see her and I guess she decided to take the opportunity to go exploring! I came out and looked in the yard and asked him if he had put her in the house? Nope. I checked the whole yard and no Bridgette! I checked the house and no Bridgette! We went into full panic mode. I checked the neighbor's yard and no sign of her. Fred got in the car and drove around at least five times. I walked our normal route at least twice asking everyone I met if they had seen a beagle. Fred called the pound and they were going to keep an eye out for her. I was crying and felt like throwing up and just couldn't stop walking everywhere looking for her. She's slow in walking so I thought she had been snatched as I just knew she couldn't have gotten far on her own. I got back and looked at Bailey saying where is your sister? She wanted to go out and I got irritated and said I don't need you going out, I need you telling me where Bridgette is! So off again I went. Then Fred pulled up in the car and said get in I've found her! Turns out she had gotten in a blind spot by our neighbor's garage and Fred had taken Bailey out and she insisted on going into the backyard and Fred followed her and she went right to the fence and there sat Bridgette on the other side of the fence trying to figure out how to get back in the yard! So if I had done what Bailey wanted in the first place a lot of worry could have been avoided. But I told Fred from now on no leaving the gate open unless one of us is in the yard! Needless to say it led to a very sleepless night for me as I couldn't relax to get into a good sleep.
This morning going to feed the kitties and play with them a bit and then have a haircut. Nothing else going on and after last night grateful for that!

Sandy, How scary for you! Glad you found Bridgette. Sometimes dogs know more than people. Maybe you should have listened to Bailey. LOL

Sandy I know that awful feeling when your pet is lost so I am very happy that all is well.
My computer is giving me fits and I don't know if the storm was the problem but there is definitely a computer problem.

Debbie was told by her lawyer that Jeff's lawyer had hoped he would show yesterday as he hung up on her and she wanted to talk to him about it but he didn't show. He also said he's applied to 90 companies but won't produce a job log. Then he said he's a very sick man and should not be expected to work but won't produce anything from a doctor verifying this. I just hope this lawyer doesn't quit but if she wants to she would need permission from the judge and with July 22nd being a pre-trial and not a hearing it probably would not be good for Jeff! So just a little over three weeks and we'll know how it will be going down.

Computer doesn’t work. Took some of the coins. Only paid one fourth the book value on most so expected more but took it. Still have more. Not enough to buy a new computer.

I miss you all. Just so tired. I signed all the papers with the attorney yesterday in MA, stayed over at a neighbor's, then drove back this afternoon. I finally found a supermarket and picked up food for breakfast tomorrow. That will be the first meal I will cook in my new place. Tonight will be my second night staying here.
AOTD: I love longer days so I can be out longer, swimming outside, and just spending more time outdoors.
Good night everyone.
Gail
