QOTD:
What are currently your favorite seasonal fruits and veggies?
Are there fruit and/or veggies you eat all year round?
Do you have any favorite recipes that use fruit or veggies?
AOTD:
What are currently your favorite seasonal fruits and veggies?
We’re enjoying cherries, blueberries, fresh pineapple, and apricots.
Are there fruit and/or veggies you eat all year round?
Bananas and grapes always on hand. Broccoli and corn are our go to veggies.
Do you have any favorite recipes that use fruit or veggies?
We enjoy fresh melon and pineapple chunks. This isn’t really a recipe. I most often buy it already cut up. I did purchase the pineapple corer at WW. It makes it easy to peel and core a fresh pineapple.

Right now, we are drowning in squash & cucumbers, I give them to everybody that I come in contact with!! Tomatoes are beginning to ripen, they are always my favorite! We also bought a box of peaches fresh off the truck from Georgia, delicious!!
I always keep bananas in the house, often resort to canned fruits in the winter.
An old favorite of mine for a quick dinner, sauteed veggies, onion, zucchini, peppers, whatever fresh veggies you have on hand. Serve over pasta. Add a tad of grated cheese, delish!

What are currently your favorite seasonal fruits and veggies? ** I'm not quite sure just what is seasonal right now, although there are cherries that are new. I did pick up some Georgia peaches, which are OK, but not like the peaches from Colorado that I get in August. I love apricots, but I can never find any in the stores that are flavorful. I also get asparagus when the price is reasonable.
Are there fruit and/or veggies you eat all year round? ** Bananas, oranges, apples and most anything else that is reasonably priced. I'll get fresh vegetables but I also use frozen.
Do you have any favorite recipes that use fruit or veggies? ** I've been making stir fries with a variety of vegetables. I use fresh or frozen berries with oatmeal, and I like pasta with vegetables, with a little olive oil, pasta water, and Parmesan cheese as the sauce.

QOTD:
What are currently your favorite seasonal fruits and veggies? going today to buy the first cherries of the season. Blueberries (u-pick)just started last weekend. I may have to go get some of those this weekend. If all the squash and tomato flowers turn into produce, I will also be looking for places to get rid of squash.
Are there fruit and/or veggies you eat all year round? apples, bananas are probably the 2 main ones. I really enjoy asparagus when it is in season.
Do you have any favorite recipes that use fruit or veggies? I am a big fan of pasta, lightly sauced with either olive oil or pesto and sauted veggies. I also like a homemade pizza (either with dough or tortilla) with olive oil or pesto, arugula, mushrooms, onions and peppers.

Favorite seasonal fruits and veggies: Berries. Almost any kind (I break out from fresh raspberries; it only started happening about 10 or maybe 15-ish years ago and I have no idea why).
All year: bananas, apples
Recipes (etc.): nothing jumps out at me. cathygeha , regarding your pasta with eggplant tomato sauce: do you make tomato sauce with eggplant IN it? If so, I NEED that recipe!!!!!

I think some new crop cherries are starting to show up in the stores. I get some if they look good. (grocery shopping planned for tomorrow morning).
Actually not sure what else in the stores is new crop right now. I also need to get myself to the farmer's market one of these weekends, but I'm thinking there are not many local vegetables yet. Maybe asparagus, radish, some greens...maybe peas? The spring weather was not typical, so not sure what impact that has had.
All year - bananas, apples. Usually turn to frozen vegetables for things not in season.
When the tomatoes and basil in the garden are ready, I like to just cook pasta, chop up tomatoes and basil and mix them with the pasta, with some olive oil and Parmesan cheese.

cathygeha , regarding your pasta with eggplant tomato sauce: do you make tomato sauce with eggplant IN it? If so, I NEED that recipe!!!!! No real recipe but... 1 onion, chopped 1-4 garlic minced 1 liter tomato sauce 2 beef bouillon cubes (or vegetablle) basil, oregano and a bit of hot pepper (optional) Salt & pepper as desired large peeled cubed eggplant (or two medium) saute onion and garlic then add in the eggplant. Add seasonings and bouillon cubes. Add tomato sauce. Cook together till eggplant is tender. If saving on oil just saute the onion and garlic in a bit of oil with water and plunk the eggplant in without sauteing and cook. Last night I had some leftover "fried eggplant" slices so chopped them up along with leftover onion and green pepper slices from eggplant sandwiches at lunch so did not start from scratch. You can add ground beef if you want or not. Sorry...don't really use recipes much any more...
