KLiz, I hope you enjoyed your birthday. How did Liz and Gary do at the vet? No further issues? Did you get your DL renewed with a minimum of wait time? Ohio has a program where you can check in to the BMV before you get there to minimize how much time you have to sit there. I hope all goes well with the new boot today and your leg continues its healing process.
Karen, I meant to ask you about Dale and his turtle whispering abilities. Do they follow him home? You must have been hot to turn in the car AC. I know what you mean about having one of those days when it comes to exercise. Some days 20 minutes on the bike seems like an eternity and other days 30 minutes whiz by. Some days the body does not cooperate. I am glad your plugged tire stayed plugged. Good luck on the roads next week with all the tourists. We got that around the air show and ham-vention (ham radio convention) weekends.
Kathy, are you a swimmer? Do you ever get to the beach? How far is it from Orlando? My GF and her family are going to Disney in a couple of weeks. She is not looking forward to waiting in line.
Becky, the allergy outlook has been pretty good around here the past week. We are having a heat wave. We are supposed to get over 90 the next few days. I know I would never last a summer in Texas.
Linda, nice flowers and balloon for Liz’s birthday. Did you yoga yesterday?
Not much on my agenda today. Lunch out did a number on my digestive system which seems to get more sensitive by the day. I am going to eat my meals at home for awhile.

No yoga yesterday, too tired after insomnia!
had to take down a little fence thing to keep dog out of side yard, yard guys trimmed palm base there, and then put it back up...ten minutes in the heat wiped me out. been so coolish so long I am not conditioned even for mornings. 110 later.
They are new yard guys next door neighbor has. This week we fired the company we have had for years that used to be good. the new team has been getting worse and worse. they cut back on trimming to once a month for same price, just blowing leaves, I guess instead of raising costs. ok, but then they did not trim what they should did a bad job and broke stuff. They showed up three days late Tuesday and did not trim again, prepaid for the month. grr.
So I am up very early , doing laundry, changing beds, and making a strawberry pie!....Someone on another thread posted about making one that sounded so good.
Need to go to the store for two things i forgot, make the bed and then I plan to read a book. Three nights without enough sleep is catching up with me.

Chele, thanks for the start. I'm in the group of us that doesn't do swimsuits anymore. We did do a lot of swimming at the beach, springs, and pools when I was growing up and if I lived closer I might go once in a while. I like to take walks on the beach when we visit NSB. The closest beach from here is Playalinda out of Titusville. It's a National Seashore, so it's a completely natural beach with no development. It's about an hour away. For someone coming from the Disney area, add another hour. They used to close Playalinda during shuttle launches, but I'm not sure if they do for the SpaceX ones. New Smyrna has some really nice beach areas and Daytona is the more touristy one. The surfers like the Cocoa Beach area too.
One of my pet peeves about Disney is that there isn't much shelter from the sun or the rain if it storms. I'm sure the July 4th week will be crazy busy, so that's good that your GF is going after that. I avoid the theme parks in the summer since they are more crowded and it will either be boiling hot or rainy. Those are really hot temperatures for you. We're getting a little bit of a cooldown with highs in the 80s or low 90s, but it's due to rain. Sorry about lunch not agreeing with you. I wonder what was in it that caused problems. Hope you're feeling better by now.
Karen, Dale would enjoy seeing all the turtles in this area. There's even a gopher tortoise crossing sign just up the road from my neighborhood. It's in an appropriate place since I have seen some crossing the roads near there. There have been a lot of turtles in pond this year for some reason. Liz, hope you had a good birthday. Did you get your paella dinner or will that be this weekend? Becky, I know, it's rare for us to have the AC off except for maybe one or two days in February. Linda, that's frustrating on the lawn service. Hope the new ones are better.

Thanks for the start, Chele. How's the tummy? Do you know what caused your issue? Sometimes I really hate to eat out because that happens to me as well. Turtles do follow Dale home but not of their own volition. I have tried to convince him that relocating them confuses them but he says he would rather they be confused than dead on the road. Your GF and family definitely won't be alone in the summertime. I don't have plans to be out on the highways until Tuesday, but Dale has a triathlon tomorrow and an orchard trip on Sunday, so he will be dealing with the traffic.
Kathy, I tried the Teavana pineapple blue berry and it has a good flavor but is a little sweet for me. I mixed it 50-50 with my homemade herb tea and it's just right. So, it sounds like I may be the only one in the group currently supporting the swimwear industry. The only way I am seen in a swimsuit is if someone on a boat sees me getting in or out of the water. You're right about Disney's lack of shelter. I guess they don't want to pay for something that only gets used so infrequently. That's the nice thing about Dollywood--lots of indoor theaters.
How's the leg, Liz? Do you have a pretty new drivers license in your possession? Did you get to celebrate your birthday yesterday or will it have to wait til the weekend? I saw something on the Noon news about a Petco in NY (didn't say exactly where) that is teaming up with a company called Just Food For Dogs in offering fresh human grade food for purchase. I think it's frozen. Guess I should have started that as my retirement gig.
Sorry about the unintended manual labor, Linda. Did the company you used for years bother to call to see why you were canceling? Sorry you lost money on the pre-pay. Hope they will give you some kind of refund.I hope the new team does a good job. You have had a busy day so far and it sounds like it's continuing to be busy. Hope the pie turns out good. Wouldn't be surprised if you fall asleep with that book. Any idea what's causing the insomnia?
Becky, what's up in Central Texas today? My car has a moon roof and I can usually get a good breeze going with that and the windows open. So it has to get pretty warm and/or humid for me to feel the need for AC.
We got storms yesterday evening that didn't even show up on the radar and with the heat and humidity, we have more cooking up right now. I'll have to text GF to make sure she's ok because it hit Gatlinburg pretty hard. Good thing I did my swim early. I was kind of tired so I only did 600 yards. Nothing special planned today, so I have been working on what I want to enter in the county fair. I wasn't going to enter any plants but will most likely change my mind. I will probably divide the holy basil I got last week and enter part of it. Probably some aloe, which we have tons of and it just needs to be transplanted into a better pot with some fresh succulent soil. We also have a new category this year for the display of windowsill herb gardens. I have the herbs for sure and I think I will plant them in Mason jars that I rig up with a self-watering system so they don't get over or under watered and die like they have for the past couple of years. I told Dale he will be building me a box that will perfectly fit the jars I choose. Probably basil, thyme or oregano, and mint, since that seems to be what I have the most of. I also would love to be able to propagate some French tarragon, too. Think it's going to be a busy weekend.

Thanks for the start Chele.Summers can be brutal in TX like in 2011.We had 90 days of 100 plus degree days.Thankfully we haven't even had a 100 degree day yet.It is 92 right now and humid with high mold counts.I hope your digestive system settles down soon.
Kathy We certainly don't use the AC if and when we have winter.LOL.Right now it's a must though.
Karen It's hot and humid in Central TX.Looking out the window it looks mostly cloudy. We went to HEB this morning and bought groceries for the weekend.Kenneth is grilling hamburgers and steak tonight for the next week.
Waves to Linda and Liz.
