Hi owls. Went to graduation open house this afternoon. It was for the son of our former neighbors. Such a nice young man. He was always so helpful when we lived next to them. Helped carry groceries in for us, shoveled the sidewalk and deck, anything we asked. Nice to see him and his family. His mom is a bit strange. Told me once she was in the witness protection plan because she had been abused as a child. Not sure you're suppose to tell people if you actually are in that program.
Warm and humid here but I did fill the bird feeders and water everything when we got home. Have to make some more hummingbird liquid before I can fill that one.
Lin, don't know how you deal with that heat except to stay in the a.c. all day. We have ours on set at 73, very comfortable.
Birds are happy. Feeders are busy. bettyj

over the years Don has cussed a few things out like instructions or what they tool they may have sent .he would just do it his way.our screen tent was one of them. I tell him tell them about it or become a engineer. lol he thinks most of the time the design is enigreered wrong.dumb instrutions. phyl

Dave would never read the instructions. He'd just start grabbing pieces and try to get it together. Most times it didn't work out and he'd get upset and I would have to start from the beginning.

Hello everyone,
Betty- thatβs nice you made it to the graduation party. How was the weather.
Phyl- we have a lot of road construction near us also. Hard to get around sometimes.
The guy from Lowes put on heavy duty gripping gloves and used the tool that came with bench. He was able to get a good grip on it to turn it hard. I tried using a towel to get a better grip but did not help. I agree the tools with assembly are strange. It seemed a weird size. Not standard screw drivers. Was a skinny L shape and used the long part to hold on to.
Absolutely love the bench. Perfect size for the front porch. Looking forward to shopping tomorrow for pillows or a small throw. Maybe a throw on one side and pillow on the other. Endless possibilities. Maybe a throw on one corner draping on seat on that side and a small tray sitting on it with something cute on tray. That would be fun. These are the deco projects I love.

Mar, it is called an allen wrench. You can get them in a ring in different sizes. our good Danish tables have them to tighten legs as they age and loosen,

Lin- its not a normal Allen Wrench. The bent short end is a tiny Phillips screwdriver. The other end is a hex. The screwdriver end is used for the bench screws. We have a lot of screwdrivers and non fit in properly to turn the screw.
If we had the gloves it would have worked fine. Learned something new today in fixit land. Lol

Betty, i would freeze at 73. Ours is 76 or 77 depending on humidity....which is only 13% now. But we are in hibernation stage over 110 keeping curtains mostly closed against sun. mostly 110-111 this week. But I gave seen last two weeks of June much worse. 1990 it hit 122 officially and 123in my shaded yard in Mesa back then. Cars stalled out in vapor lock. planes were grounded.
Phyl that sounds like a great quilt.
LOL about men and instructions. Guess who reads them all here! Don sounds like dad who was a carpenter foreman and cabinet maker. He would point out mistakes and could anything together.
I used to give instruction manuals to my writing classes and say that the future engineers in clas shoukd listen because people hate what they think is easy. Then i would make them write better ones grandma could follow..like programming the vcr to tape. or connecting it and cable to a tv.
