Marm, I waited up for you last night. Wonder where your post went, and now you are trying to jump ahead to Monday. Ha! It’s Sunday and I need to get ready for church and the day ahead. It is getting darker outside but the tv just told me not to expect storms until 5 or 6 tonight. Could they be wrong? Never! Ha! See you later.

Good Morning Marm and LTMs,
This morning it is 76* and going up to 97* and sunny, hot and humid with winds SSW 10-15 mph. It looks like the next few days will be about the same temperature.
Last night about an hour after we all settled in for the night MJ heard someone rattling the back door like trying to open it. She alerted us all and called the police. They came out and checked all around the house and yard, but of course by then all was quiet. It took us all quite a while to settle down enough to be able to sleep and this morning I'm the only one awake and that's because the dogs woke me to go out.
The dogs have been out and came back in and had their breakfast and Hunter settled back down and went to sleep on my bed. Bailey is sound asleep again on the floor in the living room.
I've had my early morning medicine and in about half an hour I will be ready for some breakfast and whatever the day will bring today.
As far as I know there are no special plans for today, so I'll just wait and see what may come up later.

Just back from walking. It was HOT and HUMID already. Heat advisory from 11-9:00 today with temps in the 90's with a heat index in the 100's. We had a little rain last night that didn't amount to much. There's rain chances EVERY day in the 7 day forecast. We cut our walk short yesterday but we still got a couple of miles in anyway. It was already so hot and humid. The heat was just oppressive. Felt so good to be back in AC like this morning too.

It's much cooler here today and very overcast and looks like rain. We have nothing planned to it's fine with us about the weather. I need to finish up a couple crochet projects and do a couple things that need done such as laundry while it's cool. I hate to run the dryer when it's hot but I do like drying clothes in the dryer because they get softer and fluffier.
Have a great day everyone

Hello, all LTMs,
I really am trying to post each day. It's hard when you can see out of only one eye, but the other one manages to be foggy & give you a bit of double vision.
DH took me to Winn-Dixie. It was good to get out somewhere besides the doctor's office, even if it was the grocery store. I did get peaches again at 99cents a #, and will make another peach pie w/ the cook & serve pudding. I plan to add some mango this time. And maybe some blue berries. I also got some baby back ribs, buy one, get one. It was a good bargain! I'll plan to cut those up into dinner size portions & freeze them. I usually put them in the crock pot w/ aluminum foil balled up in the bottom & the ribs on top. I use a dry rub on them. 8 hours of Low cooking makes them really tender! There's also a recipe for 2 point cupcakes, made w/ Sugar Free chocolate cake mix, 1 c. of FF plain Greek yogurt & 1 c. of water. Makes 24 cupcakes. I'll do those later this week.
OK, the eyes are about done. Have a great day! Doris, can you get some LARGE "Beware of Dog" signs? My son used those when he lived in the middle of nowhere. Police told him it was better than an alarm system. Of course, he had a Doberman, but she rarely barked. Waited till you tried to get in, then showed you her long, shiny teeth!

Rose Marie, I was so glad to hear your eye is coming along well and pray that it continues and is fully healed soon. Great Idea on the Beware of Dog signs. I used to have a Rottweiler. no one came near. The only thing she actually would have done is kissed someone to death although I bet if someone was actually harming us she would have protected us but can't be sure because that never happened.

Well a Sunday for sure. Enjoyed church friends hers, here till the 5th. she's the one that travels everywhere. soon to leave for another tour trip w/her DB. But she also travels alone often, and lnows a lot w/country when she goes. But we took a nap and ate late. so I'm sure we won't want anything for supper. still going thru the books. Looking over recipes and what I keep put in the right book. this is all mixed. Yes Mary, I didn't know I had put up Mon. But I do understand how. While I was trying to start the post DH ask when DS was coming over? "MONDAY" He did hear it the 3rd time. But not posting last night. And I always look to see if posted. I know its happened to others to.
Doris, A great tip from RM. That's scary to think someone trying to get in the house again.
Gareth*, We know how well AC feels. Feel so lucky we have it. I never forget the time we didn't. and got one yrs. after everyone else did.
Ruth, The wind came up here again short time back feel like it cooled some. but our day time heat~~~~ something else.
Rose Marie, Good tip. We have a little post on window of front door window that we have an alarm system. Now luck our new neighbor has camera going. even our Driveway. Must get tired of seeing us come and go. Ha.ha. Do take care. What would we do w/out puddings and jello for cooking and ect anymore. How nice it would have been for Mom if WWer's did that yrs. ago and I give her the tip. she always struggled w/weight.
Thinking Marlene mentioned was going to be family. If so safe trip... BBL~~ Marm~~

I was posting earlier this afternoon when company came & my post got lost.
I've had a typical ho-hum day. Started the day off on the wrong foot. Numbers on the scale were up when I weighed this morning. Too much shortcake & lack of exercise I guess. Won't be walking until it cools down - I can't handle this heat. So today was back to thinking more about what I eat.
Made a trip into town for a few groceries & stopped for lunch. The walls were closing in again especially with everything closed up tight & the AC running. I'm thankful for AC but would like cooler temps so the door & windows could be open. This small WM doesn't carry what I want. We may have to drive farther to have more choices. If we do that, I can shop at Aldi's too. We are invited to the lake house next Sat for lunch. DGS & SO will be there. Not sure if her family is coming too or not, but it will be a fun day. On the 4th we are meeting friends for lunch. Afterwards I want to do some shopping/looking at Kohl's Aldi's, MNs & maybe WM. That sounds like more running then I can usually do.
We had a couple showers move through today. It is considerably cooler tonight then it has been. Maybe we can turn the AC off tonight.
Sleep tight. I slept rather good last night. Hope I do again tonight.

We had showers this afternoon too. I’m glad it waited until after church and lunch. About Walmart...the latest Consumers Report magazine rated grocery stores. WM is way low on the list. The top score was 91. Aldi’s got 84. WM got 70. They (WM) were 3rd from the bottom. There were 96 stores rated, many I’ve never heard of. Of those I shop at, Aldi’s was the highest, even higher than HyVee who scored 81. Aldi’s scored low on “Freshness of store-prepared foods,” and “Selection of locally produced products.” Interesting!

Mary, I have been satisfied with the WM stores that I normally shop at but this is a small town & the WM store is small too - not big enough to carry a wide range of choices, including some of the things I buy. Aldi's & Pick/Krogers is a 40 mile drive one way so not someplace we go very often. I use to do one stop shopping but no more.
DS who lives in our house, sent a message that he is coming tomorrow & will stay overnight. A busy week is shaping up for us.

Marlene*, Cooled here to w/few showers, Happy for any of it. Oh, Sat. is the day you go to the Lake house. And do a lot of shopping. Try to anyhow. hope that happens.
Mary, I agree on WM for me has went downhill since on line shopping. and we sometimes get things elsewhere because they are out, or no longer handle some.
Good Night~~ Marm~~
