It is warm and humid. I did some paperwork, took a trip to the post office and the ATM. No money in the ATM and the CU was still closed. So I went home and made salmon salad from the leftover salmon and then mowed the backyard and cleaned and refilled the birdbath. I came in and took a shower and am doing a load of laundry. I didn’t mow the front because the upper hip started pinging me. Maybe tomorrow.
I hope you all have a good Monday.
What is an artist’s favorite swimming stroke?

Thanks for the start, Chele. Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit! Warm and humid here as well. I guess people in Dayton had a busy weekend and drained the ATM. Don't know that I have heard of that happening. Hope it was refilled if you went out later. Good idea to get the yard work done early before the heat comes in full force this afternoon. Enjoy the salmon salad. Here's your first joke: Two dogs wearing their finest collars entered a bar. After ordering, they noticed that all the other dogs in the bar were not wearing collars. That's when they realized they were in a STRAY BAR.
Linda, I'm amazed that you can even grow cucumbers there as dry as it is. Do you have some planted in the shade? LOL on 106 sounding good. I know you don't seem to be having rain now, so what's your typical humidity? Do you have any watering restrictions where you live?
It's a shame your DN was in Japan when Trump was, Kathy. I hope he was able to go back after the president left to see the things that were closed the first time. When will he come home? Did you get some rain? Has the Sarahan dust cloud moved on, making you more susceptible to inclement weather again?
Becky, is it raining at your house today? Did you get to walk outside? I hope tracking calories will work for you, after so many years of counting points. I was never totally comfortable with the points concept because there were so many variables that didn't seem to be considered, plus WW changed their methods when they changed programs, so I had to wonder if that was partially responsible for it being less effective for people when they went to a newer program.
How was the birthday celebration, Liz? Enjoy the musical. I didn't realize they had turned some of Meatloaf's discography into a musical. Great gift, Gary!
Like Chele, I worked outside for a while this morning. I added Black Kow and soil to a couple of garden beds and could use a couple more bags of soil for the larger bed, so that will have to wait. I transplanted the holy basil and split into a couple of pots and also transplanted the cilantro that may not make it. I am thinking about taking cuttings from the French tarragon and my 15+ year old oregano to see if I can get them to root. Might do that this afternoon. After I finished gardening, I swam almost 600 yds. The water felt a little coolish (which was great) after all my physical activity, but warmed up quickly. Dale swam earlier and said it felt like bath water to him. I plan to cook green beans for Dale this afternoon. He bought a couple of lbs of them at the orchard yesterday. I placed a 2nd CSA order this morning because I decided I wanted to roast some vegetables. So I will have eggplant, zucchini, peppers, onions, garlic, and purple sweet potato. Now I'm hungry, so I guess I'll have a tomato sandwich.
Let me end this with another dog joke:
A man walks into a bar with a dog. The bartender says, "You can't bring that dog in here." "You don't understand," says the man. "This is no regular dog, he can talk." "Listen, pal," says the bartender. "If that dog can talk, I'll give you a hundred bucks." "The man puts the dog on a stool, and asks him, "What's on top of a house?" "Roof!" "Right. And what's on the outside of a tree?" "Bark!" "And who's the greatest baseball player of all time?" "Ruth!" "I guess you've heard enough," says the man. "I'll take my $100 in twenties." The bartender is furious. "Listen, pal," he says, "get out of here before I belt you." As soon as they're on the street, the dog turns to the man and says, "Do you think I should have said 'DiMaggio' instead?

Love the jokes, Karen. I did not go back out but will be out tomorrow so I will try again. It happens frequently on Monday morning at our CU ATM. There are no fees if you withdraw from the CU ATM and it is the only one on this side of town. I baked a banana bread because I had two over ripe bananas. Then I took some leftover veggies and made a frittata. The veggies you ordered sound delicious. I am going to Meijer tomorrow for our 4th of July supplies. Iggy needs a watermelon and more parsley and mint than our garden has. How do you make the beans for Dale? A swim in a lake sounds really refreshing. Only I do more of a dog paddle than anything else.
Linda, happy birthday week!!!! Any plans for Friday?
Here is a dog joke in keeping with Karen’s theme: What do dogs eat for breakfast? Pooched eggs.
I know you are all howling at that one.

Good afternoon chicks and thanks for the start Chele.
Chele - I'm no good with jokes so I won't even attempt. The weekend was fine albeit very soupy on Saturday and showers off and on yesterday. I actually napped for a few hours off and on yesterday which was a strong sign that the lack of sleep during the last 2 weeks caught up with me. No paella on Saturday night; we decided to have take out. The show is not until August 3rd so I have a wait but am looking forward to the music. How is the hip today? Good that you backed off the mowing of the front. My left hip is very unhappy lately and the right knee isn't too far behind.<sigh> I have my 2nd injection tomorrow afternoon so we'll see how that goes. Nice pickins from the market for you. I got some good white nectarines and some nice Washington cherries yesterday.
Karen - how is the whiny Ms. Arya doing today? You were a busy cook today without a doubt. Sounds like you accomplished quite a bit of gardening as well. I am taking Friday off so that is something to look forward to this week. Zoe's surgery is scheduled for 12th and I have her tail cleaned and bandaged once again with a new restock of vet tape.
Linda - those temps are just brutal to me. It's 87 in the city today and that's just about intolerable.
Waving to Becky, and Kathy! Hope you both are having a good day without too much weather drama!!
Here goes in support of Chele and Karen: Ciao for now~
Q: Why was the dog stealing shingles?
A: He wanted to become a woofer!

good jokes...
our heat is the price of living in a winter resort paradise. One way or the other you hibernate part of the year and you do not have to shovel heat.
Going to brother's for family thing the 4th and my birthday (next day but usually we do the 4th). They have a new pool that finally got finished. Think we will do the special Sunday sliced filet on mashed potatoes with salad at Fleming's Sunday.
Went to art to paint a cockatoo from the conservatory in Vancouver for DH...and forgot the picture .All I had was pencil drawing on canvas, so i did parts i could and worked on a bacgound and went home.
Took back a polo shirt to Costco that reeked of aftershave or cologne! It did not wash out,,,instead made the knitted pjs in the wash with smell too. Got a new one. While in line I was behind the pizza place bartender who wears her hair as Carmen Miranda, floral head wrap and all. She has a false rolled hair piece in front and her secret is big rollers to make the wrap fluff up. She's an okd movie fan.
Then it was consignment for some clothes, earrings and handbags...and next door to Walgreens for make up. by now it is 102 outside the parked car and my make up is melting! Stopped by croissant place with buy one get one coupon and time next time I got in the car, the make up was pretty much sliding down my face. AllI could think of was the witch in Oz “ I'm melting. Cannot even think of dog walking even after supper since it is still 100 at midnight.
Hamburgers, with leftover potato salad and spinach pastry from Greek place tonight.

Liz, glad you were able to check in. Groan on the joke. I knew you could do it. Good luck with the injection tomorrow. Will you get another Unna boot?
Enjoy your birthday dinner, Linda, and holiday at your brother's. I guess the original polo shirt has now been returned twice. YIKES on the veggie recall. It looks like TJ's is the only place in TN that has any of them. Most of my veggies right now are coming from the CSA.

Chele, thanks for the punny start and the jokes. What luck to find an empty ATM, but I guess that's more likely to happen at the credit union. Best to listen to the hip and leave the mowing for later. Or for Iggy. DS and I had dinner over at DM's last night and saw some pics from DN's Japan trip. I'm sure he'll have some good stories about the trip. My dog used to chase people on a bike a lot. It got so bad, I had to take her bike away. Karen, DN got home late last night. I haven't heard whether or not he got to go back to the places that were closed. The WW points system worked best for me when it was correlated closer to calories. I think Momentum was the first program I tried and I had great success with it. Points Plus and the ones that followed never seemed to work as well, although I was able to lose weight with some of them. Liz, sorry the hip and knee are unhappy and hope the injection helps. It's no wonder you're exhausted and probably a good thing that you got some extra sleep yesterday. Hope the rest of the week isn't too crazy.
Linda, I feel like I'm melting here too and it's not nearly as hot as AZ. It's very humid though. Wonder what's up with all the recalls. Thanks for keeping us posted.
Waving to Becky.

Kathy, when will you get to see DN to hear all about his trip? I heard a variation on your joke. The neighbor said my dogs were chasing people on bikes. I told him my dogs don't even have bikes. PP worked for me for a couple months. I was never on Momentum. I did lose 70 lbs on the original WW (back in the liver and onions days). I agree that you and many others were more successful when points and calories were more closely aligned.
I'm happy to hear you're taking Friday off, Liz. I hope St. Crazy will leave you alone. I saw something on the news about a bill in NY that if it passes an employee can only be contacted in their off time if they are on call. Would that change anything with your situation or will they just ignore it?
For some reason, my back started acting up this afternoon and I have the TENS unit on. Probably had something to do with the gardening and especially hauling bags of soil and Black Kow. I hope it doesn't mess up things at Osteo tomorrow.

we do not have enough food inspectors or oversight of corporate farming or the plants that cut and package stuff or checks on pollution of water used to grow things or use of chemicals. Current admin is cutting back in regulations of all of it in the name of “less govt.” which is actually more profits through unaccountability.

Thanks for the start Chele. That is unusual for there to be no money in an ATM.I'm glad you had other errands you could take care of.It's been warm and humid here too.Hope your hip feels better soon.
Karen No rain here although Kenneth said it thundered earlier. It has been sunny warm & humid most of the day.We have a 30% chance of showers the next 2 days then a 10% on the 4th and nothing expected the rest of the week but heat.I rode the bike this morning since I knew we had to go to HEB and WM.Around 2:00 I did go for a shorter walk but it was already 89 degrees by then.We did get up to 90 but that will be the high.If you do end up getting another tracker the Vivosmart 4 is the one you would want.It measures stress(I don't know how but it does),what they call your body battery. The higher a number that's on what they call the + side is when you need to exercise more.Once it gets in the low category it's time to get your body charged up for the next day.I don't know if it's what I have it set on the app for but if I get over a certain HR it vibrates and tells me my HR is high.It also vibrates if you have been sitting for an hour with a message that it's time to move. When you have gotten enough steps in it vibrates again and gives you a message that move alert is cleared.Good job.LOL.
Liz I hope your injection goes well tomorrow and your joints feel better soon.
Kenneth had picked up some bananas at WM and we each had our own basket.Evidently he forgot to put them in my cart.I was already out in the car.So tomorrow since I need to pick up a RX at HEB we will go back there and he can get some more and I need to buy meat.We thought we had more steak left than we did but we ran out tonight.
Waves to Kathy and Linda.
