Good morning all! We're starting a new month and I have a list of repair people to call. DH's A/C went out in his shop so that needs attention. We're still waiting to hear about our old truck with the "check engine" light that is on. They should call today with the damage report. And, finally, I'm calling the oral surgeon for an appointment for DH for another tooth that needs to be removed. Sigh....
Right now, I'm looking for coffee. Have a great day!

Good morning, everyone! It looks like a lovely day where I am. I'll need to do some garden watering since it wasn't done this weekend.
I haven't tracked my meals for a couple days, but will start again today. I didn't overdo eating this past weekend, but I allowed myself more than I would have on my eating plan (a single scoop rum raisin ice cream and a fancy Italian chicken dish). Hubby, on the other hand, was quite good other than a couple whiskies. My brother joined us for a lunch out. I appreciated it. He held off going to work to be with us. I have always loved my brother, of course, but in recent years I love him even more deeply.
I have always loved kitchenwares, but a week ago I bought a cheap but cool cherry pitter that pits four at a time. It's my new toy. Cherries yay! I gave my bird boy some these past weeks. He really loved them. I'm glad.

I’m in. Good morning All. There's a gorgeous blue sky here this morning. I’m meeting up with a neighbor for a short walk in a few minutes. She doesn’t seem to mind that I move at a snail's pace, so I don’t mind that I can’t get a word in edgewise lol I’m starting to plan out meals for the long holiday weekend and leaving little wiggle room for some unplanned treats. Right now the holiday weather forecast looks bleak. We keep some board games and movies on the boat but, I’ll take a good book or two just in case it’s wall to wall rain. I was given a copy of A Man Called Ove. Has anyone here read that? Okay, I’m off. Hope everyone has a good day!

doordie50,- I've never heard of that book. What's it about? I just ordered the Hiding Place. It's about Cori Ten Boom and her family. They were Christians who hid Jews during WW 2. Waiting for the rental place to come pick up the Bobcat we used this weekend. Doing some chores around the house. Was going to go to school and continue on the closet, but I hurt so bad I don't think I'm going to. I overdid it yesterday trying to rake rocks out of the grass. My side and hip are really sore. Have a good day everyone

Good morning. I’m in.
Where did the weekend go? I’ve reached the point where I need a digital clock that displays the day of week because every day seems like every other!
I visited with a friend yesterday afternoon, then joined his family across the street for a BBQ’d steak dinner. In a few months I will reach the 20th anniversary of living in my house, and during that time I’ve seen all three of their kids born and grow up. The twin boys (fraternal) are going off to college this year, and the daughter starts high school.
Doing some research on WW programs, I discovered a cookbook that was the last one published before POINTS arrived. It is a 365-day menu cookbook. I ordered a copy via Amazon. It has all the exchanges as well as the NI. The recipes are interesting and seem more substantial than many of the later offerings.
The cookbook contained a Risotto recipe that had ground beef (5 oz. for 4 servings!), zucchini, tomato, onion, white wine, vegetable broth, parmesan, and butter that the recipe didn’t call for but it needed for flavor. It was what I had planned for last night’s dinner, so I made it and it is in the refrigerator to work on through the week.
I will be heading off this morning to meet up with my WW friends and to weigh in for July.
Have a great day!

Good afternoon.
Running out to get my eyeglass frames replaced. Of course they have been sitting in LensCrafters for who knows how long and I had to call to find out if they were in. They are matte black metal frames and the finish is chipping off. I got the protection plan so although there is a co-pay of $25 it's nowhere near what replacement would cost if I had to pay full price.
Have a good day everyone.

hpeterson1951, I haven't read it yet but, it has over 16,000 reviews and a 4 1/2 star rating on Amazon. It's about "a grumpy old man, unlikely friendships and the unreliability of first impressions." It's also supposed to be very funny. Rest your sore muscles. diva49, Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay on the battleship. My brother took his son and the Indian Guides for an overnight there years ago. They had a great time but, DB said the bunk racks were claustrophobic

@doordie I loved A Man Called Ove. It may have been made into a movie too. I read it a while ago. I am currently reading A Happy Healthy You by Mary Jo McCurley, a woman I met in Tucson, and 4 other women. I just added My Life as a Rat by Joyce Carol Oates to my summer reading.
Our son’s gardeners come early so I fed and crated his dogs at 6:45. Uncrated them at 11 with treats like a dog grandma should. I’ve done several errands and will read before I start dinner, chicken albondigas in a homemade tomato sauce from Zahav. I am totally infatuated with this book, the recipes, stories etc.
