Thanks for the start, Karen. Iggy leaves on the 13th. The Dragons are a class A farm team for the Reds. That’s too bad on the shoes impeding your progress at Osteo. You wouldn’t think shoes would make such a difference in strength exercises. The pregnant niece is the middle child. The one with the child is the eldest. How is the soreness today? That is weird about the asphalt making the tire pressure read higher. Do you think Arya is dreaming when she is moving around in bed?
Becky, glad to hear the kitties are doing fine along with Miss Scooter. Did you go walking today?
Liz, how was the appointment with the doc? 4 day weekend coming up! Yay!
Kathy, I wouldn’t want to leave the house if our heat index was as high as yours. I hope the heat wave breaks before GF and fam go to Disney. I think they leave around the 13th.
Linda, i hope you a d Micki get to have your walk today. I bet he was amusing do his wet dog dance.
Not much going on today. We are in the middle of another thunderstorm. Dayton is supposed to have fireworks and the weather guessers say it will dry out before the tonight. The little burb I live near had their celebration last Saturday. Iggy is hoping to grill kofta tomorrow (ground beef with parsley, garlic, onion, allspice wrapped around skewers). I bought some large portabello mushroom caps and zucchini for him to grill for me.

Good Afternoon Chicks and thanks for the start Karen.
Quick stop in to see how you are all doing.
Karen - sorry that the shoes are affecting Osteo. How are the feets doing in general? Is Arya just restless or as Chele mentioned, maybe having dreams? Any plans for you tomorrow? The injection went generally well but hurt more this time. I had the wonderful experience once again of having the wound "unroofed." Damn if that doesn't hurt like all get out!! I have been sworn by my doctor to spend my days off doing my best to just elevate and walk, elevate and walk. The wound is healing but because of the area and nerves, thin skin etc. it's still painful. Yes, I am back in another Unna boot until next Tuesday. Wally has acclimated better than I would have expected at this point, there are issues but they are minimal generally speaking. Another basset hound for Arya might be good company and reassuring, just kind of saying.
Chele - i hope the thunderstorm has passed you by now. We are due to have some of them as well this evening and then off and on throughout the next few days. The appointment was good but painful and the doc is trying to get approval for the other leg by the end of the month. What's on the menu for tomorrow? They are having fireworks this evening in our town so I will be on "take care of the doggies during crazy noises evening."
Becky - be careful in that heat while walking! Glad that the fur babies are doing well. Hope you have a good evening!
Kathy - how goes things with you? Is the heat still so oppressive? Any plans for tomorrow?
Linda - glad that the temps are such that you were able to get Micki out for a walk. Hope you have a great Birthday week!
I need to run ladies; have a great evening and ciao for now~

That is nasty weather with humidity in Florida! We are 107 and dry...which is better!
Ouch Liz. I do not even want go think about that pain. You really need to do what they said and REST.
Called the tree guy ...going to have go remove the 25 foot almond tree dying...and I think roots rotting under it. Usually only see that with stumps. Need it gone before high winds with monsoon storms.
.I swear nothing is the same fit in the same size any more...just sent this tee shirt back to Amazon and ordered another right size...i really hate that with bras, even same company!
Did I say errands done? 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴.
Just took the tee shirt to UPS, a big collection of toner cartridges and printer ones piled up forever to Staples to recycle. a pile of books a friend returned that I did not want went to Changing Hands for credit where I bought three Indestructibles. those are laminated small baby books that you can wash and they do not die. This is the fifth kid to get them. Then dog food at Petsmart.
Need to rebathe Micki with calming shampoo ..his anti schnauzer bump shampoo upset his tummy skin and kept me up until the Apoquel worked late last night. So I did not get up and walk him before it got hot...maybe after supper.

Becky, we may have matching Garmins when I get mine. I don't want a black one, but I want a dark color so it doesn't show dirt as much. Let me know how long you can go without having to recharge. Can you go into the settings and redo the max HR? The typical forumula is 220 minus your age for your 100% HR. So if you can change it, you probably want to calculate what % you want before you start doing it. Max is typically 85%. Does your HR seem accurate? I have difficulty with mine when I'm on the NuStep. I have manually taken my pulse many times and it's typicaly not above 120. But I get funky readings on my Fitbit, which claims, for example, that I hit 179 on Tuesday. If I'm not breathing hard, I don't see that my HR could possibly be that high. That's actually 116% of max for me. I don't go above 135 on the elliptical. I always let my battery on my devices get to the low level so the battery doesn't develop a memory. I can usually charge mine in a little over an hour. If the temperature dropped that drastically, somebody in your area got rain. How will you and Kenneth celebrate the 4th?
Only 107, Linda?? I agree on the lower humidity being so much more comfortable. It can make it feel cooler than it actually is. We typically don't get below about 55% humidity here. What kind of imported goodies are you finding at Tuesday Morning? I really need to stay out of the food section there. LOL on Micki after his bath. I like your new avatar. Is it local? Sorry about Micki reacting to the shampoo. I guess he'll get to do the wet dog dance again. How old is your almond tree? Did you plant it or was it already there when you bought the house. Did it produce? I know it takes a long time for nut trees to start growing nuts.
Liz, wonder why the injection was more painful this time. I'm surprised the wound is still so painful. Your mantra for the next 4 days needs to be "elevate and walk". And don't answer the phone if it's St. Crazy calling. I've thought about getting Arya a big sis but the dog would have to be very confident like Phoebe was. With Dale's pending retirement, it would also come close to doubling our grocery bill some weeks because I would want the new dog on the same diet, so budget is now a concern. It would also give us a chance to go out now and then if they could be buds at home. Dale isn't interested in discussing it, however. I don't think a rescued dog ever gets totally over part of their earlier lives. Phoebe was with us for almost 11 years and there were still undesirable behaviors.
When will Iggy make the tabbouleh, Chele? Arya very well could be dreaming but maybe she has the doggy equivalent of RLS. Enjoy your portabellos and zukes. Will you marinate them first? I am going to be roasting veggies in the morning, cooking potatoes and corn in the IP, and Arya needs sweet potatoes baked as well. It's weird on the shoes and Osteo, but if you look at a lot of today's athletic shoes, they are not flat bottomed and the ones I got apparently pitch my feet toward the ball instead of the heel, which is what I need for a couple of the machines. Please send us a little of your extra rain. The skies looked like we were going to get hit last night but didn't get a drop. I am having to water the raised beds every morning and sometimes the potted plants twice a day.
Kathy, I think you said you were already having fireworks. Somebody set a bunch of them off around 1:30 am and woke me up, so they must have been pretty close. I was none to happy but didn't get out of bed to see what direction they were coming from. Would you believe one of the local fire departments is selling fireworks as a fundraiser? Yes, seriously!! I couldn't believe it when I drove past the station today. Will you be at DM's or DS's for the holiday? What's on the menu? Enjoy hearing about Japan.
I swam this morning and did a couple other little things around the house. I'm still tired and a bit sore. I had to run to pick up the CSA order this afternoon and the veggies look really good this week. I also stopped by the local convenience/dairy store (Weigel's for those of you who have been around here) to pick up Dale's weekly allotment of chocolate milk and lemonade. I think we are stocked for the holiday.

Karen, thanks for the start. Hope the soreness has worn off. I don't know how you get any sleep! Hope Arya isn't as restless tonight.
Chele, we're in the middle of a thunderstorm right now, so the heat has gone down a bit. That lightning before the storm broke was scary. The weather guy said we've had over 900 strikes in the past hour. Yikes!! It's sounding like there might be a little hail in with the rain too. I've never had kofta, but that combination sounds good. Portabella and zuchinni also sounds good. One of the major fireworks shows here is always on the 3rd, so hopefully this storm will move out before 9 tonight. The other big show is tomorrow night and we'll probably have similar weather. Maybe it will deter the neighborhood fireworks, but it will probably just make them set them off later. Someone was firing away around 10:30 last night.
Liz, sorry to hear the injection hurt more and you had to go through another unroofing. Hope you see some improvement soon. Hope you have a good holiday despite the elevating and walking. No big plans here. I think DS and family are exhausted from their vacation and then DN's vacation. I'm disgusted to hear that they took $2.5 million from the national park improvement funds for what's essentially a campaign rally tomorrow.
Linda, I don't think I'd like your weather either. Can we just skip ahead to fall already? Hope the calming shampoo helps Micki.
Becky, glad you were able to get a walk in this morning. I got 2 emails from WW saying that they want me back. It's the same deal we got last time with the 3 months at half price.

Karen, they were setting off fireworks here last night too. It almost seems like they're intentionally trying to annoy people if they set them off at 1:30am! We've had some of those too, although I usually blame it on college kids around here.

They have a lot if imported cookies, crackers, jams, coffee, tea, pasta, candy....I like the Nonni's blueberry biscotti and the tomato bruschetta tiny bread slices. They have real thin mints and fruit slice jellies made in Indiana.
