Thanks for the start, Chele. How was your 4th? I was watching the Reds game and they got poured on in the 8th inning. Did you get the same thing at your house? Do you have lots of leftover grilled veggies? Too bad Iggy has to work today. Bet he had the highways just about to himself on the commute. What's your plan for the day?
Becky, I will probably end up with a Garmin, especially given what you noted about less than stellar reviews on the Charge 3 and Inspire. I did contact Garmin to ask if they had plans to allow for interchangeable bands on the Vivosmart 4, so I'll let you know if they respond. Gardening is especially hard on my Fitbit bands, which is my biggest concern with the Garmin. I have my GPS Garmin for swimming. I just have to figure something out for gardening. I don't think it was so much what the president said in his speech that made it seem political, but that his biggest campaign donors got preferential treatment.
Nice picture of the birthday girls, Linda. Happy Birthday and I hope you will enjoy your special day and your trip to Flemings. Enjoy your low, low humidity. Ours is 86% at the moment.
Liz, hoping for no surprises (or explosions) for you today. Walk, elevate, and repeat. Enjoy some down time. Heaven knows you deserve it.
Are you ready to take a trip to Japan, Kathy? I hope the weather didn't impact your trip. I know you were walking the neighborhood for a while. Are you continuing to do that?
We had fireworks last night but, fortunately, they shot them off toward the west instead of south toward us. We retired to the bedroom with the shades drawn and turned up the volume on the TV. Arya still could hear them, however. The show finally ended about 10:15. Today I have laundry, cooking pilaf and veggies for Arya, and hopefully I will be able to get the rest of my plants for the fair into their containers so they will have about 6 weeks to acclimate. Then I have to finish the newsletter. I finally got the stuff from the president yesterday, so I just have to plug it in where I have allotted space and it will be ready to go. Maybe today/maybe not til tomorrow.

Thanks for the cake, Chele!
Up early, first dog and DH when they went for a walk, then at 6:15 the yard guys we fired showed up...the boss never told them. gave up on sleep.
Neighbors stopped blowing stuff up by ten. I turned up tv in the bedroom so Micki thought the noise was tv for a while, He is on the bed, Without it,he growls and makes short high pitched howls when he hears something. Sort of like weird talking protests.
Liz, was it food or a part that blew up...trying to figure it out

Nothing like a zero calorie cake, Linda! Youβre welcome! I love the picture of the birthday buddies. How nice to be sing to! That is not a bad price for the almond tree removal. Are they going to grind the stump? Karen, busy day for you. I hope the lake had a calming effect after all the Master Gardener drama. Poor little sweet potato. I am sure the noise is stressful. Becky, veggie meals can be very filling and high in fiber. I am glad you enjoyed the meal out. Liz, I hope you are relaxing, elevating, walking. Kathy, how was the get together? I went to the credit union (finally!) and filled the tank this morning. We had an additional 0.11 per gallon tax added to the cost this week. This from a Republican governor. I am grateful for the Kroger fuel discount. I made spiral zucchini, red sweet pepper, onions, grilled mushroom, artichoke with tomato sauce over red lentils with Gardein meatless meatballs for lunch. It should be good. Have a good Friday. It feels like Monday at our house.

Chele, thanks for the start. Love your birthday cakes! Hope you're enjoying some good leftovers today. The get together was nice. DBIL grilled salmon, chicken, and steak, so we had quite a selection. We enjoyed seeing DN's pics of Japan. Tokyo looked amazing, but so big and crowded. There was some beautiful scenery in Kyoto with mountains and gardens. He went to Nara Park and the Fushimi Inari Shrine. Their public transportation looked amazing. He took the bullet train to Kyoto. Sure wish we had something like that in Florida.
Karen, it looked threatening all afternoon, but I don't think we got any rain here yesterday. The downtown area had a shower before the fireworks, but it was clear when the fireworks show started. I watched the show on one of the local stations. It's a pretty site over the fountain at Lake Eola. Lots and lots of fireworks going off in the neighborhood last night, but I was pleasantly surprised that people stopped a little after 10. I don't enjoy walking in this heat and humidity, so will resume the neighborhood walks when it cools off a few months from now.
Happy Birthday Linda!! Great picture of you and your grand niece.
Becky, glad you enjoyed the lunch and the DC show.
Liz, are you elevating and walking? Hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend. You deserve a break! Wow on the explosion in the fridge. Hope the rest of the weekend is uneventful.

Happy Birthday Linda.
Chele Thanks for the start. To me veggie salads aren't usually that filling unless I have chicken or something in it.This was spring greens, cucumbers, carrots, etc and it was still satisfying and they had the best dressing. You are lucky to have a Krogers to get a fuel discount.Gas went up from $2.29 to $2.35 right before the 4th.
Karen I'm looking at my vivosmart 4 and unless they change the style of the tracker I don't think the bands will ever be changeable b/c the tracker itself sits on top of the band not inside like most Garmins do.If you want to stay with FB you might look into a Versa like Kathy has or even a versa lite. Those bands can be changed. It wasn't Trump's speech i was impressed with.It was the flyovers especially the Blue Angels.I had never seen them before and I was most impressed with that plus the whole tribute to the military.I do wish Trump would stay off Twitter though. We had very few fireworks last night.Kenneth only heard them when he was in his bathroom b/c the windows are open or when he took Scooter outside. Our neighbors across the road who used to get drunk and shoot them off all night have gotten a dog and hopefully that is why they don't shoot them off anymore.
Kathy I'm glad you enjoyed the get-together.Our rain has stopped and the heat has returned so if you have any extra just send it here.
Liz I hope you are elevating and walking.
I went for a walk at 7:45 this morning and any relief I had gotten out of the right knee injection is gone.I have been stiff and hurting really bad.Even 35 min on the bike hurt this afternoon.I did get some good news though.Since I have been on SS Disability I have had to pay a monetary penalty for Medicare because I didn't know I was supposed to file for it before Kenneth had to quit working b/c of his disability.Today I received a letter from SS saying that since I'm turning 65 on 8/24 it is going down by $40.I will be paying the same as Kenneth who didn't have the penalty. It's been frustrating with the penalty since I can't use original Medicare for anything anyway.

Thanks! Just got back from Cheesecake Factory. Micki is thrilled with leftovers.
Not grinding the stump... right near a large window and the process tends to throw stuff. They will get it shirt and i will put a pot with asparagus fern on it...trails over.
