WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C99D1 - total binge
I did forget one event this month. In a couple of weeks we have tickets to see Come From Away on Broadway. That day will involve a bacon cheeseburger, maybe some fries and maybe a dessert along the way.
Tomorrow I'm back on but I don't think I'll be as religious about 19 points and 1200 calories. I'll track every morsel and definitely stay OP while being a bit more flexible re points and calories. The purpose will be to get away from the on again off again mentality.

Good morning! A friend and I traveled to a MetroPark about 45 minutes away to ride along a river, but the threat of storms shortened our ride considerably. I wasn’t thrilled with the route anyway; there were lots of twists and turns and it wasn’t very well marked. Regardless, it was good to spend time with her and were going to a different trail tomorrow.
Eating is still so-so, some nutritious foods and some indulgences. I had chips and French onion dip yesterday. It’s been many years since I’ve had that. It’s just as good as when I was a kid. Reminds me of going to my grandma’s house.
Louise, I use an app called iTrackBites. It has several past versions of WW, as well as the current one with a paid subscription. I think it’s $39 annually for the premium subscription. The other versions are free. MFP and ITB are no more work than any other food log; once you do it a week or two your favorite foods are in there and pop right up.
Nancy, would you rather do a blind WI today? Regardless, it’s just a number, and it will go down quickly. You made me chuckle with your trips to DD.
Lori, how will you keep your husband occupied today? Are you able to sit outside during the day, or is it brutally hot and humid like it is here?

Three new experiments. Bear with me please.
1. We talked about activity today. They're suggesting mapping out a block of time for exercise and making it a habit. The best time for me, other than my normal activities, would be about 5:30 after our early dinner. Weather permitting, that's a nice time for a walk. One item on my to do list is to go thru all of my dances (about 50 of them) and try them out to all the song options, deleting the songs that don't really work. I never get to it, so I'm deciding to kill two birds with one stone. When the weather doesn't work for walking at that hour, I'll spend 30 minutes on the dances. Win Win.
2. I'm going to track every morsel except for the very occasional isolated meal. But I'm not going to plan in advance. The idea is to eat what and when I really feel like it rather than eating just because it's on my plan or because it's a certain time.
3. I'm going to start posting my steps even if it's lower than 10,000. Hopefully that will encourage a little more activity even though lower than I wish.
Jan - Something must be wrong with their scale. I was going to be satisfied with a 5 lb gain. Instead I was up .8. That's impossible. I bet it will be up next week no matter what I do.

Happy with official WI 140, especially right after a BBQ. I was perfectly happy with bringing my burger, roll, watermelon and chickpea muffins. I took a piece of homemade banana/chocolate chip bread home and enjoyed it for my last snack of the day. Everyone said they liked the muffins, of course, I called them banana nut muffins..lol
Nancy, sorry about yesterday - sounds like one of those days when we just want to consume everything we normally say normal “no thanks” to...I love your experiments and how you try many different options! All three sound great - looking forward to reading how they work for you... Great that you went to your meeting. I always feel like that’s a reset button. The scale can be so unpredictable in both directions....
Jan, today DH did his usual Camaro ride and is now mowing the grass on his riding mower. I had errands to run after WW meeting. Tomorrow we have a viewing to attend (very close family friend’s husband passed) that’s 1 1/2 hours away so that will break up the day. I’m sitting on the front porch now and I’m listening to the thunder getting closer... storm is coming...

Lori - Yep I was anxiously awaiting the meeting to get me restarted. The activity discussion was just what the doctor ordered. The members of our group were wonderfully supportive - lots of "been there, done that". I was very lucky to have found this particular group and leader. That homemade banana/chocolate chip bread sounds yummy. Bringing it home was the way to get the most bang for the buck. A great tradition that you've been faithfully following for quite a while now. WTG!

Fri stats: SP 25 AP 3
Workshop day today. After gaining a total of 1.4# over the last two weeks, today I had a loss of 2.8# putting me at 150.2#. I did the story for our review of last weeks Weekly topic: Turn It Around dealing with small weight gains. My two strategies for dealing with it were walking and one treat a day. Was it Jan who said I should go without any treats for a week? I did that with the exception of fruits and yogurts.
I also managed to track all my APs for the "week".
Temperatures got into the high 80s low 90s today. We had a rolling thunder, I'm pretty sure I saw some lightening, and then there was a deluge of rain mid afternoon. The severe weather watch remains in effect until 8 pm. The humidity right now is 63%.

Louise - I don't think Jan was referring to fruits and yogurts as treats. Kudos for a treat-free day. One down, six to go <g>.
