Good Morning! Ann - I had to laugh as today is laundry day, as well as my birthday, so not so special, lol. DH is taking me out to eat tonight, once I decide where I want to eat. I'm leaning toward Greek/Lebanese or Mexican.
I haven't accomplished much today so far, other than talking on the phone with friends and relatives calling/texting to wish me a happy birthday. I am certainly counting my blessings. My big plan for the day is to finish up laundry, so I can finish packing. It is sweltering hot with very little breeze, so I'm not sure I can talk myself into a walk, though I really need one. I wish there was an indoor mall close by where I could walk in air-conditioned comfort, but the nearest one is in BTR. I may opt for the stationary bike, where I can at least have fans blowing on me. The room where it is is not included in our central air and the window unit got moved sometime back.
I noticed a sheriff's car at DB house yesterday afternoon, but figured it was one of the deputies chatting with DB. Not! His 21 ft. aluminum bateau was stolen from his yard, right under a security light. His house is on the end of the street next to a cane field, so it's possible whoever took it used a cane field road for access. I remember a time when no one in this neighborhood even locked their houses or vehicles at night or when running errands during the day. Not so anymore!
Hope you all have a great day!

Wow Pam so sorry to read about what happened to your DB. So many good neighborhoods are being threatened these days. I hope it all works out for him. Please keep us posted. The heat has come back here as well. We did our shopping and stopped at the farmer's market for fresh produce. I was glad that I had cash on me LOL, as we normally just use the credit card I'll walk, but only when the sun goes down. No need to get myself overheated! I'm not a fan on summertime...truth be told My favorite season has always been fall. I enjoy weather when it's in the 70's! Well, time to get back to my kindle. I really hope that you decide on a special restaurant and have a nice meal out, Pam. You so deserve it Happy bday again!

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! We have a beautiful sunny 80ish day here and enjoying it very much.
Ann ~ Thanks for opening us up this morning. I was off to school earlier than usual so didn't get a chance to peek in let alone post. I am so in agreement with you about not walking when it is stifling. We never have and it truly IS on purpose!!
Pam ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Hope you pick just the perfect place to celebrate with your dinner.
I worked at 9 this morning, but we were over-staffed by afternoon so I offered to come home an hour early. I was leaving at 3 anyway, and the next person to leave was at 5 - so it made the most sense for me to go.
My DH has been suffering with a swollen sore hand the past few days. He called our doctor's office today only to be told there were no appointments until Thursday; he went to the Urgent Care and the parking lot was completely full; so he finally went to Kroger and talked to the pharmacist who said it looks like a bug bite and recommended Benadryl. He helped him find it (the generic of course) and sent him home. He took his first dose and it helped immensely - only he is so sleepy he is almost unable to stay awake. As long as his hand heals, that is what matters most.
I have put together a bulgur/mango/avocado salad for supper tonight and added some Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce to some shredded pulled pork. I also made a Krab Macaroni salad that is waiting in the fridge for tomorrow night's supper. My extra hour at home helped me greatly today!!
Since I've been home I called the newspaper again and talked to a very nice young lady who tried to help me, and ended up making contact with an eEdition specialist who was going to look into our account and either email me instructions to get it to work, or call me by phone. We'll see ......
BBL. Make a great day!!

Ouch to DH bug bite. Same thing happened to me and yes that does make you sleepy. Hope it clears up. My pharmacist also suggested ice.

Hi Ann ~ Speaking of ice, I had DH start icing yesterday when the swelling started, so he's way ahead of the game on that. He's feeling much better, just sleepy.

Good morning all. Woke up to a wonderful temperature of 59 I know it's not going to last, but it feels good with the screen room door opened right now. Sue so happy that DH hand is improving. Today I go for a manicure at the end of the day. Carl has a dental cleaning late morning. While he is gone, I'll do some organizing and then sit and read. Nothing pressing on my agenda. Pam what cuisine did you end up choosing? Hope you had a wonderful meal out. June waving I'll CBL

Hi all,
Well, I am all alone now and was feeling sad last night with such an empty house last night. After 12 people over two weeks, it is too quiet, but I have to admit, I was ready for a long sleep!
Our DS and DDIL and baby left yesterday morning for NJ. Sad to see them go but everyone had fun. My DN and his boyfriend left last night. We had a fabulous day yesterday at our favorite seafood restaurant for lunch (they treated me) followed by a rousing game of mini golf 🏌️♀️ and then a trip to our family favorite ice cream spot for sundaes. Then the three of us returned home, took naps and read until they left for Boston to have dinner with friends and take an early flight back to Raleigh/Durham today. What memories we all had! I just love spending time with them and my DN is so much like my late brother in looks and wonderful personality. My DH had to head back on Sunday to work yesterday. I’ll be heading home today by noon or so. Too bad because it is a beautiful beach day but vacation has ended! I did all the sheets and towels last night from all the beds. It’s like being a hotel chambermaid. 😂.
Pam, Happy birthday!🎂🎉🎁. I hope you have a very fun celebration 🍾 with family today. And you have a great trip planned to Michigan to see you DD and crew, too! Your DH sounds a little like mine. When it gets too hectic with too much commotion here, he quietly disappears to the patio or flower garden. I, on the other hand, am always on the thick of it. I know I am an obliger type personality and I try hard to make sure everyone is taken care of, fed and happy. Lol - especially when it comes to the little ones.
Ann, I love summer as long as it is not too humid. I heard the muggy weather is coming back this week. Ugh. I’m a beach girl at heart at around 80 degrees and dry. Lol I love the water.
Sue, I’m glad your DH has the hand swelling under control. Those bug bites are nasty. Poor Doug, our dog, was stung by a bee last night during our walk. He is obsessed with bugs and goes after them and a bee stung him on the paw. I searched for the stinger but he has long hair so I could not find it. He seems fine now.
off to get the last load out of the dryer! Oh, despite my lack of tracking and eating off the rails, I have managed to maintain and I weigh exactly the same as I did two weeks ago! It astounds me and also shows me just how important moving around is to my weight control. I rarely have sat down while the gang was here. Interesting. TTFN

Judy so good to hear from you. By the sound of it, you had a wonderful time with family/friends. Wow 12 is a lot of people! Oh my poor Doug indeed. Hope the little guy isn't too uncomfortable. Balancing eating with movement is key, Judy. Happy that you maintained. Pat yourself on the back from me Yup, the 'muggies' are returning. Time for me to get a move on. Carl will be leaving for his dental cleaning. While he is away I'll do some ahem...'organizing' LOL.

Hi all again. Home again, home again jiggity jig as my mom used to say! I’ve been scurrying around unpacking and getting settled. Two weeks is a long stretch so i went thru about half the mail, paid bills, unpacked all the clothes, jewelry and makeup etc that I did not wear...lol. I swear it was too busy to even take time to do much more than throw in shorts and tee shirts and go. 😀.
My DH is not feeling well and says it is the heat but I am concerned just the same. He had dinner, and no pep at all. He’s gone off to bed early. I wish he would think about stopping this work project. He does not need to work and I know he feels valued and so forth but it is a lot. There is no telling him, though. He was retired for over 5 years when he accepted this “short”little project that was to go for about 6 months. It’s two years now! We worry about these fellas, don’t we?
Im not really excited about going back to work tomorrow. i could use some more time at home to wind down and regroup, but it’ll be good to see friends.
ann, it’s so good to catch up with you, Pam and Sue. Glad you’ve been doing well. I need to go back and read earlier posts to catch up. Have a great night.

Good morning all. Going to be another humid day. Have dehumidifier running which helps. I shall lay low and walk later in the day. Will be easy to keep hydrated.
WB Judy. I agree. It's hard to keep a DH from overdoing. Carl is like that as well and I fret and worry like a mother hen. Praying it's just the heat.
Wishing all a good OP day. Will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! Today I am especially glad that I set a limit on how many days I would work each week. There was a need today, but my need to relax and unwind trumps their need at school. So far I have worked on my tablet (playing Boggle and Words With Friends etc) and tracked my food for the day. I plan to just take it easy. I sliced up a big bowl of strawberries with sweetener for another Strawberry Waffle supper and will grill some sirloin burgers and some turkey burgers to have in the upstairs freezer. I have all the ingredients for Broccoli/Feta salad so I may make it later in the week.
Last night I made a big tossed salad with mixed greens and grape tomatoes, tossed with Ken's Light Northern Italian dressing - then topped each bowl with a serving of Krab Macaroni salad. It was beautiful and filling and we enjoyed it very much. I just LOVE our summer menus - and about the time I get tired of them the weather will cool off again.
Speaking of cooling off, apologies to Pam (who I believe is flying to MI today?) as our temperate days are over for now. Today will be 90 and very humid so they say. It is predicted to be milder (low 80's) Thursday and Friday. I am working again tomorrow and it should be a beautiful day on the playground. Then I am off on Friday and my work partner and I are meeting for lunch on Mr. B's Roadhouse patio and the weather should be perfect (81 and sunny). Nonetheless, Pam, enjoy your visit!!
Judy ~ Welcome home! It sounds like you had a fabulous time and really enjoyed yourself, and your company!! You are so good at that. I believe it is a real talent and you certainly demonstrate it! Your family is so very lucky to have you there to take care of the Cape house and host and entertain. I know that feeling of being out of it (even if just a bit) when returning from a trip away. I turned down a request to sub the day after we return from our Lexington trip for that reason. I want to unpack and regroup.
Ann ~ We also have the muggies returning today. I don't mind the heat so much as the humidity. We have left our A/C on and doors and windows closed. Oddly enough, it never came on yesterday until late in the afternoon and hasn't come on today. It is actually 3 dg cooler in here than the A/C setting.
I stayed up until 10 last night watching "America's Got Talent" but slept very well. I woke at 5:30 and decided it was way too early to get up, so went back to sleep and didn't wake up until 7:30! I was very happy about that as I feel very refreshed. We had had a busy day at school yesterday and I was more tired than usual, so the extra sleep was welcomed.
We have a busy weekend coming up with a birthday party AND a grad party on Saturday, then another grad party on Sunday. We will only go to put in an appearance and probably not stay long, especially if it is terribly hot. They are all close by so not much travel time involved.
We are meeting our friends from Missouri (mom & MSU student daughter) for dinner tonight at The Outback Steakhouse, which I am really looking forward to!! I have already decided to have the Steakhouse Salad that I love and have tracked my SP for today.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue kudos for you for taking care of YOU. I'm a firm believer in ENOUGH is ENOUGH. My fun tasks are complete and after Carl's nap from working outside, we'll go to Hannaford's as I forgot to pick up grapes that were on sale. Luckily it's just down the road from us. Never know what else will jump into the cart Enjoy Outback. I love that place. You have a lot of festivities. Enjoy. Tomorrow Carl and I are donating blood. We have to be there for 11:00 a.m. After that I'll do a little retail therapy and then go into Weight Watchers for my monthly weigh in and pick up my etool voucher. Take care all........waving and enjoy the day!
