My weight has literally been all over the map this week...a few oz. lost here a few gained there LOL...but it's all good. Be interesting to see what the WW scale has got to say Wishing all a good day and will try to pop in later.

Hi All,
I started a post but was interrupted at work (the nerve of them!) and lost it.
I totally agree with Ann about when ENOUGH activity is enough. Ann, I love how you succinctly say so much! I had a busy day at work yesterday after my 2.5 week hiatus, but it was still easier than 12 house guests and nonstop activity. LOL I loved every minute (well, nearly every minute..:-), but am glad to get back to normal. I declined a dinner at a book club friend's last night with two other members. They wanted to catch up on summer activities and have fun, but I was wiped out and still weeding through mail, etc. So, I cooked a nice Blue Apron shrimp/quinoa dinner and finished sorting mail (mostly junk) and then relaxed watching some of Big Little Lies on HBO. I texted a bit with my DN's boyfriend who was thanking me for the visit and we had some chuckles. Our DD also called and is planning another trip to see us in September if she can. She really misses family - especially after an extended visit with them. There really is no one like your family sometimes. I declined an Asian lunch yesterday with co-workers. I would loved to have visited but I brought my leftover Blue Apron Chicken/Pesto/Romaine salad and am committed to my TOPS aka STARS group on Wednesday. We had a nice, quiet catch up. I am still happy that I maintained during vacation. I have lost another pound this week. Woo-hoo! I do notice that I am sitting way too much again at work but that is the nature of my job.
Sue, I'll bet Pam will find MI temps much more tolerable than LA in the summertime even if it is humid. Have fun, Pam! Hope you had a good flight. Sue, my work friend just came back from two weeks in MI. Her sister used to live in Traverse City and they spent a lot of time touring her old stomping grounds up in the UP. For two weeks, they rented houses, cabins and motels on both Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. They ferried across Lake Superior. I remember fondly my teen years on Lake Michigan in Petoskey and Harbor Springs. So pretty. I expected the water to be salty since it seemed so much like the ocean.
Tonight I have a long overdue hair cut and color. Can't wait to get my hair fixed up and to see my fun "other daughter" stylist!
Have a wonderful day all! I will bbl.
P.S. Sue, your dinners sound so scrumptious. The salads and how you rotate the crab and other goodies sounds yummy and healthy! Hope the Outback was fun!
P.P.S. Ann, you and Carl are so great to donate blood. Your halos are shining for all the good deeds you do. Hugs!

Judy so happy you opted out of the time spent with friends. Sometimes you just have to say...ENOUGH lol. I bet it felt different being back to work. At lest you'll get to 'relax' ?! Hopefully it's not a hectic day for you. Enjoy your cut/color! Our blood donations are one and done and next time we can give is on or after September 15th. It's a great feeling donating. I remember how crushed I was when I went to donate and was turned down due to the fact that I had not been off the cancer medications long enough. Pam absolutely LOVED the picture. Thanks for sharing. Sue have you asked Alexa to play your most requested songs? Well, going to do a few more online things and then shut down and read until it's time to leave for my monthly weigh in. Take care, all!

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
My work week is over!! I stopped at Meijer and grocery shopped on the way home and got lots of "stuff" as well as a little bit of food. That "stuff" really adds up!! But I'm all restocked now.
I also brought home a rotisserie chicken and a bag of broccoli slaw which I have mixed with Ken's Asian Sesame dressing and will fix another side with it. Haven't decided what yet??
I'm ready to chill out for the rest of the evening. Wishing you all well .....

Happy Friday. Woke up to an overcast sky. It rained on and off yesterday, quite heavy at times and we are in for a repeat performance today. Oh well...so be it. Trying to learn to 'let go' of the things I have no control over Hopefully we'll get together with Linda and Mike today. Linda has a lot of family drama, so I understand when she has to back out. Wishing all a wonderful Friday and will CBL.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I woke really refreshed this morning which was very welcome. DH got up early as he has a job he wants to finish, so I followed along a few minutes later and we got to eat breakfast together. He had lots of free time, then suddenly everyone needs him. He is also hoping to get to our nephew's house which is without A/C currently and he'd like to get him up and running before the heat returns next week.
Pam ~ Thanks for the email and picture. Glad you arrived safely. Hopefully you are enjoying your visit in MI!
Judy ~ Congrats on your picking & choosing what food activities to participate in. That was one of my biggest struggles in the beginning, as I tend toward the "all or nothing" mentality - but finally learned to trust the Program (and myself) enough to indulge sometimes and to skip some as well. Congrats on your WL!! That is awesome, coming right off of vacation. You should pat yourself on the back.
Ann ~ Congrats on your WL!! I remember you wanted to get back to your "happy place" and hopefully this did it?? No, I haven't had a chance to ask Alexa to play my most requested songs, but I'll try to remember. I was pleased yesterday morning when she reminded me it was a friend's birthday and I was able to text her early (before school).
We ended up having the (skinned and boned) rotisserie chicken for supper last night with just the Sesame Ginger broccoli slaw and it was plenty. Just about as easy as it gets. And we have leftover chicken as well as slaw.
I got all my cards for the weekend yesterday. My nephew also walked me through purchasing a gift card online for his restaurant. I emailed it to myself (instead of the recipient) so I could print it and put it inside his birthday card. We are attending his birthday party tomorrow afternoon, but we are meeting them at that restaurant the following weekend. I will put cash in the two graduation cards.
We also have the overcast weather today and it cooled off considerably overnight (below 60). I had the windows open and still do. It is only going up to low 80's today so we'll see if the A/C can get a rest. I have been putting away some clean laundry and catching up on the computer - and soon will get ready to go meet my work partner for lunch. I am looking forward to that!! I have thawed tilapia loins for supper and will make most likely a cucumber/tomato salad to go with it.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all!!!
It is nap time for the kiddos so Grammie has a few precious minutes to play catch up with friends.
DH has stocked up on groceries and water, both for drinking and toilet flushing, and charged all the solar lights in case of a power outage as Tropical storm/Hurricane Barry comes ashore tonight and tomorrow. Predictions are for up to 25" of rain. DH is thanking my deceased dad for "harrassing" us to make sure the slab of our house was a foot higher than the street. It meant we had to have 60 truckloads of dirt hauled in and the neighbors thought we were crazy, but we have never worried about flooding, while neighbors on either side had water more than once. So far, it looks like Barry will be lots of rain, but not much wind. I just pray it moves through quickly, and doesn't sit on top of us pouring rain down. DD1 has been quite busy as she is the designated emergency preparedness person for home health & hospice. They always have to help patients prepare, especially those on oxygen, in case of an extended power outage.
Sue, I have been pleased with the weather. Even Thursday, when it was supposedly near 90, it felt much cooler than the 102-105 heat index I left behind! Today, we had planned to take the kids to a park with a splash pad, but it's a little too cool for that, since it has stayed overcast.
Anna and I had good flights coming up and I was able to get us seated near each other, even though we had basic economy tickets. On one leg, she was in the row just in front of me and the other she was beside me. We had free videos on the Atlanta-Detroit leg, which she greatly enjoyed.
Yesterday, DSIL's grandmother took us out to lunch. This morning, we did grocery shopping and also went by Khol's and Bath & Body Works, for which DD3 had coupons. I got little Leah a toy at Khol's and used a $5 off coupon I had. Tomorrow, DD3, Anna & I will go to the Lavender Festival while the little girls have play time with their cousins who are visiting from the DC area. The grownups will go out to dinner in the evening, while the little ones stay with a babysitter. We are finding it hilarious that Anna is very quiet and doesn't talk much until DSIL comes home. Then she talks lots. She has loved him since she was a little girl and DD & DSIL were dating and they are still great friends. He is a sweetheart and stayed up playing UNO with her and DD, even though he had to get up early for work.
It sounds like you are all doing well in the WL department and making wise meal choices. I am trying to do the same, and since DD is on WW, I am fairly confident I will avoid a big vacation gain. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Sue I am happily back into my happy zone. I wish I had more 'wiggle room' I just need to watch portions and do the weight watcher plan and NOT the AnnPlan LOL. I alternate between the two and sometimes it gets out of balance Your meal sounds great and hope you enjoy the bday party. Pam glad that you are enjoying cooler temps. Right now it's a steam bath out there. It poured buckets which made it worse! I'll stay inside until it cools way down. Sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Will try to CBL

So good to hear from all of you ......
Nothing is so constant as change so they say. I changed my mind about the graduation "gifts" and instead purchased Tropical Smoothie Cafe gift cards for both girls. I like cards so much more than cash, though I know they won't care either way. So since it was my choice I got the cards and now I'm happy!!
I enjoyed lunch with my work partner. We sat on the patio but out in the open instead of under cover. The temp hovered right around 70 and was overcast most of the time, then the sun care out after we finished eating and were just sitting there visiting. We always have a good time together and this year since we are both working in Summer Child Care (though not together) we had plenty to share and compare. The two hours just flew by and we started planning our next get-together already for a couple of weeks out, so we can fit in another one before school starts.
Pam ~ Good to hear that you are prepared for the storm. Hope all goes well there. I thought about you when I heard the news the other day. Sounds like you are having quite a good time! Were you going to the Splash Park in Clarkston? It is where we spent the 4th of July.
I enjoyed a Mediterranean Plate with chopped Greek salad, chicken skewers, hummus and warm pita bread. That sounded good before I got there and then I saw it on the menu and I just knew! It was all that I anticipated (and more).

Hey all,
So good to read your posts and to catch up with Pam. Your SIL sounds like a gem and what a sweet relationship with Anna. My little DGD just loves my nephew from NC and will talk her head off to him. He is a psychologist and a very nice guy! It is so great for kids to have time with their extended families no matter what effort and travel it takes. Sounds like you are doing great with food choices and having a DD on WW is a big win! I think you and your DH were brilliant to build your house up higher for flood protection. So scary and I hope that all that rain does not drop on your neck of the woods. How long will you be in MI?
Sue, I had an Asian salad today, too, at a good restaurant for another colleague's birthday. She is my favorite co-worker and sadly is retiring soon. This place will be so lost without her. She is the keeper of all the institutional knowledge of the university and works for the President. We will stay in touch, but I'm very, very sad to see her go. She is just what you would call salt of the earth and wonderful - smart, kind, dependable, very creative and more. I am very happy for her. No one deserves it more! Today, Ann, we went to the Boynton. I love that place. Huge varied wonderful menu!
Sue, your cuke/tomato salad sounds great, too! Love that combo. Sometimes I get tired of all the lettuce, kale and greens! Have fun at all your grad parties. I think the smoothie place sounds awesome! They'll love that and they will use it! Your lunch with a co-worker sounds like fun. Everyone wants to sit and chat with you. I will bet you are a fantastic listener. How is your DH doing? Mine feels much better. He had some sort of bug, I think.
I had my hair cut and colored last night and a good catch with my stylist. My hair is shorter and nice to get some foils and highlights, too. My hairdresser is moving on her own to a new, pretty location. She has a big following now and she's such a hard worker. I need to come up with a nice gift for her little guy who just turned three. I am thinking an "experience" rather than a gift. Maybe a day at the zoo or something like that they can do together.
TTFN...nearly time to go and TGIF! Though it has been a very short week for me! (I liked that!)
Ann, glad you are in your happy weight place. I think the Ann Plan sounds like fun and I have a feeling I have been on it for a while! LOL
We are staying home this weekend to regroup and do some yard work. Our back yard looks like a jungle but it is very private and pretty with a babbling brook running through it. We never really use it - only the deck overlooking it, but we need to get rid of some of the vegetation that has shot up with all the heat lately.
My weight was down another lb today. I am just making better choices overall and telling myself nothing is off limits altogether. when I do that, I tend to gravitate towards the red light foods! If I tell myself I can have the ice cream, but just not now - maybe later - it works for me. So much of weight loss is in the head!

Yeah to another # gone or as I sing.."another one bites the dust" lol.
Sue I also prefer giving and getting gift cards. Great choice.
Just waiting for it to cool down more before I head on out to walk LuLa.
Right now going to read a bit. Hopefully this time around I won't fall asleep lol.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
And nothing being so constant as change ..... Yesterday afternoon DH came home early and asked about supper and suggested we go out for fish. I had put our tilapia in the fridge where it will have to stay for a couple of days. It is vacuum-sealed so should be fine. We went to his VBF's restaurant where they were having a fish fry and though it was a splurge, it was definitely worth every single calorie and SP!!
I have a quiet morning on tap. I have chosen an outfit for the afternoon of white capris and a red/white striped top. Both are light-weight as it will be very warm this afternoon and I am sure we'll be outdoors. I am looking forward to our parties; and glad the cards are all ready to go so I don't have any more preparation to do, other than getting myself ready.
We had oatmeal with blueberries for breakfast this morning and I'l have a HB egg for a lunch/snack. Our first party is at 3 p.m. so I'm sure there will be food involved. The second (Grad Open House) will include a pig roast (which I just love!).
Yesterday I learned how to link my Sirius XM radio (from my car) to my Echo and Alexa will play it (in my house). I had to ask her for help but got it done. Usually I let it expire after my free trial runs out, but they sent me a great offer and one that I know from past experience is their best one, so I may take them up on it. I am not in my car long enough at a time to pay for it, but if I can also play it at home whenever I want, that changes the whole deal!
Time to go start some laundry. BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue like you I'm open to change. Glad you enjoyed your fish fry. Actually I prefer fried fish lol.
Great idea on linking Sirus via Alexa. I shall look into that.
