Linda, I love the dog with the Corona. Too funny! Your pool crowd at the Y sounds similar to mine when I was doing the classes here. Given what you have been experiencing healthwise for the past few months, I know diet hasn't been at the forefront. And you have so many options for places to eat in and take out that you haven't had to cook a great deal when you didn't feel like it. Good luck getting the diet back under control. It gets harder to lose every year once you're out of your 20s. Just curious to what side dishes cost at Flemings and if they have a salad bar. The most expensive place around here is a seafood buffet that is $25 without crab legs and $35 with. We went once and won't be going back.
It looks like there may be a tropical storm forming in the Gulf, Becky. Are you going to get rain from it? My Alta HR came with a black band that is still in the jewelry case, having never been worn. I mostly wear bright colored bands--hot pink, lavender, aqua, lime. For me, black is just boring. I use the Garmin Connect app with my 735XT so I will just have to add the VS4 to the dashboard when I get it. I will miss the Fitbit weekly updates, however. Connect interfaces very nicely with My Fitness Pal as well. Is the VS4 like the Fitbit Alta and automatically goes into sleep mode when it senses you are inactive for a period of time? I remember my first Fitbit had to be double tapped to put it in and out of sleep mode. Do you see it as pretty accurate for tracking sleep?
Kathy, I forgot that your Versa was a gift. I'm used to wearing my big Garmin in the lake and kayaking, but wore it this morning for the first time for indoor exercise because my Alta HR battery was low. It took a little getting used to. Do you wear your Versa 24/7? I think it would be a bother to sleep with it. From what I saw on the Noon weather, that rain you have been getting may be the precursor of the tropical storm that may be headed for Texas. Has your rain stopped yet? From the look of the weather map, you may not have to worry about watering for a while. I saw that a UCF study is prominent in the news, stating that the increase in autism may be linked to processed foods. Apparently the numbers are still climbing and 1 in 59 kids now falls somewhere on the autism scale. I have a nephew on each side of the family with high to moderate functionality. Dr. McDougall keeps saying "it's the food" so it will be rather sad if this research pans out and fast food is at fault.
What's going on with Iggy, Chele? Is he starting to feel better? Did he make a doctor's appointment? Do you have any big plans for the week? You haven't been to your DB's in Oregon for a while. Any plans to go?
Liz, I hope today won't be totally insane with your being off for 4 days. How's the leg doing? Do you think you'll be in another Unna tomorrow?
High grass pollen has been affecting me pretty significantly for the past couple of days. I have a few things to do around the house but won't go outside any more than I have to. I didn't even go down to the lake to swim this morning, opting for the rowing machine and treadmill. I only did 5 minutes on the treadmill, the first time I've used it since the 1st surgery. I was up and down during the night coughing and blowing my nose, so I didn't get the best night's sleep. We got a shower last night so I didn't have to go out and water this morning, which was great news.

Karen, I don't track sleep with the Versa although I did for a few nights when I first got it. It pretty much confirmed that I sleep like a rock, so I don't feel the need to keep tracking it. It was interesting though to see the more advanced stats with the deep sleep. I think my original Fitbit just tracked hours slept and no other stats. We're on the messy side of the tropical disturbance, so it's going to be dragging more rain across the state until it moves west. We've only had light rain so far today, but it doesn't really get going until late afternoons. I heard that report on autism this morning and it's really interesting. I don't remember anyone being diagnosed with it when I was growing up. We ate less fast food back then, especially when we were younger. I only remember getting it occasionally when we were on a road trip. Even then we usually packed an ice chest and made our own lunches. It would be great if they could pinpoint the cause, so they would know how to prevent it going forward. My DM's neighbors have a son diagnosed with it and he's a very smart kid. He's making good grades in college studying computer science, but I wonder how he's going to do when he gets into the work force. Same here on the coughing and blowing my nose. The coughing was worse last week for some reason. I think all the rain has helped clear out some of the pollen. How did the treadmill feel on the feets?
Chele, how is Iggy today?
Waving to all. Have a good Monday.

Karen, thanks for the start. Sorry to hear the allergies are going full force. It’s good you don’t have to water. Iggy has an appointment next Monday with the PCP, the same day I have my glaucoma tests. He was going to tell the big boss this afternoon that he won’t be going on vacation. He broke the news to his family yesterday. They think he is hiding some bad news but, honestly, we don’t know what the problem is yet. I don’t have plans to go to Oregon at this point. I keep sending my DB things to do in Ohio. It’s his turn to travel east.
I did some yard work yesterday afternoon and woke up sneezing, congested and headachy. It has gotten better this afternoon. I did my workout and some laundry. I, too, am avoiding the great outdoors. The Apple Watch doesn’t go into to sleep mode as far as counting steps which is a good thing for me. The other step counters used to drive me nuts on that front.
Waving to all the gang. I hope it’s an easy week for you, Liz.
Cross posted with you, Kathy. I hope the worst of the storm passes you by. I feel your allergy pains. At least science has proven, it is not vaccinations that cause autism

Iggy still not well?
Flemings...hmm veg sides are huge and run around 9, salad too. So 45 for sliced filet with glaze on mashed potatoes with a large salad and bread and dessert is a deal.
All set to go to art late because I did not sleep well and couldn't drag it out of bed, then just did not feel like painting...and that usually results in bad product, so i put my stuff back in the closet and we went out to cut up the big ash branch that fell in the winds pushed here by eastward storms...thankfully no dust. two trash bags and a bare branch later, i had to fix water on a potted plant drying out and move the hose which has been running 24 hours since the trees are drying out. The ash used to get extra water from neighbors lawn, but last year they yanked out grass and put down rock and got rid of the water.
The three loads of laundry , one out on the retractible clothes line with fast dry in heat and sun which also kills germs.
Some cleaning in kitchen, bag of stuff for Goodwill, on to desk with piles of new paper and receipts this week and then I can clear out the fridge of old stuff. such excitement. and it is not even noon.

Linda, Iggy is having ongoing GI issues: gas, bloating, pain. The stuff that removing the gall bladder was supposed to solve. I sure wouldn't want rock instead of grass. I know the grass requires water but it sure is cooler than rock. Micki’s little tootsies wouldn’t like rock either. I hope the ash tree survives its trimming by the wind. Our ash tree is constantly being trimmed by wind, rain, ice snow.

Good Afternoon Chicks and thanks for the start Karen.
Just wanted to stop in and see how everyone is doing. Today has not been too bad thank heavens but tomorrow is a really full day with an 8:am meeting then back to backs along with the ultrasound and a visit to the doctor about the ankle.
Karen - how are the allergies and the cranky hip doing this afternoon? I actually had to take an allergy pill today which surprised me a bit. Spent some time this morning catching up on emails and trying to get some things off my desk. The ankle is doing pretty good but the other joints are not happy campers. We had showers this morning and then off and on today. The sun was out a while ago but it seems to be clouding up again. I ended up ordering the Fitbit Alta HR yesterday from Amazon. I just don't want all the bells and whistles of the newer models. Zoe's surgery will be this Friday so we will be preparing for that. I hope all goes well with the new homes for your plants for the fair!
Chele - how is Iggy feeling this afternoon? I'm sorry to hear he is under the weather like this. Hopefully the PCP will be able to determine what's going on and give him something that will help what is ailing him. I do know it's no fun when you're feeling poorly but still slugging it out at work. Your mentioning your glaucoma tests reminded me I need to get to the eye doctor for a checkup and most likely new glasses.
Kathy - that weather depression in the gulf looked like it might get large. I hope you and Becky don't have to deal with any repercussions from it. I can't imagine living in southern Cali. right now. It may indeed be beautiful but I have no desire to experience earth quakes up close and personal. It's sad that they won't spend any dollars to help with the bear issues and populations. Although we go through that with just general infrastructure work also. How are you doing today?
Linda - you've been battling some interesting health issues that surely wouldn't have kept your diet as the priority. I have every faith in you that you will find a way to get on track as you feel better and DH can eat things he can taste. The steak and sides sounded divine! Nice job on getting that branch taken care of so quickly.
Becky - thank goodness that Scooter isn't spooked by fireworks. We had the TV up loud to help cover the noise from Zoe who does react. Wally is like Scooter and doesn't much react after he hears the initial noise. I'm happy to hear that you were able to do the bike and not have it bother you as much. The physical therapist has always advocated for doing the exercises/walking but not to push once pain is felt. There's working pain and ouch pain; no ouch pain!
Okay dear ladies, I am off to finish up some paperwork and signing some invoices. Have a safe and good evening! Ciao fo now~

Thanks for the start Karen. So far they haven't named the storm although I heard it will be Mary if it forms. We could certainly use some rain.Even though it's been humid it's still hot and dry.Actually the VS 4 notices if you haven't been active for an hour and will vibrate so you get in some steps. It's not usually that many but every few help.It does stay dark unless you either tilt your hand where it comes on or double tap it to see. Then you can swipe it up or down to see your stats.I finally synced mine to MFP today. If you tap it one time you can time your exercise if you are doing formal exercise to start the timer or set it to recognize a certain amount of minutes. When I walk it vibrates every 10 minutes and will also give me what it calls laps.I notice it's usually around 20 minutes. The times I fall asleep and wake up seem very accurate. As far as how accurate the different stages are I'm not sure.
Chele Does Iggy feel too bad to visit his family?I wish he could get in sooner to find out what is wrong.I wonder is he could have IBS?
Liz I'm glad today isn't super crazy. The thing that seems to scare Scooter the most is the sound from Kenneth's weed eater especially if she is out in the yard.He doesn't even need to be working in the yard. She just wants inside with me so when I return from my walks she comes inside with me.
Waves to all.

Liz, good to see you in a Monday. I am glad it is relatively calm for you today. Looks like the allergies have it today. This is going to be the best day of the week, meteorologically speaking, mid80s, low humidity, sunshine. Good luck at the doc’s tomorrow. Also good luck with Zoe’s tail on Friday.
Becky, it is possible he has IBS. I hope that is all. With his heart disease we don’t want to take any chances until we figure out what is going on, so he cancelled his flights. I hope you get some rain but not a big storm.
Karen, I forgot to mention we had 4 ripe little yellow cherry tomatoes yesterday. They barely made it into the house. Gone, baby, gone.

Iggy sounds like me for four weeks after antibiotics...any meds last month? All I could do was take probiotics, eat yogurt and drink kefir while knocking off the sugar.

Chele If Iggy does have IBS(either the constipation or diarrhea)it can be controlled for the most part with medicine and/or eliminating foods for a period of time until the culprit is found and slowly added back in the other foods. You can google FODMAP lists.
I can't believe it and they are only 3 years late and at least $3 short but WW sent me my goal charm in the mail today.First I never knew of an online only member getting anything like this before.Second if free e-tools would come with this(which it doesn't)I would stick with it forever. It was a nice gesture though.
