Worked on photographs at the museum this morning. Some were early rock bands who started here in Tempe when it was full of great music venues near ASU. Two were Gin Blossoms and Meat Puppets back in 1990. Trying a recipe for a British summer pudding...not the steamed kind, the fruit with bread kind. Blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries cooked til soft with bit of water and sugar, then layered with bread cut in rounds to fit in one cup containers. Chill for six hours with plastic wrap and a weight like a can on each, and unmold...but I just put them into clear, pretty bowls.
Tree crew comes tomorrow around seven...will be glad to have that done before a storm. it really looked like it this morning and the high heat tends to produce them...111 today already 105 just after noon.

Karen, thanks for the start. The storm of the day is here. I was going to go out and get the mail when it thundered so loud it shook the front door! Okay, I get the message. This looks like some of the weather circulating from Barry. I'm glad it's going in the other direction, but it sounds bad for LA to get that much rain. They were showing that the French Quarter flooded after a couple of hours of heavy rain today.
Linda, thanks for the recall info. Your museum work sounds interesting. That pudding sounds great.
Waving to all. Enjoy your evening.

Linda, I wonder how many people ingested the pieces of plastic in their dog and burger buns last week. We know how late these recalls usually come out. It's a Flowers bakery product and I shop at a Flowers bakery outlet every couple of weeks. I'm glad I didn't buy any buns last week. That sounds like my kind of pudding. What will you have with it? Had you heard of any of the rock bands you categorized the photos of? Good luck with tomorrow's tree removal.
The French Quarter looked pretty bad, Kathy. I guess you didn't need the mail that badly. Scary on that clap of thunder. DSIL said they are supposed to get 2-5 inches where they are and she said they should be OK because they aren't in a flood zone. I told her I heard the mayor of Baton Rouge being interviewed on the Weather Channel and she got flooded in the last storm they had and she doesn't live in a flood plane either. They seem to be in an area that is somewhat sheltered despite being really close to the coast. Fingers crossed for them. So far they are loving Alabama.
Chele, how's Iggy today? And, how are you doing with your allergies?
Are they saying any more about your chances of rain from the storm, Becky? I wonder if it will go north of you and then head east and we'll get the remnants here. It would probably be Tuesday or Wednesday next week and that would be ok. We may get a little rain over night and tomorrow afternoon/evening. Hope so because I'm tired of all the watering I have to do to keep everything alive.
Liz, how did yesterday's ultrasound and bandage change go? Is there anything special you need to do in advance of Zoe's surgery? Do I remember that Gary is taking her in on Thursday and the surgery is Friday? Will she have to stay Friday night? I wonder how Wally will react to having mom and dad all to himself.
I opted for indoor exercise today and did 10 minutes on the treadmill without any problems, followed by 22 minutes on the rowing machine. I did a little greenhouse policy committee work and picked up the CSA order.Traffic was a mess with lots of out-of-staters, so I went the winding back way to come home. I got some nice green beans, potatoes, tomatoes, and some zucchini that will become lemon zucchini bread. One of the tomatoes has to weigh 2 pounds. It will make quite a few sandwiches. I'm going to miss all this fresh produce in a couple of months. I will be planting the fall garden next week, however.

Linda, I have heard of the Meat Puppets. Good luck with the tree tomorrow.
Becky, too bad you didn’t get any rain but good that there are no floods.
Liz, I hope all is well with you.
Kathy, I saw that DC had some flooding yesterday. I don’t remember ever seeing the city flood before.
Karen, the veggies sound great.
I made ground pork quesadillas for Iggy with sliced tomatoes and avocado. He is doing better. He felt great after mowing the backyard yesterday. The white tea he is drinking now doesn’t seem to upset his stomach. He is not snacking and is eating very light with nothing spicy. I woke up congested and with a headache but I watered the plants in the morning and did a little light housework. At 10:30 am I stopped trying to fight off the migraine and just took a sumatriptan and laid down for a couple of hours. I hate taking that stuff because it makes me so sluggish even after a nap, but the pain is gone so I shouldn’t complain. I am about to retire early since Iggy is going to do some things on the laptop.
