WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Our big rooster was making noise last night, like he was agitated and upset. I went back to see what was going on, and we realized we’re also missing our younger rooster and two older hens. They will stay in their enclosure until we’re home and outside from now on. Fortunately, we covered the top with netting when we built it; I was talking to a friend who lives a couple of miles from us. They’ve lost two roosters and eight young chickens too. She thought it was raccoons or a fox, but caught sight of a very large bird, possibly a young eagle. They will swoop down and scoop chickens. DH did get a raccoon in the trap last night.
Kathy, I know all too well how it feels to be hot, sticky, and squeezed into clothes that don’t fit right. I’m sorry.
Lori, how creative, making a bacon cheeseburger with a mushroom! I may have to start eating bacon, lol. When a raccoon gets a chicken, they eat it all so all that remains are feathers. Even seeing the feathers breaks my heart.

Nancy, let’s hope you can finally clear this last hurdle with the fingerprints. BTW, Alex is interested in going to Northern Michigan University for a medicinal plant chemistry degree, lol. I’m not sure he’ll get in, as his grades aren’t great, and I really don’t think he wants to study that much science. As far as I can tell, it’s the only school to offer a four year degree in it. Lots of places offer a certificate. The kids refer to it as “weed school”. You had another good day.
Louise, love seeing your stats.

This is my third start of this message
Wednesdays Stats: SP 26 AP 3- 45 minutes walking the doggie Water 36 oz - with probably a few more when I took medication without using my water mug. Oh! I have to tell you all about the mug.
WW has the following message up: "The Weight Watchers Community site is no longer available. Please go here to learn more about the changes!"
That leads you to a page that shows Connect on a Smart Phone. Although I've not used their community it still makes me angry that they assume everyone has one. I'm going to use "Chat with a Coach" to ask the question.
I just got a page that lists the prices for my area at $49.95 per month to $74.95 per month. If that's all that's available I may just have gotten kicked out of WW. At this point I have about a month left on my free eTools that I had left after getting it when I was at or under goal. Hmm
Going to have lunch. I will continue later.

I have to say the mushroom bacon cheeseburger (under 200 calories) was absolutely delicious! I had it on two slices of 647 toasted Italian bread. It may become a regular and it will definitely be added to my Meal Ideas File!!! Today I plan on eating light since it’s going to be a long day and not sure if food will be involved tonight. DH and I are picking up DS & GF at 11 pm from LGA airport (about 1 ½ ride +traffic). Uncertain if DH wants to leave early and have a late dinner near the airport or if DS &GF will be starving when they get off the plane and want to stop to eat. I’ll be as prepared as possible. This morning I had 2 hard boiled egg whites with tomato slices, lunch was a garden salad with 2 oz chicken (dressing was red wine vinegar+yellow mustard & garlic powder) and I’m thinking of fruit, yogurt and roasted veggies with 2oz chicken to hold me over until we figure out what the heck were doing…. Lunch tomorrow will be a little bit of challenge, going to a Hot Dog place they only serves hot dogs deep fried in peanut oil and fries. I can pass up the hot dog but the fries are to die for so I will have an order of fries (either bring my HN hot dog or eat a late breakfast). I'll just do my best...
Nancy, I like that snack idea - oyster crackers w/pb. That would be perfect at my desk (I also have the pb powder in my draw). Jan, I wish I would have thought of the mushroom bacon cheeseburger sooner - didn't even miss the meat and I actually enjoyed it on the toast - seemed bigger...lol Louise, I'm pretty sure if you want to continue with WW just digital it's about 19.95 a month - then when your back to Goal, you would pay $15 at a meeting and get your Free Etools voucher. The 44.95 included meetings..

C40. D1. I'm not even sure if I should try doing cycles. No exercise. Two meals on the road today, including a plated dinner I don't choose.
I'm being mindful.
Jan - we lose chickens to Hawks and eagles as well.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Kathy

Jan - Many years ago our miniature dachshund got a hold of my son's cockatiel. I heard the commotion, went upstairs, saw it in her mouth and called a gal at our store who came right over. She went upstairs and our master bedroom was totally covered with feathers. She took a trash can liner and went back upstairs. When she got there, all the feathers were gone and all she could find was one eye. To this day we don't know how this happened. The cockatiel always lived on top of her cage. Our only guess is that she must have somehow been sick or hurt and fell down so Hot Dog could get her. How she managed to consume all of those feathers without getting sick remains a mystery. Imagine having to tell Michael what happened to his bird. What an experience!! Weed School LOL. Love it! It's going to be a thriving business. The dispensaries around here are expanding like crazy, quadrupling in size.
Louise - Where are you seeing that message? On my computer I went to "my day" and then to weightwatchers.com and didn't see any such message.
Lori - Lifers will start paying for meetings?
Kathy - What do you mean "try doing cycles?"

Louise, the WW community site has been shut down for a couple years; that’s why we’re on this site now. We used to be a group on the WW community site.
Lori, have so much fun with your son and his GF!
Kathy, what if you stopped counting cycles for awhile and switched to the red, yellow, green method? That way it’s not all or nothing. Lori was very successful with that for a long time.
Nancy, how sad for your poor cockatiel, and stressful for you. I was back with the chickens a few minutes ago. I had let them out of their pen for the evening. The battery died in Roscoe’s collar for his invisible fence, and he got into the pen when I wasn’t looking. Gave a few chickens a run for their money. He’s on timeout in the house now.
There are several chickens with many feathers missing, and one is missing most of her tail feathers. They must be the survivors.
