Here are the last four of the 8 Summer Steps for Healthy Living www.webmd.com/women/features/8-summer-steps-for-healthy-living#15. Be Good to Your Eyes When outdoors, wear sunglasses that block at least 99% of ultraviolet A and B rays. And when playing sports or doing tasks such as mowing the lawn, wear protective eyewear. 6. Vacation Time! Vacations have multiple benefits: They can help lower your blood pressure, heart rate, and stress hormones such as cortisol, which contributes to a widening waist and an increased risk of heart disease. 7. Alcohol: Go Lite Summer's a great time to skip drinks with hard alcohol and choose a light, chilled alcoholic beverage (unless you are pregnant or should not drink for health or other reasons). 8. Sleep Well Resist the urge to stay up later during long summer days. Instead pay attention to good sleep hygiene by keeping the same bedtime and wake-up schedule and not drinking alcohol within three hours of bedtime. It's also a good idea to avoid naps during the day unless you take them every day at the same time, for the same amount of time. Comments or thoughts? Some that you already do? Some that you might want to do better?

5. Be Good to Your Eyes I wear sunglasses when out but don't know if they have UV protection or not...hmm
6. Vacation Time! I am not sure if I am in perpetual vacation or have not had one for over five years. I would love to see family in the USA and really have not been away from home in half a decade or more so???
7. Alcohol: Go Lite Interesting...do like a spritzer from time to time...might get some diet soda or sparkling water for next Wednesday at my house and make a LOT of ice. I also saw tea and coffee punch recipes...wonder how they would go over with my friends.
8. Sleep Well I had not heard the "don't drink alcohol within 3 hours of going to bed" idea...might be worth trying. I know I sleep better when I am alcohol free or don't over imbibe. As for going to sleep early...two nights at 2am means I am tired today.

I always wear sunglasses when out & about in the sun. They are cheap ones & probably not the protection that is needed.
Since I no longer work, I feel like I am on a permanent vacation. I pretty much just do whatever I want to on most days. I do still enjoy a bit of traveling.
Alcohol has never been an issue for me. I do enjoy an occasional glass of wine, or even a cocktail on a special night out, but ever so limited.
I never sleep well, this has been a lifelong problem for me & will always be. I have always said that my sleeping habits & my weight are the two factors that have had more bearing on my well-being than anything else in my life.

I don't wear sunglasses outside as much as I should. I do when I am driving most of the time, unless it is cloudy. I am also on a permanent vacation and sometimes go to visit kids. I am limited on how much I can drink because of meds. I don't drink more than two drinks a week, usually wine. Sometimes on special occasions I cheat and have 3, and sometimes I will go for a couple weeks or so without any. I also have a hard time sleeping at times. I usually manage to get in about 6 or 7 hours, but sometimes I just can't go to sleep.

5 - sunglasses. I need to get some good quality sunglasses. A reminder of something important that I put off for absolutely no reason!
6 - vacation. DH & I are the day trip/"staycation" kind of people because of the dogs. (a choice we make). Not sure that will change once we both retire (a couple of years or so).
7 - because of meds, DH can't have alcohol, so I don't either. I couldn't quite figure out if this hint was aiming to encourage less consumption overall and suggesting summer was a good time to try?
8 - I sleep well, but don't allow enough time in the day to sleep enough! Summer is worse because it stays light out longer...hard to think of sleep when it's still daylight, or the sun has just set a bit ago. In the winter, 7 hours is easy, during summer, too often around 5 to 6. Depending on how many days in a row of being short of sleep, I might be able to fit in a nap, but...it's not at the same time or length.

My glasses transition to dark. I wear them all the time. I’m not sure of the protection level.
Alcohol gives dh migraines, so I join him in sticking to water.
Dh and I schedule periodic getaways as well as a family vacation to FL every 2 years which includes WDW.
As for sleep. I’m working on regularizing sleep hours. I do know getting enough sleep is critical for my health.
