Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Nice weather to start the week. We’ll see some rain from Barry on Wednesday but the rest of the week looks nice.
They are starting to film A Quiet Place 2 today in a neighboring community. Their Main St will be closed for the next 10 days, but people will be able to shop at the stores using the back entrances. They’ve changed the store fronts, and have actually taken over one of the stores for the film. Everyone is excited, even the store owners.
Heading out for my walk in a bit. Today I don’t start work until 3, planning on making muffins for breakfast the rest of the week. They are having a food day at work on Wednesday. I’m not sure what the theme is, but I’ll probably just take my own lunch and not worry about what everyone is bringing. My contribution will be a fruit salad, something I can enjoy. I’m focused on following my eating plan and since that’s something I can control, I will.
Nothing much else going on. I’ll text my DSIL later to see how my DB is doing. I’ll call him later this week, but if he’s still in pain I don’t want to bother him.
Enjoy your day

Good morning. It’s already 79 outside here and the humidity is already in the 70’s also, so very oppressive outside. Want to walk, but not sure if it would be good for Mara or Maggie. We are under a heat advisory until midnight tonight, and the chance of storms this afternoon and evening. Weather map last night looked like we were just south of the storms, but all of a sudden the wind came up and heavy rain started hitting the house. Didn’t last long, but was loud!!!
The contractor comes today for us to sign the contract, give them the first half of the charges, and get a copy of their timeline. Will be nice to know for sure when they are starting. But there is still so much to get out of the closet. Clothes I can’t wear right now and then get a rack in our bedroom to hold those we will be wearing. I want to go thru the stuff stored on the upper shelf also. And I’ve discovered there is an amazing amount of dust up there.
Need to do more meal planning and plan in my snacks too. Evening snacking is still my biggest issue. That and getting enough water during the day. Harder when we have Mara. I drink lots of decaf coffee on days/evenings when we don’t have her, and not so much when we do.
Joy, you do so well with planning ahead for those things at work. You have goals and are doing everything right to reach them. I think we might run to Menards and look at bathroom lights. We are to buy what we want them to install. The contractor says he gets a builder discount at several places, so we will look around and find what we like and then purchase it with the discount. Also want to pick up new cabinet hardware (handles) for the bathroom. Right now every one of them in the entire house (all 3 floors) are alike (brass), and I want them to be different now in areas that don’t show into the main areas. Those will get changed also, but not sure what I want in the kitchen/dining/living right now.
Ok, I need to get moving. Dressed, bed made, dishwasher running, onward and upward!!!

UPDATE: They will start demolition and re-constructing the bathroom next Wednesday. A week and 2 days from now. I canceled both PT sessions this week so I can work in the closet. It takes over 2 hrs from the time I leave home until I am back to go to PT, and that’s too long to leave DH with Mara for more than 1 day a week. Plus I wanted to get some of the closet stuff done. I need to clean off one of the clothing racks currently holding kids clothing so I can bring it up to our bedroom for the clothes we will wear during construction. Everything is to be finished by Aug 9. That’s one week before we head to Indy to see DS Carol and her family.
We were w/o electricity tonight for 3+ hours. Started about 6 pm right after we had finished dinner and cleaning up. Mara was happy most of the time. Last summer we were w/o power one night we had her too. No fun!
Ok, off to bed. More tomorrow!
