I am the first to admit that exercise/fitness is a struggle for me. So, seeing the heading of 5 elements of fitness makes it seem like an even bigger reach. But, I do understand that all of these components are important, and it's a good reference I'm going to aspire to! mayoclinichealthsystem.org/hometown-health/speaking-of-health/the-5-elements-of-fitnessTry to include each of the following in your weekly routine: Aerobic conditioning. Strength training. Flexibility activities. Consistency. Safety. Then: add Posture. Balance. Do you incorporate a mix? Any items to consider adding?

I'm focusing on stretching for my 7 in 7 goal for this round. I admit that it's the only one of all of those that I'm doing (like I've said, I tell myself being on my feet and the lifting I do at work is "good enough".)
I thought the mention of safety was interesting - paying attention to form and not overdoing at the start.
I think the stretching could also expand to include posture and balance for me. While the active part of my job is a good thing, the repetitive tasks, leaning over counters, etc is not so good. And I know balance can start to be an issue with aging.

Not really doing any exercise right now...this all makes sense and I should do all of them...maybe someday.

I am trying hard to include a few minutes of exercise into my nightly routine. I can feel myself gaining stamina. I will think about incorporating some of these things, safety is very important, as we sure don't want to hurt ourselves.

I started doing some exercise recently, but when my kids came and we started cleaning the basement it went by the wayside. I'm going to start again when they leave at the end of the week. I also ordered an elliptical machine that will be here on Friday. I will be mixing my types of exercises.

I love my Curves because the circuit includes several of the catagories. I am focusing on balance during mr time off the machine. This is really important to me. I like getting in for workouts 3 times a week but will still smile if I can make it 2 times.

During the winter, I was going to the gym and using the weight machines for an hour or so- 2-3 times a week.. Now, during the summer months, I think that I get enough variety in weeding, and other garden work in addition to my usual walking.
One of my goals with balance was to be able to stand on 1 leg (without having to hold onto the counter) when putting on pants. Most days, I do pretty well, occasionally have to hold onto something.
