WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor! You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

24 points 1870 calories 23 APs
Good morning! A bike ride it is, this morning.
Nancy, another good day for you. Are you still waiting to total your points until the end of the day? A DOR? Hahahahahahaha! Black Friday is the last day I didnโt exercise, and that was only because I was up and out the door early to go to Buffalo. I am learning to practice what I preach and listen to my body, though. As addictions go, exercise is one of the better ones to have. Obviously, I donโt do anything when Iโm sick. Itโs been years since Iโve been sick, though >>>knock on wood<<<

I'm not sure I mentioned that my piano teacher's DMIL developed state 4 cancer and so she put off teaching for a while to take care of her. She did die which is a mixed blessing but now my teacher's got to sell the house and her own since she's moving but not too far away. Anyway it's all keeping her very busy. I never stopped practicing and today I'm having the first lesson in a while. Therefore no table tennis and none Thursday since our room will be occupied with a safe driving course. I will have my line dancing classes today and tomorrow though.
Jan - Sometimes I'll count near the end of the day and make decisions accordingly but I'm less obsessive about hitting 19 points and 1200 calories on the nose. You make a good point about addiction to exercise being one of the better ones. I do think we all have addictive tendencies or we wouldn't be here.

Last night I enjoyed cinnamon toast (647 toast, brumble&Brown, cinn&sprinkle of stevia baking blend) for my snack (wanted a crunchy snack). Louise I though of you, tasted just like Pepperidge farm cinn bread but my version = 3 points for 2 slices!! It was a nice change...
Nancy, enjoy your piano lesson, I bet your teacher will be very impressed with your practicing!! Jan, sorry about the feet - sounds very painful...but it's great that you have an alternative exercise that you enjoy when your feet are acting up... Funny about the DOR... Kathy, hope you had a strong day yesterday!!

Monday's Stats: SP 29
WP 30 remaining AP 3 - 45 minutes Walking the Dog
Dinner: It was not what I'd hoped for. DM's meat was initially too rare so I put it back on and then it was too well done. They were so small (circular with about a 2 inch diameter) I decided to with the whole serving and I kept the size at 5 oz. I should have picked it up and weighed it.
When I weighed the fries in the bag it came out to about 8 oz so I expected about two 3 oz portions. When I weighed the actual cooked portions it was about 1.7 or so. The tracker showed only the number of pieces in a serving and had no other measuring items available. When people create an item they should put in oz, pound, tbsp, etc.

Lori - Kudos on the increasing step count. A question: My cinnamon toast comes to 3 points for one slice. Can you please tell me where we differ. Here are my ingredients: 1 slice 647 wheat bread, 3/4 T B&B softened, 7/8 T brown sugar blend, some ground cinnamon, 1/8 tsp vanilla. Thanks
Louise - I weigh my filet mignon after cooking but I weigh the 3 oz fries before cooking and go by the points and calories on the package. It's annoying, isn't it, when you decide to splurge a bit and end up disappointed with the meal. Times like that often lead me to a binge so good for you remaining in control.

C40. D3. OP. Exercising. Am almost through 3rs day... Having shrimp kabobs for dinner with a salad and watermelon.
My foot still hurts and I've been icing it, but still walking 4 miles today.
I was so hungry when I got home from my walk that I made two pieces of sourdough bread toast with farmstead cheddar cheese. It was so good and satisfying. Hence the light dinner tonight.
I'll be back in the morning. I've arranged for someone else to lead a meeting I'm in tomorrow so that I can join by phone while walking!! Such an easy fix (instead of me leading it) to get in exercise tomorrow.
