I feel like Facebook is swimming in old people - so why does everyone always say Connect is just geared toward younger people? I don't use either one but every grandpa I know is active on Facebook.

At first, I didn't like Connect. Now I do and I'm on it every day. I totally avoid Trending. I read only Following, with my select number of regulars that are doing the WW program. We support one another. No whiners or excuse makers. Sometimes I check out New. I scroll past food pics, boobs, butts, and belly pics, and TMI stories. Message boards: only 3 regularly. 2 are maintenance and the third is a vocabulary game.

I really like connect! If you #over 60 you will find many older weight watchers... most are successful and up beat.. They certainly make me feel " your never too old"! I also enjoy reading the posts here.🙂

I don't use it. I find it easier to follow and participate in discussions on these boards.
Then again - I hate typing on my tiny phone, I don't use the WW website or app except for logging my weight each week, and I don't use fb or other social media besides these boards.

I look at it occasionally and post rarely.
To me it seems like WW instagram more than Facebook, with lots of food pics, kids, pets, and selfies. I don't mind the pictures with the underwear, before/after, etc. but I find some of the trending topics too depressing. I've seen people post about recent deaths and suicides and it just doesn't seem like the right place. I also don't think it's geared just toward younger people.
Since I track on the app, it's easy enough to look at it for a few minutes now and again.

agreed with WC that FB is not the younger generation. FB got commandeered by all the grandparents.

I tried to like Connect but there was no sense of community there for me. I much prefer Proboards but my group prefers FB so we are there. I myself hate following FB threads, it is so much easier to follow here. I'm kind of a lone oldster. love my FB peeps but I miss a lot of stuff. Connect is just way too hard to ever find anything again, I disliked it immensely and I really did give it a good try, every night for 3 months.

agreed with WC that FB is not the younger generation. FB got commandeered by all the grandparents. LOL My son bought my mom an iPad for Christmas, and now she LIVES on FB! My sister said Mom keeps sending her videos she finds on there. The WW leader tried to get everyone to sign up with this FB group for all of the meeting locations in our area. Many of the members said they aren't on it.

I've been on it, but not regularly. I enjoy the success stories; makes me feel like my story isn't so hopeless.
I'm generally pretty tech savvy but I haven't gotten the hang of finding "groups" - do you just follow everyone who posts a particular hashtag?

I do fb only on occasion and limit myself. I try to "not go on there on purpose", as you can get lost in a time zone and be on there for hours and not even know it. I get frustrated telling myself that I totally wasted my time when I should have been doing something more productive. Going for a walk, playing with the dogs, doing housework, planning dinner, exercising, etc.
I figure that I don't even have my own shit together, why do I want to read about everyone else's shit? LOL
