At my meeting this morning the leader asked how many used Connections. In a group of about 36 only one person raised her hand. Do a lot of you use it?

Hi,
No, I think I have looked at it twice, to be honest I was not impressed either time. Maybe if that was all I knew I might try harder to get use to it. But since I know about these boards I don't try. Also connect is what I use for my Fitbit.
Sorry Eleanor

CONNECT on a web-based device (not the app on a phone) is clumsy and limited.
I can only click "like" and I can follow someone.
I cannot search for someone or initiate a post.
So it becomes an exercise in futility.
Every once in a while I will go wallow in "toes on scales" just to see if there has been any improvement.
Not yet.

I got on it once, could not figure it out. I was told "it's just like Facebook". I'm not on facebook so that didn't help me.
I use these boards daily. That's where I get most of my support. Will probably never try Connect again

I've never been impressed. I appreciate these boards and the territorial manager for CO and WYhas a closed fb site that let's us connect and share local tips and ask and answer questions.

It is sort of like Facebook, but clumsy. I follow a few people. But the main pages are filled with a lot of clutter, divorce, cancer, death in addition to weight loss and some photos that i think are inappropriate. It definitely targets the younger generation

I don't use Connect at all. I only use the WWer website for tracking these days and I don't use the app at all.

I have used it just a few times since it as introduced. I really HATE it!
It is a typical WW attempt to recreate something that’s successful (Facebook) in their paid-members-only environment, and doing a half-assed job of it.
Many who are here spent many years on the WW community message boards which were open to both paying members and the public. It as a community. And WW decided to kill it when they launched Connect. That’s how we all ended up over here, and this is a much better environment because WW plays no role here and cannot censor nor scold posters because they say things WW doesn’t like.
As for Connect, whomever decided that a tool which blows photos up to fit the full width of whatever device is being used as a viewer should be shot. Coupled with WW’s lack of censorship about what photos are appropriate to post, every time I’ve looked at Connect my eyes have been assailed with things that CANNOT be unseen. Think people before and during their weight loss journey (i.e., not trim and not fit) in underwear filling your entire computer or iPad screen!
I looked at Connect last week and saw a post I wanted to comment on. I decided to make my comment on the iPad. hen I ran the app on the iPad, that post had gotten buried so far down on the tmeline in just a few minutes that it took me about 10 minutes to find it. That kind of design flaw makes it a very difficult-to-impossible tool to use.
Those are just a couple of the flaws that turned me off of Connect.
Oh—and in my meeting, when the leader asked, NOBODY uses Connect.

Agree with all the observations. I don't like looking at my own fat, let alone someone else's!

I use it daily and like it; I didn't expect to, but had committed to helping a thread move there. It's really easy to stay with like-minded people if you choose. No question that it is helping WW's find it's door to younger people, there are sometimes thousands of responses, that is not my thing, but definitely the *way of the world*.

Have looked at it a couple times, don't find any value to it for me. Do not think it provides much to anyone except those who are of the mind to see pictures of themselves and others on their journey. Definitely a pitch for the younger social media generation but I guess each to their own.

I keep forgetting about it! (sorry ksbruns) I follow a small group but am not very dedicated! I've posted some food pics and got an overwhelming response when I posted a before/after picture. I am not a fan of typing on my phone and prefer a keyboard. Since the 'youngsters' are so good with finger typing am sure that's part of its appeal.
