WORK IT WEDNESDAY... well I have to WORK it harder than I ended up doing yesterday! WOW! WHAT A DAY! Still "worth it" to not work Monday - but I was NOT ready for what I walked in to yesterday! Some of Debbie's work was NOT done... apparently she never trained Deb on that piece of it?! WOW! My supervisor "never thought" to check on what Deb did or didn't know... so WE... (THE BANK)... are out of compliance! I.Love.It.!
Yes it made the day rougher on ME yesterday - but I was smiling inside knowing that IF this comes back to bite us - I am in the clear! I just find it "interesting" that Crystal.Didn't.Think.! Oh well...
So today will be another rough one - but not as bad as yesterday... I will be taking some of MY work in to Crystal today - I just can't DO IT ALL, and I am done trying!
Meanwhile - my eating was good... kinda did the intermittent "fasting" without even thinking about it! LOL Ended up not eating my breakfast or snacks, just dive right in to lunch at almost noon! So that was probably like 18 hours with no eating! I also came up short on my Take Two... my water did NOT go as planned - neither did my journaling! Maybe today - will be a better day for that!?
I did get home and make a decent dinner, not too "unfriendly", but Matt, Patti & Zoë came up to swim so it was good I had made extra... but we didn't eat until LATE (for me)... good news is, I did get in the pool for a bit!
OK Let me refill my coffee and get caught up...

Lisa: Glad you all came to a decision about the janitor position, let's hope the 1st choice will take the job! Yes... laundry and dishes are never my favorite ways to spend the day, but, has to be done! We "may" get rain today I guess, but mostly we are hearing about the HOT-HOT- HOT weather coming to the Northeast this week... WICKED HOT Friday - Monday... warnings out (?) and all...
Hope you figured out what to wear - and you got your printing all figured out. I always have that issue of what to wear... it is so COLD in the office, but hot when I leave the building!
Sue: So much fun!! Saw the pics of the rafting - looked fun. I was surprised at no life jackets! Around here, if you go rafting with any of companies - lie jackets and helmets are "required"!
Well I think the best part of the S'mores IS the chocolate anyway!! I am not a melted marshmallow fan - glad he didn't complain though. When are the birthday pie things??
Shelly: Oh No... 2 months of invoices?? Uh Oh... so you had to help DH out with his flat tire?? Ahhh... OK... good to know you are proactive about the sugar issue... and that I hadn't forgotten such a thing! Yikes - thought I was really losing it! YAY for not being as tired... maybe today will be even better? WOO HOO For making the effort to track and be more mindful... it will all come into focus at some point - we gotta BELIEVE - right?? ♥

WORK IT WEDNESDAY.... What can I do to work it? Let's see... 1.) I CAN drink more water... already had my first 22 oz this morning before coffee. Will refill and take to work with me! 2.) I CAN plan to come home and get in the pool - after I get dinner started... if Tracy is home - she may do the Salsa Chicken burrito in the IP, but I forget her schedule! I may have Eden - if they could get the group of friends to head to the ballgame tonight - without a 5 year old along! LOL 3.) I WILL take time to make a salad (again) - since I didn't get it done last night... everything is chopped and ready - but I didn't make the time to get my jars filled! Preferred to spend the time with the kids ♥
So there is my water - my exercise and my eating "right"... now to track it and get myself back in the game!!
Hope you all have a great day - AND can find a way or two to WORK IT... be careful in the weather - whether you are in the hot - hot - hot, or the rains coming... just stay safe
♥hugs♥

Good morning! Needing to get around because there is a staff meeting at work at 8:30 so I am on reception duty...sure don't miss those meetings though! Also need to talk to my prof about missing pubs.
Carole-sorry that your co-workers aren't keeping up with things, and yes you can't do it all! I hope today things get caught up a bit.
Shelly-saw your post from yesterday. I hope the flat got fixed and that you can get caught up on invoices--so easy for things to accumulate! My blood sugar tends to run high and they are watching that. I know that I need to lose weight and exercise more to help that number.
Sue-loving the pictures that you are sharing on FB. Looks like a good family time.
My plan for today is number one water because we are under a heat advisory. Greg has a 4:30 appt with foot and ankle dr even though I don't think there is much to say but he does have a bump higher up on his leg where they did some Achielle's tendon work.
I will check back later...not feeling my energy yet this morning!

Good morning!
I was able to read back to last Saturday--when I dropped off the planet! As I think you could tell from the pictures, we had a wonderful weekend. It was for DH's bday in March (his 60th) so we went to these races and stayed at a hotel in Monterey. We were about a mile from Cannery Row, but right in the little town of Monterey so we walked a lot for dinner and at the track (like 8 miles on Saturday). It was foggy and cool in the morning and that was a nice break from the hot, dry summer days here. Then I was part of a 4-person team training a group on Monday/Tuesday (sheesh, hit the work hard right at the beginning of the week!). I was pretty tired on Monday night, but better last night. Anyway, hopefully I am back to "normal" now and happy to be here with all of you...
Carole: I loved, loved the picture of Zoe, the floating birthday girl! Sounds like a fun time--everyone stayed until 9:00 pm??? Wow! You and Ken definitely have the party house. I can see though why you are ready to be done with the parties for a while! Yikes, out of compliance at the bank? I know that "compliance" is BIG in hospitals and banks especially. Yep, could be an eye-opener for the higher-ups. So glad to hear that the plantar fas. is feeling better! Yes, sounds like your movement is helping. I always love reading how you get your pool time in the summer--makes me wish that we had one (until I read about the equipment, cleaning it, etc. LOL). I have heard of rolling your foot on the frozen water bottle too--whatever works! Did you find the vaccine? I am going to hit the search hard again on Monday (taking the day off to use up my last year's vacation days). It seems very scarce around here. So, so glad to hear that Eden was good with the whole celebration on Sunday--that is HARD for a little one! I am sure that she got a lot of kudos for that--being the good cousin! Good job on your meal planning, activity, etc....very nice to read how good you are feeling! Yesterday's WW meeting (had to go after work as I was not here over the weekend) was about body image--what we miss in life by letting it rule us and how it affects our attitudes. A hard but good conversation. Hey, on the intermittent fasting, for about 5 weeks now I have been following an intermittent fasting schedule for at least 6 days/week. I fast for 16 hours though---usually 7:00 pm -11:00 am. I have found that I am MUCH better at assessing when I am hungry as a result. I do allow coffee though during my fast....I have also found that it has helped me cut back on artificial sweeteners too. I am liking it and don't feel "starving" at the end of the day like I thought I would. Interesting! Hope that you have a good day and STAY COOL!!

Christine: Wow, so glad that your shingles are working their way out of your system and that the meds seem to be working--especially with your eye situation. What a relief! So nice to read about your visit with Cheryl! I don't know what your state system is like, but we have something similar (alot of it is due to the SBAC focus). So nice the you have that tool in your belt now! As far as the Prince goes, it's a shame he didn't show you...and, if he hasn't used it, chances are that he's forgot a lot of it by now anyway. You can be the keeper of that information from now on. I am so glad to read of the year ahead and how things are looking up for you. Your patience and grace through all of it are paying off! Your "pre review" thing sounds like a teacher evaluation---pre-observation and then observation conferences. Interesting! Yikes, Linds is still at $9/hour? I can see why she is feeling the pain of that! It's hard when you are only home for the summer though--some places seem to take advantage of that. It sounds like she is getting some great skills for her resume though...nice! Hope that you are staying cool too---glad for an office with A/C!! Hope that you have a good day today my friend...are the K assessments done yet?
Sue: Loving your family photos--you will do something magical with all of those when you return I would think. Such great memories for all of you and, especially, the boys! Stay safe!
Lisa: Wow, August 10th is right around the corner, isn't it? Thanks for sharing about Greg's career---nice to have that perspective. You know, I am with so many others here in saying that we all know of people who have struggled with retirement (especially men) because (in their mind) so much of their "worth" was tied into work and what happened there. If it hadn't had been you who encouraged him to retire, if he had done it on his own, I'll bet that he would still find someone or something else to blame it on. So sorry for you though---OBVIOUSLY you helped him make a great decision and he hasn't been able to wrap his head around it. A good friend of mine actually read a book about how to retire before she retired! She openly talks about having other things, etc. You are so patient, sensible, and caring, I have to believe that he will move on at some point....I know that it must be trying. I was laughing about the suit...he really is not looking forward to that, huh? You are a saint helping him with that and all of the other wedding things you are doing. So sorry about DU and hope that the family feels peace from his passing....

Shelly: So glad that you had a good day the other day. I don't know, I think that you need to really track a day (not just food) to see how much sleep you are getting, how much time you are at work, etc. Your days seem awfully long to me and I can't help but think that it makes it hard to feel rested. I could be wrong, of course, but you sure seem to work alot of hours and I think that we lose track of time and forget that it gets harder as the years pass. So glad that you will talk to your doctor though. Hope that today is another good day for you! I am going in to wear a thing on my arm for a week before getting my blood test in August. My blood sugar has been around 98 and my endocrinologist is wanting to be sure that it is due to eating and not staying there all of the time. My maternal grandmother had severe diabetes from the time she was a little girl (type 1) so they watch it closely. I don't feel tired or anything though (I don't think I do, at least). Hope that you get some answers.
Okay, need to get this day going. So DS25 is on second interviews and got a job offer yesterday--his job search has gone so well! I think that he is good with the application and interviews--proud of him. He will start moving into their new place (an apartment in Sacramento) on Friday and his GF won't be out for about 10 days to see it in person -- she will be taking the Bar exam on that visit. Then, they will move her back out here in August. They got a lot of great kitchen items as part of Prime days so they are feeling good about the move. I will finally see it on Sunday--looking forward to helping him with the move. DS19 is signed up for classes but we are still looking for a place for him to live. He doesn't start until the end of Sept and places in OR seem to pop up daily and are ready to move in that day....so it's tricky to get it timed just right. I think we will get it done in the next month though. Can't imagine what it will be like to have NO kids in our house! I might get a dumpster and get rid of some things! Okay, see you all later...have a good day!

Evening all. Got a call from DS last night and he said his pickup caught on fire last night. Not sure all the details cause his service stinks. Ugh I hope insurance pays on it. He got it out before to much damage was done but never know what it might have damaged. I will have them file the claim tomorrow.
I got my glucose tester today and I took it about 1 1/2 hrs after eating a snow cone and it looked good. Was 98. I will see what my fasting reading is in the morning. I will try to monitor it periodically and if it stays good then I know I need to look elsewhere as to why I’m tired.
Well I didn’t get to finish my invoicing but should be able to tomorrow. Yes I don’t usually get that far behind but it has just gotten away from me. Apparently since I keep them at the store they aren’t to concerned with the fact I haven’t scanned them in to the computer and emailed to HQ. thank goodness they don’t seem upset with me.
Oh yes I do work a lot of hours. I am at work by 6 every morning and do not leave before 5 or 6 nearly every weekday. Weekends I am there at 6 on Saturday and 7 on Sundays. I usually leave between 2-4 in the afternoon. So I average 70+ hours a week. I do have every other Sunday off so that helps. Yes I do think that could be part of why I am exhausted when I get home but I can’t help but feel there is more to it. I do feel overly stressed at times as well and I know mental stress can run a person down too.
Ok once again it’s very late (almost 11) and I need to get to bed. Sorry I’m barely making it here and not really getting personals in but will try when I can. I hope to check in tomorrow
