Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Got up and looked outside. It rained a bit overnight, it was 72, humid and overcast. Since it wasn’t raining yet I decided to go for my walk and gotmy 1.5 miles in. It’s been drizzling, rain is expected soon. Whew! I was drenched anyway because of the humidity.
Ruth - we’re going to be near 90 Thu-Fri-Sat. We have our employee party Friday evening, supposed to be the hottest of the days. Sounds like you have a good idea how to keep Mara occupied during the construction. Hope the weather cooperates foroutside activities.
Dottie - great to hear from you. Glad you’re enjoying yourself. For some reason vacations and eating out of control go hand in hand for me.
I talked to my boss yesterday. I’m going part time starting Sept. 30. She was so worried that I was giving my notice. She gave me a contact for my health insurance transition to self pay, then Medicare and supplemental insurance. They will help me make sure all paperwork is in place. I told her I knew she was looking for an additional office worker so I wanted to get her enough notice so that she will have needed coverage in place. I was alone so long on Monday because young man decided to schedule his PT early. Did not give any advance notice, not professional at all. At least the Saturday I will have one of the other gals working with me from 10-3. Perfect.
Dottie - the pancakes are 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 2 eggs, cinnamon. I blend in Magic Bullet to get out the lumps, but I used to just stir in bowl. I like to squish raspberries or blueberries on top instead of syrup. I used to eat these a lot.
Going to grocery store to pick up fruit bowl for food day. We’re having a few dips and chips, pasta salad, tacos in a bag ... the fruit will make a nice dessert.

Good evening all. Can’t believe I’m just now getting on here. I haven’t gotten that much done, but it’s just been one of those days. I did get one load of laundry done, the dishwasher run, and made spaghetti for dinner. DD brought out Harper & Sawyer about 4 pm. They are now in bed, as is Mara, since Stan has to be on the road with them in the morning at 7:45 to meet DD at 8:15 to get them on to the camp they are at.
The landscapers are doing a great job. We had a flower bed under a tree that DH had built up about 10 years ago. I don’t think it’s been adequately cleaned out / weeded in all that time. And the maple tree in the center of it had branches hanging down and a bunch of volunteer maple trees had taken up residence also. They cut the low hanging branches, cleaned out the volunteer trees, and then weeded it. Tomorrow they are putting down mulch. Then we’ll talk about what plants we should add to it that would be easy to maintain. They also cut back the yews that had overgrown one of our retaining walls. And they cut another volunteer tree out of our dogwoods. They are doing so much. It will look great. Not cheap, but nice to have it done.
Those bins of stuff I got cleared off the shelves in the closet are still sitting in the bathroom. DH walks around them, but doesn’t seem to realize they need to be somewhere else!!! Or doesn’t care or whatever!! It just bugs me! What does he think I’m doing in there?
Mara will go home at dinnertime tomorrow. Then Friday I hope to get the bathroom cleaned out and our closet pretty much cleared out so that the cleaner can do some more work in there. And I have to get the rest of the house picked up so she can clean. This month is going by so fast!! I just hate that because it puts us that much closer to fall and winter again! And that is depressing!!!
Ok, need to go check on all 3 girls. Will be back tomorrow!!
