WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor! You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Post and run this morning.
Nancy, re: the cinnamon toast, it looks like youβre using almost a tablespoon of butter vs. a teaspoon for Lori, unless itβs a typo.

C99D12, 25 points, 1449 calories, 8 water
Just beginners line dancing - piano lesson and hot hot hot.
All day I was debating about a SF blueberry muffin in the fridge. Caved by about 9 PM but no guilt. I figure it's better to indulge than to feel deprived. I had it very mindfully with a cup of coffee. That explains the 5 extra points and 150 extra calories.
Lori - The difference is the sugar blend. You use a teaspoon, I use almost a tablespoon. I think I'd rather have the richer mixture on one slice of bread. Thanks for explaining the difference.
Kathy - Great idea to do the call while walking. Love, too, that you're ready to delegate a bit.
Jan - Not a typo <g>.

C40. D4. OP. Tracking. Exercising. Had an unplanned diet rootbeer float last night. It was so hot and humid and DH suggested floats. My brain was all in. I had points available and still got the blue dot.
Jan - it's raining here today and I was thinking 'I bet Jan would put on her rain jacket and go anyway.' I'm sitting here with my coffee...

Nancy - Yes! I delegated the meeting and then I delegated some of the work during the meeting!! I apologized for saying "can you please do this for me?" But my staff person took it on. You might be interested in this task, it was traveling to interview a Kosher meat processing plant out on the South Dakota border. But someone else can do that particular interview.
Lori - have fun with DSIL tonight. At many sit down restaurants I can find low point options.
Do any of you have an Instant Pot? I really like mine and am making yogurt in it. My meals so far are: Breakfast: Homemade Greek Yogurt, with my homemade 'raw' granola, grapes = 5 pts Lunch: My from scratch salmon croquettes (canned salmon/eggs/onion/dill/ wheatgerm), grilled asparagus, 1t olive oil for frying, cherries = 3pts Snack: 1% cottage cheese, 2 cappuccinos = 4pts Dinner: ? appox 10 points planned

Kathy - I have found that the more you delegate, the less you'll want to take on that function ever again. My guess is that the more you delegate, the more you'll delegate as you learn that others can be quite capable. It's good too for your underlings to take pride in your confidence in them and work extra hard to continue to please. The more you verbally catch them doing something right, the more you'll catch them doing something right. I'm excited for you. What ice cream did you use for the float? I have one every afternoon with either coffee or vanilla bean enlightened ice cream with 1/2 bottle Stewart's root beer or orange diet soda - (1/4 pt of the ice cream). I have it while watching Who Wants to be a Millionaire <g>.
