THINK IT THROUGH THURSDAY... Each CHOICE... Every DECISION... THINK IT THROUGH... Is it really - REALLY what you "want"? Is it what you NEED? Will it help or hinder your weight loss journey? DO you CARE? (Because some days I do not). Whatever you are "thinking" about eating - drinking - doing... THINK IT THROUGH!!
I need to THINK about my lunch bag, then DO IT... Nothing "extra" (just in case)because let's face it... IF I am hungry/snacky, and I don't have it with me - it will pass... the "wanting" will pass if all I have is water or tea!
THINKING... B: Protein Shake S: apple and string cheese L: Jar Salad - all ready to go! S: Almonds
Mixed in through out the day will also be water and tea - (shooting for a total of 84 oz at work)
D: Salsa chicken burrito OR salad (Beach Body recipe), wine
Activity: Swimming or exercising in the pool
So there you have my THOUGHT THROUGH THURSDAY!
Let me grab coffee and catch up! ♥

Crazy busy at work this week - probably adding to my blisters - they are forming mostly on my scalp now - patiently patiently waiting for the scabs to heal on my face. I have changed my hair style to swoop over my one eye trying to hide the worst of the scabs - at least my eye is no longer swollen shut to a slit - THAT looked bad! Most evenings the fatigue hits hard and increased pain. Trying to figure out is it real pain or the start of Phantom Pain?? Since the average is 3 weeks of shingles blisters, I'm betting it's real pain. Insurance rejected my PCP's request for prescription strength pain meds (non-narcotic) - not sure why? but I doubt I would have taken it anyways since I do have work, drive, function! So so glad I did not take SICK days from work - the K Orientation is kicking my butt - today is the last session of 22 students. But the most concerning behaviors all in this group Two students identified as Emotional Disturbance, 3 identified as Autistic, 1 identified as Hearing Impaired...the behavior ones I'm most concerned...All In! Gotta deal with it and see if the students can be 'peaceful' by September! The Prince continues to be clueless the amount of hours it takes to tackle the projects he wants done (like 'yesterday') He can't seem to understand why I haven't completed the in-depth analysis of state testing yet PLUS made him color graphs, and statistics, AND set up the new Benchmark imports of new K students, AND hand scored each of the 115 tests I did, AND prepared all the Special Ed records for new students coming in to train the one Dean of Students...ugh. I smile each day and work a little bit on each project - also keeping a Time Study to show him later, if needed, of a day in my life per hour...so much for 'summer hours' working 8 hours a day - my days are not quite as long as our Shelly, but I'm first one in and last one to leave each day. DL is always hovering but then she doesn't arrive until 9:00ish and works til 6:00 - WHO does that?? SMH

Lisa: Hope the work day went well yesterday...
Yes I got a handle on most of the work yesterday - spoke with my supervisor yesterday - get the feeling she doesn't "care"...
Oh Hope Greg's appointment went well!
Gabrielle: Glad you made it back to "our world"! LOL So glad you and Ed had a good weekend away! Loved the beaming smiles from you both in Monterey. WOW you really did hit it hard getting back to work! Hoping today and tomorrow will be "quieter" for you {{{hugs}}}
LOL Well you would THINK it would matter to my boss - being out of compliance... but, nope, not really! All I truly care about is documenting the fact that I was NOT there!! Not.MY.Circus. right??
Oh YES... my Dr called the vaccine order in to the pharmacy - I called and they just got some in! So I had to make a nurse appointment... but they will hold it for me for Tuesday! I am a little scared - but also know I need it - so Tuesday afternoon - I AM IN! Not sure about the 2nd dose... yet... but hoping they are prepared for that?!?
Hmmm, thanks for the fasting info... So in the 5 weeks, has it helped your weight loss? If you don't mind me asking...
I can tell you that being off Gabapentin (sorry Christine) I am NOT losing weight, BUT I AM losing the bloat. My pants/dresses are fitting more normal again... I also have not had diet soda in a while now again... Thank you - I think I have been in the pool (and enjoying it) more this year than the past several years lately... and with the weather ahead of us here - that will be a most welcome place to BE - IN THE POOL!
LOL Yes, while it IS nice to have and enjoy - we all know the maintenance is a PITA... and again, I have to give kudos to our Tracy... she has been very diligent in keeping the chemicals going this year! Actually I came home yesterday to a case of shock in my kitchen... my sister is also helping supply the chemicals... Tracy is good at keeping us on schedule for adding them to the pool! LOL She made us a calendar... so if she is not here - Ken and I know what's needed and when! Anyway... we are enjoying it more this year than the recent past years.

Oh Gabrielle - how exciting for Ty! A new job the new place... Good for Caitlyn that she is OK with him choosing the new apartment! LOL So Sacramento, only about an hour form you, right? Awesome! True empty nester talk... dumpster... LOL...
Shelly: OH NO! Poor DS... hope you are able to help him with the claim. OK Good that your sugar is OK... good luck with the monitoring! HA! Hey I get it GF... I am still 16 days behind my daily settlement! Two years ago getting behind more than 1 week was not allowed... funny how things change when supervisors change! UGH!
Oh My... 70+ hours a week??? I give you a lot of credit my dear - no way I could even entertain that idea of a schedule any more... I know, we do what we have to do, etc., but seriously?? Hun, you need to find a way to get out earlier! Just so ya' know... we don't care that you are too tired to chat at night - we care about YOU! Hell, I work a normal 8ish hour day and have no energy to catch up here at night... so don't feel guilty about that - just take care of you ♥

Mornin' Christine: YAY for a fully planned menu for today... OK Can you share? The summer squash zoodles... do you literally just run a yellow summer squash through a zoodle maker/spiralizer thing? I worry about the seeds... please, please, please, share what you do???
We had some rains yesterday - and possibility of more today... Saturday should be the highest heat index - but the next 5 days are ALL Hot.Hot.Hot!
Ouch - ouch - ouch... still not sure how you deal with it all! I hope you give in to the fatigue at night... sorry insurance won't give you a better med... even if only taken at night to help sleep?? How much Gabapentin are you taking each day??
Holy Smokes, this does sound like a challenging year ahead for your K class! I get it - you needed to be there... but... hoping it settles down for you SOON so you CAN deal with resting and getting the shingles cleared up and behind you!!
OY VEY Yes, glad you are keeping a time study - in with all your other jobs! YIKES! HOW!??!

OK Time to get moving here... not sure what to wear, as I have a hair appointment after work - usually get "chilled" in THAT A/C each time! I mean I have my fleece at work, but don't always think to bring one with me for after work!
Hoping to get in and out and home to still have time and desire for the pool after dinner!!
THINK IT THROUGH Ladies... we all need to keep reminding ourselves what we want and need to reach our goals!! ♥hugs♥

Good morning! I am guilty of not being a good planner, and tonight is DU's memorial visitation, so we probably won't eat till after that. I made my hair appt for coloring and cut for next Wednesday, I hope I can deal with my long bangs till then! Then Kim called me and said that the full timer in her department is quitting so she is working 6 days a week now till they fill the position.
It is already in the high 70's here and humidity is crazy high but that's part of a normal summer.
Carole-good job planning, it certainly pays off as the day goes on and you don't have to think about what to eat or do.
Christine-I hope that the scalp blisters start to dry up. After hearing all about the prince I would probably have to make a paper crown that I kept in my desk drawer...
I need to dry my hair get out the door. Try to BBL! Have a great Thursday!

Good morning ladies!
Think it through Thursday....thanks for starting us today Carole! This morning I am doing some work from home until about noon. There are FAR too many interruptions at work to get this more intense work done. A lot of people have been on vacation and they now have "urgent" things to talk to me about...even our Supt was gone for 3 1/2 weeks. In my department, we have to review all plans for 15 districts and I have to make sure that our own plan is approved by the state so this is not a time we can take days off (well, we can now and then, but not weeks). Looking forward to my time in October! Think it through....I will not be eating breakfast right away, but will be drinking water and coffee while working. I will probably try to eat a salad for lunch here at home before heading into work. I will take snacks--I usually have a sliced apple and I have been liking those small 100-calorie packs of salted, roasted edamame so I will take that and maybe a string cheese. I am going to pick up pizza for dinner tonight. I get a "skinny crust" pizza for me with red sauce and it is pretty light...the boys will have something more substantial. Already finished my TM workout so.....
Carole: LOL, when I first read your statement "I came home to shock in the kitchen" I thought, "Oh no, what happened?"...then I realized that we were still talking about pool chemicals! LOL. That is great that your sister contributes and that Tracy follows through with the maintenance---you guys keep the party house ready for everyone! That is great how you can get the vaccine, no such luck here. I am making it my mission to find it on Monday ---even if we have to drive a ways. Yes, super happy for DS25--he emailed the one place yesterday asking for a slightly higher salary and they will get back to him soon....I think he will take that one. It is with an orthopedic group in Sacramento. Yes, only about 45 min away! He and Katelyn had looked at a couple of places when she was out here two days (for work) but then he sent her videos of this place and they decided to take it. I can tell that they are excited--it has ROOMS. Their place in Jamaica Plain was SO small. And DS19 is getting excited about his move to OR....I am too---Max has so many talents, I want him to be somewhere where he can challenge himself and see what he can do. Hope that you have a wonderful day---I love getting my hair done---and I think you do too

Christine: Ugh, the scalp now! That is what I remember my DMIL having and I felt so badly for her. My friend that had the tiniest patch of shingles ever said that it really wore her out...I don't know how you keep plugging along. So glad that you are doing the time study--a nice proactive step for you to share with the Prince. LOL, I love Lisa's idea of the paper crown! Wow, sounds like you have your work cut out with you with your K's....we have been working hard on Universal Design for Learning and it makes me start thinking of those preemptive steps that you might take. The teachers will be SO glad to have you to assist! How is Carly's job going? So nice that she is getting a taste of her field of study.
Shelly: Wow, long weeks for you for sure (but I don't have a solution....only wonder about it). You know your body better than anyone else so keep working on the "why"....nice that you got the glucose monitor! My 98 is what the doctor is worried about. She thinks that it should always be lower than that (even when not fasting). We will see! Hope that your son's truck is covered by insurance--so glad that he wasn't in it!
Sue: Loving your family photos!!
Lisa: Wow, sorry about Kim's increased workload. On the other hand, it is good to be "distracted" from the other wedding things right now? Any more information on DH's ankle? Hope that is going okay....Hey, whatever you do, don't take your own scissors to those bangs! I had a friend who used to do that and it drove me nuts! LOL.
Okay, need to get moving and take advantage of quiet to get some work done. Have a good day, ladies!

Safe travels, Sue! Yes, always a bit melancholy at the end of a vacation.....
Carole, I realized that I didn't answer your question about the intermittent fasting. Yes, I have lost some weight due to it....probably because of two things: 1. I am pretty loyal to a 16-hour fast. I want to eat at about 11:00 am so that means that I stop eating at 7:00 pm. Not eating after 7:00 pm must help in the weight loss dept. I do drink decaf coffee or tea in the evening though..... 2. I have a MUCH better sense of what "hungry" feels like. And I am not afraid to feel hungry! I used to think that, if I waited until I felt hungry, I would eat everything in sight when I did get food. This is not the case...I know that I have 8 hours of time to eat and it makes it feel not so "desperate" to get food. Anyway, that is my long response. I am find that I do not want to do this fast on my long run days -- I need food in the morning. Also, I don't beat myself up if we are out of town and my fast is only 12 hours or so due to eating with family or whatever. I do think that, as soon as I get back on my 16-hour fast, it all evens out again. So there you have it!
Okay, back to work. See you all later!
