Top 10 Dieting Blunders
3. The belief that you have to eat less when you want to lose weight
A full plate is not possible when you’re on a diet, right? Wrong! Many of us believe that we should be cutting back on food to lose weight whereas we really should be eating more. The most important foods that we should be filling up on are vegetables — so fill your plate with them!
4. Not increasing your exercise levels
Upping your exercise levels will maximize your loss of fat and minimize your loss of lean muscle. It will also help you maintain your weight long-term and prevent weight re-gain. Try to do around 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity at least four times a week.

Just need to remember NOT to slather our veggies in butter or cheese, and to eat raw, broil or bake, rater than deepfry. Thinking onion rings or tempurah battered veggies.
I know that in walking, it is important to not go the exact same route every day as your muscles get used to that activity. We try to trade up our weekend walks to include hills for more cardio.

Too true...fill the dish with veggies and use carb/protein as condiments - I know I should exercise but for some reason seem to avoid doing so

Fried foods have never been my problem, being from the South, where we fry everything, you would think I would be a fan, but never have been. It's not the taste that I don't like, it's the way the grease feels in my mouth afterward. Silly? I know. I guess this has been a real blessing in disquise. I also, love most all vegetables. I do love my butter & cheese as toppings, but I try to limit them. I am a carb-a-holic on the other hand.
Trying hard to get my little exercise routine going every night. It is working out pretty well. I don't feel any weight loss, but I have built up a bit of stamina in my lower body.

I will be glad to get back to my regular way of eating, with more veggies and less meat. My daughter has been doing most of the cooking while my girls are here, and she is heavy on the meat. Not very many veggies, and I am finding I miss the variety of veggies I'm used to eating. I gained last week but am down some this week, so not all is lost (or rather gained ). As far as exercise, I haven't been doing much since the kids are here. We've been cleaning my basement. I ordered an elliptical machine which should be delivered today, so I'm going to use that rather than the treadmill. It should be easier on my knees.

I agree with choosing healthy food to fill you up. I love the wide choices for veggies and fruit. Exercising is important too. I need to think about upping my intensity.
Have a great day everyone.

Good reminder that a person can eat quantity - by choosing the right foods. I also think that something like a large salad, leafy greens takes longer to eat, which also helps notice that I'm getting full. Also thinking of fresh veggies like carrots or fresh fruit like apples - take time to chew...again, noticing that I'm full.
Exercise - I just can't seem to convince myself to quite being stubborn and make time in the day for it. One of those "know it's the right thing do" things, but still just don't.
