T.G.I.F... yup, I am happy for the week to be (almost) over here!!
Today is the annual trek to Boston for my kids... they go to the Genealogical Society for FREE FRIDAY for more research. So my sister Mary will have Eden. She has asked if they could come use the pool - and she is bringing stuff too have a small cook out for supper! Going to see about Matt & Patti bringing Zoë up, but that will be later - after swim lessons, so I am not sure about that. But it will be fun to have everyone here this evening! Today is supposed to start our HOT-HOT-HOT several days... like so hot they have issued heat advisories and all. We never get "that extreme hot" here at home... or it just doesn't bother me? But I am grateful we have the pool - in case it IS just that bad!
I'll have both girls tomorrow as all 4 parents work - not sure how long they will stay and all, but I will try to be "prepared" in case I have company again over the weekend! NOT shopping tonight though... want to get out of work - and get home!
THINK THROUGH THURSDAY went well for me! I did my journaling - eating was good - water was back to my 100 oz! No activity though... by the time I got out of work (late) got to my hair appointment (late) got home for dinner... Tracy had fallen asleep during the day and got a late start on dinner - so even that was LATE! I pretty much finished dinner and went upstairs to read and unwind...
My Supervisor has today off... and with Debbie out... and Kaitlin leaves early... just thinking ahead to the day it may be! UGH!
But meanwhile - it is time to refill my coffee, and catch up ♥

Lisa: OH NO! Poor Kim... of all times to have to do "double duty"! LOL Oh well, even we "planners" have days that just happen! For all the planning I do - we have several days where the dinner is the last thing we worry about!
We are 66 degrees this morning - humidity at 97%!
Thank you - It's funny - some days I take so much food/snacks I bring most of it back home again - not sure why I think I need so many snacks all day! I did fine with BLE when there were only the 3 meals a day!
Yesterday I never ate my apple, cheese or almonds!
Gabrielle: YAY for being able to work from home now and again... gotta love these folks that take extended vacations and come back and think your time is their time! WOW a 3 1/2 week vacation! Way to go planning yesterday! LOL We ended up with pizza the other night - it was sure yummy... and it was a single serve deep dish - but Ken and I shared it - with a salad...
LOL Oh dear - sorry... yeah just the shock we need in the pool! Sorry! LOL Yes, we can be very grateful for the help of my sister and Tracy this year.
I was SO surprised when I called the pharmacy and they had just gotten a shipment in! I am still a little leery of getting it after hearing of our Sue's reactions... but I keep in my head that it will still be better then what our Christine is going through! Also Ken had both vaccines with no reaction at all... Deb at work only had the sore arm... now I just need to make sure it is timed ok with getting my allergy injections too!
Well hey if you have to drive a ways to get it - it'll be just like all the driving you do for wok, right? A drive to Sac or Tahoe isn't out of the question!
Fingers crossed for Ty as he negotiates the new job {{{hugs}}} and to Katelyn as she prepares for the Bar Exam! So stressful and exciting at the same time!! Hoping max finds a place to live soon - now will you all drive him up there? Or will he fly? Or drive himself - so he has his car? How far is he going to be from you?? Gosh you have so MUCH going on all around you right now.... YES October will be a welcome "vacation" for you!
We have our hotel booked... but for the life of me I can't tell you which one we settled on! LOL Had to be one with a pool and a hot tub... near the metro... with breakfast... and MAN the prices of the ones right in the city! Nope we are over the line in VA I think. No worries - I wanted to be right in the city but not worth it and many didn't have the amenities we want! LOL Oh and parking... over $200.00 a night PLUS $65.00 a day to park! UMMM NOPE... we'll be fine in VA.
Yes, I do enjoy getting my hair done... but will admit last night - I just wanted to get home!! I wasn't a very talkative client last night...
Sue: What an awesome vacation you had!! And it continues... maybe nice to have some you & Jason time before getting home again ♥
Tell Barb I said HI!
Gabrielle: Oh yes... I try not to eat after 7 myself... and the past few days "breakfast" hasn't been until between 10 AM and NOON! I just don't think about it - when I am "this busy"! I do my tea and water at work, and of course my half caf coffee in the morning... Thanks for the info! I think that "fasting" but having a healthy meal "ready" is KEY to the success. IF I let myself fast, but then have no plan - THAT'S when things go downhill quickly! So back to my planning - and prepping more... and having the healthier things "ready" so I don't grab the wrong foods! Thank you ♥

So even though it is TGIF I can still plan ahead. I know tonight will be hamburgers for dinner, and chips... I know my sister won't be bringing a lot of "sides", so it will be a tough one! So to prepare for a "heavier" meal tonight, I will have a lighter day! B: Protein Shake S: Apple & string cheese L: Salad with salsa chicken and beans S: Almonds I will have my usual 84 oz of liquids while at work... and will have a bottle of seltzer with my supper. Wine is almost gone - and no shopping tonight - so I may/may not have that tonight - may save it for tomorrow! LOL
They are "reporting" on the news that we should start hydrating today - in order to stave off this extreme heat this weekend... sorry have to LOL as we are at 66 degrees here - not sure we will ever get above the 90s today!
Good news is my salad is ready to go - and everything else I brought home (not eaten) yesterday... just have to grab my shake!
Need to move early this morning... have a little time to "make up" and don't want to have to stay too late after work today!
So I hope you all stay safe if you are in the heat... well stay safe anywhere - but keep hydrated in the heat!
Who has FUN plans this weekend??? I think I will be pretty much keeping close to home, MAYBE a trip to Wal-Mart Saturday evening (after the girls go home) but maybe not...
Have a great TGIF ♥hugs♥

Good morning! DOR from the TM today for me....resting the legs before my long run tomorrow. With how hot it has been, I need to be really good about staying hydrated today in preparation. I am not always the best at that. The hot humid heat in the areas where some of you live sounds so oppressive! even though we are almost always teetering around 100 degrees, it's so dry here that it's not the same as the humid heat that you all get. Hope that you all are drinking and planning for it.
Carole: Sounds like a fun time tonight at your house! It's so great to have that to look forward to as you work your way through Friday. I do remember that your kids like doing that geneology work and that there was a free day--I wonder what they might find today? So, you will have the girls tomorrow--a nice, calm, normal Saturday for you I hope! Good idea to plan for your meal tonight. Anymore I find that I am fine with taking off the top bun on my hamburger to cut back on some of the carbs (still keep the bottom one though!). It's mostly the things ON the burger that I want to taste anyway....won't it be great for someone else to cook? No parties this weekend---YAY!!! Hope that today goes well without everyone there (as well as it can) and that you have a great family-filled evening! Yes, so great that you have the pool!! Do you have lights out there for evening swims?
Christine: Hope that you are having a good end to the week and that the testing report is getting wrapped up --- I know that you have spent so much time on it. Also hope that the shingles are coming to a close for you---it's been 1 1/2 or 2 weeks? Thinking about you!
Hello to Sue (hope you are headed home safely), Shelly, Lisa, and all who follow. I want to get out of here early today to read a bit in preparation for an 8:00 phone call. Should have done it last night, but didn't get home until 6 pm and I was too tired. See you all later....

Good morning! The memorial visitation was ok but today is 6 years that Greg's mom passed away, and tomorrow is her birthday, so hard weekend. No big plans though. He still needs to get a suit for the wedding and I need to get a strapless bra!
Carole-I am going in to an office with only one person there today, but at least I only am there tin the morning. Not a big deal because I am working in a different room but I do like having someone to chit-chat with when I take a break. Good job planning again..I am sure that the kids keep you busy!
Gabrielle-good idea for DOR. Yes, we definitely have the humid heat, and I am drinking my water. The University had an energy alert yesterday. I just took the trash toter to the street and felt like I was in a steamy bathroom.
Might try to see if Greg is up to suit shopping today. I am ready to go to VS, can check that off my list then. Otherwise maybe this weekend. Gotta get going...waves and will try to BBL. It feels like a good salad day, too hot to eat too much!

The weather here is so hot....not the day to be outside but it is what it is...will make the best of it!
Tried to read and get up to speed last night but internet was sketchy! Hopefully tonight it will be better!
Hope all are well....

Evening all...went back and read from Tuesday on and feel a little bit more “enlightened”!
Slept until about 7:30 and at 8:00 we went down for breakfast....the usual hotel breakfast but free/included so saves on the vacation budget. Hit the road and made good time getting to Cleveland...once we got there and found the gardens decided it was WAY to hot to be walking around the gardens so opted for the Cleveland History Center...inside, air conditioned and lots of fun! So much more than I expected. We are hoping that by hitting the Hale Farm tomorrow earlier in the day the heat won’t be too bad but who knows....this excessive heat is really nasty!
Had SO MUCH FUN with Barb! She was just as I expected and we chatted over dinner for a couple hours! Got back to the hotel and just relaxing for a bit....Jason is “surfing” on his phone, I’m vegging on my iPad and watching Food Network!
Going to try and make a few comments but if I mix stuff up, it’s been a long week w/o really checking in and to read several days at once, it makes my brain go to mush!
Carole...glad you Monday was productive and you are not letting the chaos at work and being “non compliant” get to you....seems the supervisors don’t care so just do what you can do and let it fall into place. Glad you DS and Tracy are a help with the pool supplies and schedule! Loved the pix of Zoe’s princess party! Glad Eden was a good big cousin and let Zoe have her day w/o tying to take over! Hope the meds help Ken and the chest x-ray shows nothing!
Gabrielle...love your weekend fun in Monterey...fun 60th for Ed. So excited that things are falling into place for Ty and Kaitlyn! Hope the extra $$$ falls into place for him. I know you are happy he will be close again! Will need to think about the fasting....I usually eat around 6:00pm and sometimes snack after that but not always...then don’t eat breakfast until I’m at work about 9:00am, sometimes later than that.... Glad you could work from home in peace...I know how chaotic it can be at work with so many people “needing your time”!
Lisa...poor Kim! Timing couldn’t be worse....hope they find a replacement soon! I missed something along the way but it seems Greg is not doing well with retirement...hope it all falls into place and he comes to turns with the balance. Hope he soon opts to suit shop...the wedding will be here soon!
Shelly...OMG...you work too many hours! No wonder your re tired. Hope you can find a way to cut back and take care of you! Glad you have the glucose monitor and being proactive with that! How’s DS truck...did the claim get filed?? Is it covered???
Christine...great idea to keep a “time line” of the hours it takes to complete all the things the Prince requests. WOW, this K class could be a handful it sounds.... Glad the blisters on your face are finally drying and the new “hair style” can hide it a bit....did the doctor give you a time line for how long the eruptions would continue??
I will say...the shingles shot side effects are NOTHING compare to what you are dealing with these days...I hade 2-3 days of feeling like crap but it was over...this has been going on for weeks!
Waves Jenny, Jo and anyone I might have missed....should be back on the boards regularly by Monday or Tuesday.....couple more full days of vacation left and plan to enjoy every minute!
Sarah’s gang made it home safely today....Colton got picked up by Amanda at 3:30 w/o issue! Always a bonus....she had to video chat with him on Josh’s time...she’s such a PITA. Colton said....”I don’t need to talk to her but she says she ‘needs’ to see me”! Made us all laugh!
Hannah’s gang are in Chicago for a couple days...today they went to the aquarium....it was too hot to do anything outside...they never would have gone because it would have cost about $150 for the 4 of them but it’s part of some Blue Star Program and FREE to all active service members and their families this month! BONUS! They had beluga whales and the baby was just born on July 3rd! The boys were in their glory!
Time to get ready to settle in for the night....sweet dreams all!
