WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C99D20,44 points, 1590 calories, 8 water
Just once around the mall.
So all I had after dinner was a nice zero point salad with 2 T Bolthouse Farms dressing for that last 1 point. Therefore OP so I won't call it a binge though it was certainly bingy. The way I see it, I could have continued the eating nonstop all night but didn't, breaking the all or nothing mentality. Too much of a rationalization?

23 points 1749 calories 24 APs
Today will be a relaxed eating day; my good friend is having her son’s graduation party this afternoon. I’d also like to enjoy a treat if we go somewhere between soccer matches. It’s already 80° with 88% humidity. I’m taking a small water bottle with me on my run this morning. Not really looking forward to it. I’m hoping I can find something to listen to that will distract me.
Nancy, I’m glad you decided not to call it a binge. I was going to mention today that it didn’t seem like a true binge. It’s a good thing you don’t have to walk far tomorrow. I can’t imagine what the feels like temperature will be in the city.

Nancy, I’ve been very snacky also and not calling it a binge. I’m sticking with low point snacks and it’s not out of control. Just consuming more than normal. Good for you figuring out points. It really healed you stay on track!! Jan, enjoy the party and soccer matches!! Our feel like temp is 103...I plan on staying in AC!! Kathy, love that your Feeling good and passed up the candy!! Great job getting your walking in early...it’s just way too hot out there...enjoy your family reunions!!
Happy the scale was the same today. Just want to get over the urges without much damage. I know it will pass...

AP 3 18 minutes walking with the dog and 25 without WP 39 remaining

I'm going to post this so a don't loose the compiled stats and then come right back to edit in some personals.

Believe it or not, I was down .8. I only weighed in rather than attend the meeting as I overslept this morning. I had turned off my alarms when I moved to the recliner but I set my ipad alarms. Either they never went on for some unknown reason or I just didn't hear them. So I weighed in and did my grocery shopping. Then I went to the mall with a friend. Three times around and I'm already up to 9724 steps. A pleasant surprise. The loss wouldn't have occurred had I continued eating (binging) last night. I guess it really helps to track no matter what. I am a happy camper.
Jan - I like the phrase "relaxed eating day". I'll aim for that tomorrow despite the planned splurge of a bacon cheeseburger and fries.
Lori - Haha - I didn't think you were in Atlantic City - then I realized you meant air conditioning.
Louise - Sometimes I do the same thing. Post the stats and follow up with personals later.
