Planning to go grocery shopping and other shopping soon (but waiting for a thunderstorm to pass, or at least see how bad it's going to be) . Sunday, volunteering with the dogs. In other words, pretty much the same as every weekend. It has been very hot and humid here for the past couple of days, but not as bad today and for the next week. Actual temp was around 95 Friday, the heat index was over 100, dew points around 80, which is pretty high for this area.

I'll be doing a little cleaning in my basement in the bathroom and wash room. My kids have been here and we did major cleaning, organizing, and arranging, and painting in my basement. It is finished except for a few things that I need to decide where they will go. Tomorrow the kids will be leaving. I need to mow my lawn, so I'll probably work on that tomorrow.
Our temperatures this weekend will be about 77, but next week will be in the 80s. It hasn't been very hot here, not like the other places I've been hearing about. In fact it may be a bit below normal for this time of the year.

Oh, we have high temps ok. The humidity is what kills us. Though, it is not as hot here as it is supposed to be in the Northeast this weekend. So far, I think the highest out heat index has gotten was 106. Thank goodness we have a new AC! Of course, we may have to take out a bank loan to pay the electric bill, LOL, but that's ok, so long as we stay cool.
No real plans for the weekend, just church this afternoon, we will eat out afterward, just too hot to cook today.

Wow, I am not going to complain about our high 70s/low 80s with no humidity. Day camp finished yesterday, so today I will head over to the church to help undecorate. Our church and another in Eugene share the day camp decorations, so they will come pick them up for whenever their day camp is held.
Then, I need to clean my kitchen. It has gotten to be a disaster with me gone at day camp and working last week, it seems like I dumped a lot of stuff on the kitchen table to "take care of later". Well, today is later. Will probably go out and trim a dead bush later this evening when it cools down.

Well, what took 20 people several Saturday mornings to assemble and 3 hours to put up the decorations, took about 1 hours for 10 people to undecorate day camp. So the church is all ready for services tomorrow.
I worked out in the back yard for a while once it got shady. Over the winter, a tree died, so today I trimmed off the branches that I could reach. Now need to go out with a saw and a shovel.
Sunday looks to be much the same- work inside wile its hot outside and go out for an hour or so once it gets cooler.

Yesterday I led services for a vacationing friend (with a successful outcome), later spoke on the phone with my youngest grandson (who's getting ready to go to college in late August), then lounged around most of the rest of the day (the Sabbath day is called, after all, the "day of rest"). Today, DH and I are going to a movie screening in an air-conditioned social hall. The screen isn't the size of those in a regular movie theater, but considerably larger than the largest living-room TV screen I've ever seen... We may go out for lunch first. Sunday evenings I generally line up my tutoring schedule for the coming week, so that's what I have to look forward to. I like weekends...

My kids left this morning after being here for 3 weeks. Those 3 weeks went awfully fast. We cleaned out my basement but I still have a bit of cleaning to do down there. I'll get that done this week. Today I think I'll mow my yard.
