Bob: The corpse flower is HUGE...didn't realize it was until I saw it next to a person! Guess it is good it is not like a venus fly trap only intent on eating humans! I, of course, had to google and found this...had no idea it only blooms every few years...

The best guess is that when someone over-watered WSU Vancouver's Titan arum because the huge leaf was browning it cloned the corm into probably 4 new corms. It took 17 long years for this flower to bloom on one of the four corms. Amazingly the flower remained upright for 3.5 days which is unusual. I guess they are lucky it bloomed at all with the mistreatment.
Rode up to skyline yesterday for 90' and walked 75'.
