So sorry Liz has so much pain.
Wish I liked ratatouille.
Congrats on loss, Karen.
Curry and scoops is a small restaurant Indian with a busy day in take out. There is a lot of ice cream, regular flavors and Indian ones like rise petals, jack fruit, chutney, green tea.The ice cream brings in other customers in down times who then might try Indian food later.Actually milk and ice cream are the best way to put out the fire when you eat spicy food. There is a dollar movie theater a few doors down that always runs two kid shows, and three other places to eat. We had samosas and a samosa filling plus something else on it. I think the rest of their menu is probably good.
At seven this morning it was still only 88 in the shade in my yard which tends to run a few degrees cooler than the street. Heading for 108 which is pretty normal for 4 PM.
Got in step ups, getting out of chair with no hands, squats to sit position, and standing leg lifts today.Lying down doing that sets off sciatica.

Good Evening Chicks,
Chele - nice haul from the farmer's and I bet the ratatouille was scrumptious. We are still hot and very humid with excessive heat warnings and no relief until Mon. into Tues. I believe. I thank heaven that I didn't get stuck in the subway debacle on Friday evening. That would have about done me in. Interestingly, I took the bus to the subway station and then decided to catch a cab since I couldn't get one outside the hospital as usual. Have been resting, icing and elevating as much as possible. Too much discomfort and pain. Managed to diminish it a bit with some OTC meds and an XL pain patch. Allergies are still active as the pollen is still been at least moderate. Zoe is doing pretty well and is taking her new medicine in peanut butter!
Kathy - thought of our dads this weekend with all the videos and programs about the Apollo and the program. HBO showed First Man last night and it was better than I expected. Had a strange moment of tears when watching some of the never before shown footage from the program. Made me think of dad and how much I miss him. Please stay cool in your soupy stuff also. The city should be a mess of heat and humidity tomorrow for work.
Linda - thought the Curry and Scoops was an interesting name and hope what you bought was yummy! Good job on getting in your steps and the exercise. I feel like it's a workout just going up and down our steps in the house right now. I managed to walk the dogs and go to the grocery but felt pretty shot after that. 18% humidity would be welcome right now even with the 95+ temps.
Becky - sorry you had to go back for your prescriptions that weren't ready for you. I'm glad you are keeping cool inside and not venturing out into that intense heat. I look forward to the time when I will be able to use a recumbent bike and/or a Nu-Step. Am pretty positive that another hip replacement is in the not so distant future for me. At this point, whatever will remove the chronic pain will be a blessing. Am ungodly tired of fighting pain every day and the associated issues that comes with it.
Karen - sorry that you had to go through three different shoes to get your treadmill work done. Sounds like the feets are still in process of healing in their own way. No Alta yet, I should have set it up this weekend but have had trouble focusing on anything really. I hope that you're correct and Dale didn't see his presents you were getting ready to wrap. We have our matinee next weekend with the rock musical which is something to look forward to. How is Arya doing? We are all hiding from the heat inside and feeling blessed to have AC. Have been keeping as many electrical things unplugged as possible and have blackout curtains on the big windows downstairs. How is the knee feeling? Congrats on the loss; I'm with Becky that any loss is a loss!!
Alright dear ladies, I am off to ice and elevate. Wishing you all a safe and lovely evening; ciao for now~

(((Liz)))I'm so sorry you are in so much pain and have to spend your spare time icing and elevating your leg.If the hip surgery will help with any of that horrible pain it would be worth doing as soon as possible.Prayers and hugs for you.The stupid local meteorologists keep insisting we are getting a "cold front" Tuesday. The highs will be in the low 90's instead of pushing 100 for 3 days. That is no dang cold front in TX.I want to reach through the TV and strangle them every time they say those 2 words.

Becky, that is cool on the fans dressed up as astronauts. We've been getting so much coverage of Apollo 11 here, that I just figured Texas would be doing the same. Some of our coverage was focused on Houston too.
Liz, I've had a couple of moments of tears too and it is a reminder of how much we miss our dads. The coverage of JoAnn Morgan here has also made me think of my high school band director (her husband). He was such a wonderful teacher. He retired after working over 30 years in the school system, but I don't think they had too much retired time together. He died suddenly of a heart attack and was only 67. I think the only way to stay cool in this soupy stuff is to stay inside. I hope your commute tomorrow is an easy one.
