Day 21 - Get Ready to WI
Weekly weigh-ins help you in the following ways: - They allow you to celebrate and build up your confidence when you’ve lost weight. - They keep you honest if you’ve gained weight. - They help you stay committed to the program.
But be careful: Weighing yourself can erode your motivation more than it helps if you step on the scale with the wrong mindset.
When you weigh yourself, use the number on the scale as a guide to decide whether you should keep doing what you’re doing or make changes.
Beck recommends creating a weight loss graph where you record your weight on the same day every week. A typical weight loss graph resembles a jagged downward slope rather than a straight downward line. Overall your weight will go down, but it’s unlikely to go down every week.
How do you track your weight? Paper, app, chart, graph, bmi, measurements, etc? What thoughts do you have before you get on the scale?

How do you track your weight? Paper, app, chart, graph, bmi, measurements, etc? I track on paper daily in my journal and I track on MFP where there is also a chart. In 1998/9 I tracked on a graph on paper...and think I still may have a graph on my computer somewhere that would create a graph?
What thoughts do you have before you get on the scale? I weigh most days as a check in to see where I am but don't let it rule the day

I track in a desk planner by my computer and I weigh daily. I have the planners for a few years so I have a history of my weights which can help when I worry about weight gain. I also weigh-in at WW meetings and have a graph online for that.
Right now I'm up some so I worry a little before I get on the scale. If the number is up it bothers me a little but recently I've been working on my portion creep so I feel a little better.

I also weigh daily and I use a different app for those weigh-ins.

I weigh every day and take measurements too. I am a bit of an obsessive tracker. I keep a paper graph, and I also keep a running monthly average of my highest and lowest weights. My weight has been stable for a while so I am in a positive relationship with my scale.

When I started WW for the third time 13 years ago I knew that if I did the program I would eventually get to goal. I also knew from the previous two times that I didn't lose every week and sometimes I would gain but in the end I lost the weight. Therefore I concentrated on staying on program and didn't allow myself to get pulled around by the nose by my weekly scale number. The few times I got upset was when I had overeaten and then was mad because it showed up on the scale, no logic there.

How do you track your weight? Paper, app, chart, graph, bmi, measurements, etc?I use a 3rd party all that's no longer supported but I love it and all my food library is already input into it. The weight tracker stopped working so I track that on iBites app. What thoughts do you have before you get on the scale? I'm always holding my breath, hoping for a loss of any kind, but when it doesn't happen, I go back over what I ate that last week to see where I went off the rails. I know that if I stick with the plan I will eventually lose the weight so it doesn't bother me that much anymore.

Thank you all so much! I'm happy to do it. I get a little stressed when I think I've posted and then realize I haven't - like this morning, sorry about that! - but it is a lot of fun to do and I really appreciate the opportunity.

How do you track your weight? I use the WW app for my official weekly weigh in, and I use my Fitbit app to track that plus any in-between weighings. I tried weighing daily for awhile but it just made me crazy. Now I look at the graphs to see my longer-term trends. I'm also duplicating this on my own spreadsheet just in case! Did I mention I'm a numbers person? 😜
What thoughts do you have before you get on the scale? I admit, I don't always have a good mindset about scale numbers. I know intellectually that it is "just feedback" but I often feel it as "judgement."

I track on MFP and also write it down in my bullet journal.
I'm normally a little apprehensive getting on the scale. I gained 4 pounds over the weekend. But looked at all the sugar I ate with my niece, not drinking enough water and had to alcoholic drinks last night after I dropped her off.
So I took it in stride and started with water and fruit immediately today
