Down 0.8 for the week. My free month from WW online was set to expire on 7/29 and I had already cancelled.I received an email from them today offering me another free month. Are they desperate??? Regardless as much as I have paid in over the last 6 years I figured why not.I'm not doing freestyle but I am using the app to track my pointed foods.I don't mind another free month.

Regular Saturday 8 AM workshop Good attendance (surprisingly so!) Topic: 4 Ways to Stop Yourself from Eating Out of Boredom
'This week, try the “wait it out” technique in dealing with boredom eating. First, identify a situation when you are likely to eat due to boredom. Then, think of 1-2 non-food activities you can do instead.
It’s best to identify activities that you can do easily and almost anywhere, like take a quick walk, call a friend, practice mindful breathing, play a game on your phone, read an article, or go on Connect. More complicated activities, like getting a massage or going to the gym, are great ways to take care of yourself, but can be harder to do right in the moment when boredom or procrastination strikes.'
Vent: I am TIRED of being asked how I feel about these topics. I don't always need to FEEL. Sometimes I just need to DO (or NOT DO) without attaching deep interpretation to it.

Vent: I am TIRED of being asked how I feel about these topics. I don't always need to FEEL. Sometimes I just need to DO (or NOT DO) without attaching deep interpretation to it. I suppose these kinds of topics might be useful for someone who is at their very first diet rodeo but for the rest of us? Probably not, unless they felt a need for a repeat of something we've all heard a thousand times before. Listening to this sort of advice at meetings I would respond, in my head, with "OMG I never thought of doing something else besides eating when I was eating mindlessly! THANK YOU!!!!" followed by an internal eye-roll and a silent DUH.

Vent: I am TIRED of being asked how I feel about these topics. I don't always need to FEEL. Sometimes I just need to DO (or NOT DO) without attaching deep interpretation to it. Butbutbutbutbut…if we don’t psychoanalyze ourseleves with WW’s help, then we will have to pay BIG BUCKS to mental health professionals to do it for us. Seriously, I didn’t mind these topics when they started being introduced in rotation when PointsPlus was introduced; I didn’t mind them the first five or ten times they came up; but after a hundred or more iterations I am totally burned out on these same old topics. Does anybody remember versions of WW programs where the program materials were plentiful and topics like these were handled as start-up materials when a member joined or came back? The member received a “module” every week for their first eight or ten weeks and didn’t have to hear the same old same old over and over as meeting content in perpetuity; and “seasoned” members didn’t have to suffer through listening to the same content every six or eight weeks. Why the old meeting format—asking members what challenges they faced the previous week and how they handled it, to spawn discussion and exchange of ideas—became obsolete and abandoned has baffled me since that change occurred.
