7. Buying foods such as chips and chocolate for the kids
Having these types of foods in the house can be a temptation; you are more likely to reach for the chocolate if it is to hand, whereas if you had to make the effort to go to the shops you probably wouldn’t bother!
8. Being influenced by others
Are there saboteurs in your house? Are you being held back by your friends or family? It may be uncomfortable to address these issues as family members or friends may not want you to change so think about talking through your plans with them.

I am guilty of buying those tempting foods. I am pretty good at limiting what I have, but there are somethings that I could probably do better at not even buying. This kinda goes along with #8- I tend to buy things I normally wouldn't when I shop with friends and see what they are buying- perhaps chips that normally I wouldn't buy, suddenly seem like a must have item. Letting someone else's choices dictate my choice-

I don't often have tempting things in the house. I used to and do if we have guests but since we don't have guests often don't stock items that are tempting. Most Lebanese houses have: chocolate, sweets, soda, coffee, booze and all manner of other things readily available as they expect guests at any time. UGH!
As for being influenced by others...it does happen with food and clothes and shopping and such. I need to perhaps wear a talisman to remind me NOT to be sucked in when out and about with friend!

I do buy what they hint calls "tempting" foods - and we don't have any children! I'm comfortable with having it around. I don't over eat it and keep consumption in check by keeping those kind of things out of direct sight or in an out of the way place. Chocolate is in the freezer, in the basement. Just that bit of inconvenience can be enough to make me think about it and decide if I want it or not.
Very lucky & thankful to generally be around others who also eat well and lead healthful lifestyles.

Alas, my youngest is 40!!!!, I do have a teenage GS, but his isn't with me as much as he used to be. I can't keep certain foods in the house. If I buy something because I know GS is coming, I usually just try to buy an individual serving, so that there is none left here when he leaves. DH & I both have to watch what we eat. He does insist on having ice cream in the house, but that is not tempting for me. I seldom eat ice cream.
SIL is my greatest temptation, she is always cooking something. We also eat out quite a bit, which is difficult to always make good choices.

If I have baked goods or certain other things around, I keep them in the freezer in the basement. Out of sight, out of mind. I don't buy baked goods, if I have any they are leftovers from baking something for a potluck or bake sale. I do keep Dove chocolate Promises around, but I don't have more than two of them a day. They do seem to top off a meal for me, or I'll have them sometimes for a snack with some nuts. I live alone, so I don't have others around to influence me. Although I'll have to admit that when my kids were here, I ate more junk food than I have for a long time. Candies and potato chips and dip. For that reason I'm glad they aren't here that often.

DD lives with us and she’s willing to keep her snacks etc downstairs in her area. Just having chocolate and chips out of sight helps me.
My influencers are basically influencers for the good. They include my dh and WW peeps.
