Good morning.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from WWs, had a gain, and is recommitting to the program. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. We love to use first names here, so tell us yours when you post.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes it is harder to keep it off and even if we fail, we keep trying, which is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, I count on talking to you guys each day and I am blessed to count you as friends! We welcome old and new friends, please come and join us.

Hello Friends, Well my internet remained flaky throughout yesterday, so I never was able to post again. They are building 3 huge new houses at the front of my neighborhood - lots of digging around in the ground and such, so I suspect they may have cut a line or something. Hopefully it will get fixed soon. I hate to have to make that call myself - as it usually means spending an eternity on hold and then getting bumped to other "customer service" people, more holding, and ending in frustration. ha! So I'm trying to wait them out - good thought needed here.

Somebody asked yesterday about replacing my phone, I would LOVE to get a new one, but am holding out for DH to finally decide that he finally needs one too (which he actually needs more than I do - but he's even more stubborn than I am). We want to go at the same time, as we're hoping to negotiate a deal and lower our monthly fees, or possible switch carriers. And that's the ONLY reason that I haven't already handled this. Mine still actually works just fine, it's just hard to see and sometime hard to type due about 75% of the screen being a shattered mess. Lol
We decided on the Christmas dinner menu yesterday. We are not going to Alabama this year due to DHs limited time off (new company stuff). So it will just be the two of us, DD and DSIL. I've mentioned before our tradition of having a non-traditional meal, and this year will be no different.
I'm making chicken & dumplings, green beans, glazed carrots, collard greens, corn bread, and possibly deviled eggs. DH is now referring to this as our "Cracker Barrel Christmas". Ha!

Good morning.
I read through all the weekend posts last night but was tired and did not post. It was a whirlwind weekend and we got to see my family.
Lora you can find places that will repair your screen. I don't know how much it would cost but my son has had his replaced before. Hopefully your internet will be back up and running smoothly soon.
I am going to have a pretty busy week between work and home. I am not even thinking about food prep, etc. Although my stomach is letting me know that it is time for me to get back on track. Everything I eat is making me achy and uncomfortable. I am sure my stomach lining is inflamed and I need to go to bland foods before I end up with an ulcer or something.
Waving to all.

Just read a quote that fits our group (or I think it does) I have no idea who said it but it was:
"continuous effort, not strength, is the key to unlocking our potential"
If there was ever a group that made a continuous effort - it would be our ROs.

Lora, funny about you making the Chicken and Dumplings. I saw a recipe for a different type of chicken and dumplings where they make a corn biscuit of sorts and put that on the chicken, and was thinking I would maybe make that for my winter dinner party, trying to make a gourmet style chicken and dumplings, which truthfully I have never had. I also had some left over cream of mushroom soup from when I made green beans for the Thanksgiving meals, so was thinking of making the green bean casserole because it really looked pretty good when I made it. I think the problem with that is years ago everyone used canned french string beans for it, and it was more gummy looking. I will say that those fried onions out of the can smelled pretty good. I am sure your meal will be a good one, but funny about the Cracker Barrel Christmas.
Jana, I like that quote. Continuous effort, that is certainly us.
DH has a post op appointment this afternoon, so I am working from home. Need to drop him off at his office first, then pick him up there to go to the appt at 2 pm. Nothing much going on with me work wise other than playing the waiting game.

Jana - I did look into just replacing my screen, but the costs was almost as much as getting a whole new phone. I'm due for an upgrade anyway, so I suspect I'll just replace the one I have.
Robin - my sister-in-law just had shoulder surgery a few weeks ago. She also had bone spurs that were cutting the muscles and tendon. I can't even imagine how painful that must be. I know the surgery itself and the early PT was pretty painful as well, but she sure is looking forward to getting through all of that and being pain-free and getting her range of motion back. She's only 45 and was dismayed when her surgeon mentioned signs of osteo-arthritis - it made her feel old. I've never heard of making corn dumplings to go with the chicken, but is sounds delicious! Let me know how it turns out if you decide to go that direction. I might be wanting that recipe. I've never been a huge fan of green bean casserole - I think because of the canned green beans like you mentioned. I don't eat many things that come out of a can - everything seems to taste like the can to me. Kind of mettalic and weird. Apparently DD and DH do not taste these things the same way I do. Also....those fried onions are delicious and devilish, aren't they?
Kind of a slow day here at work. Tomorrow will be hopping though. I'm looking forward to getting these two days behind me and being off until next Tuesday

I am saying this here because there really isn't anywhere else I can share this at the moment - I would perfectly fine if I went to bed tonight and woke up and it was January 1st and I missed all the holiday stuff. I am over it.
They changed the Christmas play at the church my DGK go to - and it is now Wednesday night - guess who has had plans for this Wednesday night for over a month? Guess who is currently the biggest b*tch because she will not change those plans. Yup that would be me..............

Oh Jana! I'm so sorry. This time of year everybody's calendars are jam packed with commitments. I can't believe they are upset with you because you won't/can't drop everything to accommodate the last minute change. It's nobody's fault. It just is what it is. Sometimes that's just the way it goes. Not my place to say...but your DGKs parents really seem to be pretty spoiled and entitled to me. Many hugs to you. I happen to know that you are definitely NOT a b*tch. You adore those little ones. I hate that they are making you feel bad about this. (((HUGS)))

Hi ROs...busy day... got to the gym and to PT. Stopped for a late lunch, took a short rest then headed into DM's nursing home since DSon's boy scout troop was singing Christmas carols there. Finally back home for a late dinner and off to bed so I can have DH at PT tomorrow morning at 8:00.
Jana - I can't believe that DSC are upset with you because the church changed the date!!! I'm sure you were planning on going on the original date. Seems to me that you can never seem to please them. So sorry.
