Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Another great day yesterday. Spent 3.5 hours shopping on the Magnificent Mile. Loved that. Only bought myself a sweatshirt from the Disney Store with a Windy City Mickey, but checked out a lot of stores we don’t have in Buffalo.
Afterwards went to the Field Museum. I enjoyed that museum too. Dinosaurs, birds, mammals, evolution, mummies ... spent another 3 hours there and I could have used more time. Very interesting place.
On to the pizza tour. Had an onboard guide who gave us history of Chicago in addition to escorting us to 3 pizza places. We sampled 5 different pizzas in all. A Polish pizza with sauerkraut and Polish sausage, it was great. A spicy pizza, different peppers that was very good. Thiose were both thin crust. Had a pan pizza with sausage that was my favorite, then 2 deep dish pizzas, one with pepperoni and one veggie. The deep dish pizza was not what any of us expected, it was ok but I wouldn’t order it on my own. The samples were quite big, and the evening ended with a deep dish dessert, chocolate chip cookie topped with ice cream, fudge and whipped cream. That was awesome.
Fitbit read 18,000 steps. That’s the most steps I’ve ever walked and I’m feeling it this morning. Today is the longest day, so I repacked now so I won’t have to later.
I’ll try to bbl.

On the bus so I can catch up more.
Ruth - we charge $20 for the rotation without oil change too. With an oil change it’s only $5 more. I always thought that was a lot to pay, but it seems to be pretty standard. Sounds like you’re ready for construction to begin. It’ll be messy for a while, but I’m sure it will be worth it.
Dottie - vacations are always nice, your family one sounded wonderful. But it’s always nice to be back home.
I got a few texts from the other cashier. She had some questions even though we went over everything. I was able to get her through her issues. She really knew what she was doing, but wasn’t too confident. Glad I was able to help.
Weather has been great, high 70s and low 80s. Heat is coming back to the area tomorrow and we’ll be heading home. Chicago is a really beautiful city. So much to see and do.
See ya later.

Good morning. This day started out differently than we expected. Normally these guys start at 7:30. We were told today would be 9:00 because they had another stop. So Stan and I figured if we got ready about 8:15 and then moved our last remaining stuff out of the bathroom we’d be good to go. 8:00 sharp our Ring doorbell tells us that there is someone on the front porch. It was the plumbers!!! Neither of us is dressed, although Stan was going downstairs and was just going to step into the shower. I was still in my robe & nightgown. Oh well. Then they had Stan turn off the water to the entire house so they could take out the tub and toilet. They did their thing and left. Then at 9:00 sharp the construction crew showed up. We still don’t have a dumpster, so stuff is going to be sitting in our yard until one gets here. While the plumbers worked I went upstairs and got cleaned up, dressed, took pills, etc. Now we are just watching the Mueller hearing and doing this and staying out of their way. I have other stuff to do like a load or two of laundry, but not doing it right now. I have an appt. for a pedicure at 2:00 and it’ll be nice to get out of here for a while. Got a call this morning and the closet drawers/shelves will be installed on the 22nd. Wish it was sooner, but they are full the week after the work is done and the day he suggested is the day we are driving home from DS Carol’s. A few more days won’t be an issue.
I should get started on laundry, and I need to go downstairs and gather up the stuff for the charity pickup I scheduled on Friday morning. DGD Kira wrapped up all the glass Knick knacks that I had left over from my DM’s house and a few things I was getting rid of. I should go upstairs and go thru the girls room / my craft room and donate some of what’s in there. For now I need to get what I do have ready organized and out of the family room downstairs. I’ll check in later!

Joyce, when we were in Chicago I went in a few stores on the magnificent mile, fun to look at some of the items but they were way out of my league. Pizza tour sounds like fun. That is a lot of steps, hope you enjoyed today and weren’t too tired.
Ruth, your new closet sounds great. I would love a bigger closet but just not possible in my house. Hope you were able to get a few things accomplished. I always feel uncomfortable when there are workers in my house. Hope the dumpster shows up soon, I always hate when demolition debris is on someone’s lawn.
Got home safely last night. Made a quick breakfast for dinner. Sausage, eggs and toast for Bill, just eggs and toast for me. The eggs were about the only food item that I could cook quickly. We both got unpacked last night and I started on the L early this morning. I did 3 loads and have one more load to do. Almost everything is back in its place and suitcases are put away. I did get out and did some grocery shopping so we could eat lunch. I spent most of the afternoon doing paperwork, taxes are due next week here, and had to do some follow-ups for the upcoming trips. The weather is great, low 80s and low humidity. The only thing we brought home was an additional book on Italy, so no new clutter added to my house. One of our neighbors collects our mail and papers and he brought that over this morning, that took me about an hour to go thru, a lot went in the recycling bin.
